Alvin's POV I was in a room with Nora in a police station in Los Angeles. Mr Lyam was some feets outside the room and I heard him speak with a mixture of French and English to the policemen. We had been here for about thirty minutes now and nothing seemed to be happening. They had refused to tell me why I was here without calling My father first. And I was starting to get really scared. What could be the reason? Did anything happen in my company in the days I haven't been there or it was because of Nora? I looked at her at the end of the room as I thought of her. She had been quiet since we were put inside this room; It seemed she also didn't know what to say just like me. I still can't believe that she insisted she would come with me because I'm her boss and boyfriend at the same time. A part of me continued to think of what we were talking about before the police came. I closed my eyes, thinking of how my father would react if he came here. Today is one of the worst days of
Alvin's POV My father first walked to meet the people that were about twenty who were seated in the room. He sat on one of the chairs and glanced back at me. I didn't need to think to know what that meant. My gaze moved over to Nora who had her mouth slightly open like she was also in shock. I saw her swallow her saliva and look over to me before she also moved forward. There were up to fifteen cops or more in the room; including the ones who had come over to my house. Then there were four unfamiliar faces with the maid who had gone mad in the kitchen last night. I kept standing and looking at her, my legs refusing to move even a bit. “Why is he masked?“ I heard someone ask. And I saw the paleness on Nora's face at that moment. “Alvin!“ My father suddenly yelled, obviously because I was starting to waste his time with my standing. I finally managed to move forward and stood beside my father, my eyes avoiding that of the maid. Today is the first time I really felt glad that I
Nora's POV Mr Lyam brought a tape which had the footage approximately five minutes later and put it on Alvin's hands before bowing slightly and moving towards the door. I was looking with shock and disbelief at Alvin. Why hadn't he requested for the footage sooner and made us go through such a strenuous and frustrating argument? Alvin dropped the tape on the table in front of Captain Bob and I really wished I could see his expression at that moment. My gaze darted to Mr Miller and I saw the anger blazing in his eyes. It was obvious that even he was angry about the fact that his son had something that could have taken them out of that room the moment they stepped in but is only bringing it out now. “What is this?“ asked Captain Bob, his eyes darting in nervousness. I knew from the moment he started talking that he desperately wanted it to be true that Alvin was actually guilty of what he was being accused of. “Isn't it obvious?“ I heard Alvin mutter. I was secretly looking at
Author's POV (Last chapter's continuation) Alvin seemed to hear what Nora said because he suddenly wind down the glass. “You're not coming?“ he asked with his voice stretching in slight surprise. “No, I'm not,” Nora replied and started to walk away. “Madam!“ called Mr Lyam. “Where are you…” Alvin pushed him out of the way before he could finish and rushed to meet Nora. “I'm sorry for how I acted. I'm just so frustrated at the maid—” “You don't need to explain,” Nora caught him off, her voice sounding like she'd made up her mind. “I'm sure your father already knows that we're fake. You can tell him I sent my regards.“ “Don't be ridiculous, Nora. You're wearing pyjamas, and you still have your stuff in my house.“ Nora looked below her to the dress she was wearing like she was just realising that she was indeed wearing pyjamas. She let out a frustrated sigh and ran her hands over her hair. “Perhaps you could get in the car and—” “And what, Alvin?“ she angrily asked. “
Mr Miller and Darkie with some of the Black Mamba Members walked out of a private jet in a private airport in California. The jet belonged to Mr Miller. Forty minutes ago, he had informed his pilots and flight attendants that he would be paying a visit to California and now they've arrived. They all looked magnificent and out of the world powerful in their black attires. Mr Miller was wearing a very expensive black suit and tie and shiny black polished shoes that screamed business. Darkie, who was in his right side, was dressed in a simple black jacket and jeans with dark sunglasses and a suitcase in his hands. The other guys including Mr Miller's bodyguards were wearing less intimidating suits and had serious expressions on their faces. They had four black Rolls Royce bulletproof cars waiting for them at the Airport. Mr Miller entered the second one with Darkie and a professional driver who was a member of the black Mambas. Mr Miller was staring at his watch like he was visuali
The four black Rolls Royce cars parked at a clubhouse on the outskirts of California. The time was about 2:17 P.M. now. Mr Miller patted the short gun hidden at the tip of his trousers and smiled at Darkie. “Are you ready?“ Darkie nodded his reply and loaded some bullets into his own gun before tucking them away. “Are you sure this ain't a mistake? We left L.A even when we knew that the Scorpions were staying there for the meantime and came to California. What if Raven goes for Alvin as nobody is there to protect him?“ “He wouldn't dare,” replied Mr Miller, gritting his teeth. “And I must say I trust Nora to protect and keep him safe.“ “Yeah. From her step-brother,” replied Darkie in a kind of mocking way. Mr Miller didn't reply to that. He was busy arranging his clothes and appearance to maintain the swag he had carried for more than twenty years since he founded the Black Mamba mafia family. “I expect you want me to go out and open the door by myself,” said Mr Miller. Alvin and Nora were in a small restaurant near North Hollywood. They were seated across each other and were chewing silently at the food on the table. They arrived here about twenty minutes ago. The restaurant was mostly visited by the middle class people who just wanted a peaceful and quiet place to eat and rest. It had no more than ten table setups with air conditioning and beautiful rainbow decorations. The table setups were not all filled since it was still afternoon. There were six free tables since the remaining four were being used by the current customers. Alvin had insisted that they came here after Mr Lyam drove him and Nora to his house to take her stuff and he practically forced her to let him drive her home. They had been on the road leading to Nora's house when suddenly Alvin took a sharp bend and ended up driving them to the Rainbow restaurant. Alvin ate a little and mostly watched Nora eat. She wasn't wearing the damn Pajamas again, of course. Instead, she was w
Alvin's heart flew out of his chest as he watched the Mercedes move closer to Nora. Why wasn't she moving? What was her plan? Does she want to die? Those were the unanswered questions that Alvin thought of before matching the acceleration of his car and driving towards her. The Mercedes was only a few feets away from her now and Alvin managed to turn his car in full speed and blocked Nora with his car so the mad incoming Mercedes would hit his car instead of her. Then he rushed suddenly to Nora. His hands came up to her face and he caressed her cheeks and checked her eyes to see if there was a sign of her being bewitched by the driver of the Mercedes. Nora still didn't flinch. Her eyes were solely focused on the car and it seemed that she hadn't even noticed Alvin's presence. “Nora!“ yelled Alvin in an attempt to bring her back from wherever her thoughts were. Alvin was so worried that he didn't bother to turn back and maybe punch the reckless Mercedes driver for almost killing
