Monday night was busy for Raven, because he had more of his step-siblings to kill. He was inside his black Mercedes car with Jayden and Jordan. Jordan was in the driver's seat, and Jayden was in the passenger's seat, but Raven was seated at the back because he was their future boss. Jordan was grunting at every minute that passed; he didn't seem to like Raven's routine, and he wasn't hiding it. Jayden on the other hand was completely quiet. His face was blank and expressionless; and he always had that look of longing in his eyes. It wouldn't take a genius to tell that all he wanted was avenging their late Don, Gomez Maxson. And he couldn't make a move without Raven, partly because most of the Scorpion mafia members respected him because he had Gomez Waxson's blood flowing through his veins. “We've been here for hours,” said Jordan. “What the hell are we waiting for?“ Raven didn't give a reply; he seemed to be exclusively interested in something in his phone. They were i
When Alvin woke up, it was already morning. He stretched on the bed and his hands moved around to find his phone. He had a strange pain in his head, like there was a speaker playing repeated loud beats in there. After several attempts, Alvin realised his phone wasn't on the bed with him. Then suddenly, he got up when he remembered what happened the night before and the fact that he wasn't on his bed at home. Nora had completely slept-off right after saying “his face wasn't cursed ”. And he was so shocked and paralysed that he decided to wait in the room until she woke up and explain to him who she really was; and also how she knew the state he was in. Alvin looked around the room. She wasn't there. He sighed. “Maybe she left.“ Alvin jumped off the bed and saw that he was still in yesterday's clothes. How he got in the bed even after a drunk temptation was sleeping there was a mystery to him. “She couldn't possibly have left yet,” Alvin muttered, looking around to find
Nora's POV When Alvin's lips landed on mine, I was so shocked and shaken to react. I am supposed to push him off me with anger but I found myself pushing his head closer to my lips. He continued kissing me like he was a pro at it, and I just moaned in silence and started to respond to him equally. Something deep in my heart told me I shouldn't be allowing him to do this to me. I had promised myself after my breakup with David that I would never have anything to do with any guy again for the rest of my life. But here I am, kissing a man I barely know and pushing him closer to me like a chick to its mother hen. His hands moved down from my back and cupped my bosom in possession; and the way his hands pressed and lingered there told me he had wanted to do that for a long time. Alvin's lips moved away from my mouth and kissed me under my ears, and I felt my legs going weak and useless over me. My hands moved to his well-defined back and I caressed it with all the power I have l
Last chapter's continuation… Alvin's POV I observed her expression after what I said, and I could see the shock and confusion in it. Had she indeed been dreaming when she said those things to me? I sincerely couldn't blame her. I myself would have stopped to consider my actions if she was the person being masked and if she had been in my situation—but I doubted there could be a woman that could make men go crazy if they saw her face. My hands grabbed the chair, almost breaking it in anger. This was becoming too much for me to handle. Why did I even tell her? I could have stopped and thinked of another excuse to give—surely she'd have believed it if I said I had some transferable skin disease or something. But eventually, if she is as smart as I think she is; she'd ask me to take it off despite that. The fact that she didn't make an attempt to remove the mask even when I was asleep made me realise just how respectful and thoughtful she was. She still wasn't saying anythi
Meanwhile, in California, Raven Waxson was lying on a small hospital-like bed. His left leg was tied with a nonstick bandage and elevated with a cloth tied at the head of the bed. He was half-conscious, and could barely make-out anything in his surroundings. With his blurred vision, he caught the sight of somebody walking to him some minutes later. “Future Don!“ the voice said. Raven tried to remember whose voice he was hearing; but he couldn't because his head and ear were ringing in pain. The only thing he could do was raise one of his hands to wave whoever it was. “You don't recognise me?“ asked the voice. “It's me—Venom.“ A muffled sound escaped Raven's lips, and he immediately propped his hands on the bed's pillow and stood up even though his legs were still in pain. He still couldn't see clearly; but his gaze was good enough to scan the face in front of him and know he was really who he says he is. “It's worse than I expected,” Venom chuckled, like he was very amus
Alvin was in the bar with Nora and David, and they were all seated on three chairs with a table in the middle. The club was quite empty at this time of the day since it was still morning; only a few people were seated at the end with drinks on their table and lit Indian Hemp in their mouth. The club was much quieter compared to last night, and Alvin counted every second that passed with self-consciousness. There had been a shift of bartenders—and Alvin had snorted when they came to sit here some minutes ago; he'd have surely told Jake to deal with the male bartender if he was still there. The three people on the chair were all silent and seemed to be thinking of a way to start a conversation. David was picking at his nails and glancing at his watch at every minute. His face would usually turn sour when he saw the time, like he was expecting it to run without looking back. Nora was avoiding Alvin's gaze with a pale expression on her face. She had been the one that suggested th
Alvin's POV When we heard the gunshot, Nora froze in her spot and I drew her into my embrace. David was looking at the other side of the road where the possible shooters were. His hesitation to move more from shock than fear. I couldn't blame him. He probably thought the shooters were after him because he was a celebrity. David's bodyguard had all dispersed from the building after Nora came back to meet them outside the room, thus he didn't have any protection from harm now. I suddenly held Nora's hands in mine and started to go back into the club with her, but the stubborn lady was restraining and even fingered my hands. “Nora, are you out of your mind?!“ I asked her, my voice wavering in anger. Even if she wasn't on good terms with me. Is this the right time to show it? “No I'm not,” she replied. “We don't know who they came for, so I'm gonna see myself. And David is still out there.“ We were both just at the open entrance to the club, and we were behind the doors so
Catherine's P.O.V I was outside the house, sunbathing on a rocking chair with my sunglasses on. I could hear the low chirping of birds in the tall trees at the end of the street. The breeze was cool and just perfect enough for every normal September. The only clothes I had on were some short revealing tops and an equally short Khaki pants which stopped just below my buttocks. I was comfortable with the way I rested my back—more comfortable than all my life put together. But something was bothering me. I had gone on a short work tour to Hollywood to discuss my starring in a new Reality TV show last night but came back to see the house empty. I knocked on Nora's door and eventually went into her room since it wasn't locked but I couldn't find her. Something in my mind told me her sudden change of attitude was because of the woman who visited—a woman who was supposed to be “her mother” by the way. There was something strange going on that I couldn't put my fingers on. Nora clear
Raven walked towards them with a gun in his hands while pushing Catherine forward. He had a look of bloodlust in his eyes as he stopped and spat just a few feets away from Alvin and Nora who were still on the ground. Catherine's eyes were half-closed from tiredness and fatigue and it seemed she hadn't realised that it was Nora in front of her. She finally did when Raven pushed her with force to the ground. Catherine groaned as her body landed on the ground and she looked up at Nora who looked equally shocked and confused to see her. Catherine's mouth was quivering as she stared at Nora, so guilty and distracted by her presence that she didn't see Alvin near her. “N-nora…” she stammered. “I thought you were… gone. I'm sorry for—” She had wanted to get up as she spoke but Raven kicked her back to the ground. “R-raven… don't!“ Nora screamed. “It's me you want, right? Take me and let her be.“ Raven laughed. “I've waited for this moment for a long time… ever since the will was rea
(Last chapter's continuation) Alvin lowered his height as he came out of the car. He wasn't wearing a mask again and his heart beat faster than usual out of fear. He really didn't have a plan—didn't know how the Scorpions or whoever attacked them was successful when Darkie and the Mamba Soldiers were behind. He was thinking to walk to the back of the car and start shooting then wait for Darkie and the two soldiers to join him. There was silence all around except from the occassional passing of other cars. Alvin balanced himself and looked to his right, just realising that they were well off the mainroad. He suddenly rose to his full height to attack the masked guys who had hijacked them when he felt the barrel of a gun on his head from behind. Alvin planned to surprise the person behind him and shoot him dead but froze when he heard a voice. “Don't even think about it. Drop the guns.“ Alvin turned slowly and gasped when he saw the voice owner was indeed Darkie. Before he coul
Author's POV They both came out of the office and started to go to the ground floor with Nora's hands in his. He had given her another cross-bag to put the pistols inside. Nora was almost tempted to stop at Amanda's office as they passed but didn't when she saw the expression on Alvin's face. They got to the elevator, and as they waited Nora wondered where they were going. “Nice of you to have kept your guns in your office. It seems you really trusted that guy.“ “I did,” Alvin responded. “And this is how he repays me—by fucking my secretary on my desk. I'm so going to fry him when I'm finally settled.“ “What about Amanda?“ asked Nora. “What about her?“ “What are you going to do with her?“ “Fire her of course,” Alvin replied with a smile. “I can't believe my father had actually wanted me to marry someone like that. Now I have enough reasons to not marry her.“ Nora wanted to speak but shut up as a result of the fact that he mentioned his father. The elevator stopped and op
(Last chapter's continuation) The Ferrari drove out of the hotel smoothly and without any problems. When they were out, Alvin was half-expecting guys wearing black jumping from the shadows to hijack the car. But nothing happened. Maybe it was this peaceful since it was still 7:30 in the morning. The car started to drive at a leisurely pace through the express road, and Nora continuously caught glances from Jake in the rear mirror which made her uncomfortable. “Why're we going to your company?“ she quietly asked Alvin. “Because I'm going there to take some things I need,” replied Alvin. He caught Jake watching them with curiosity and was almost tempted to slap him from the back seat. “Can I know what's going on now, please?“ asked Jake. “We're already “on the way”. Alvin sighed and looked at Nora who was now staring out of the window. “Jake, this is Nora. And Nora; this is Jake, my best and closest friend.“ Nora managed a nod, not bothering to say anything or look out of t
Alvin and Nora got out of the bathroom after towelling themselves in total silence. Nora picked a new pair of underwear from the ones Alvin had bought and put it on at the back of the wardrobe. Alvin did the same but didn't change his clothes since they were still new and fresh. Nora went back to the bathroom and combed her hair since it was rougher than the situation on ground, then she wore a khaki short and a big and black T-shirt. They were both done with their dressing at last, and could barely look each other in the eyes again. Nora felt weird. It seemed like making love with Alvin had completely made her forget that there was a problem at all. Both their lives were at risk, and yet they had forgotten that and were having fun in the bathroom. Nora suddenly realised that they hadn't left the hotel even when it was obvious that a close friend to Mr Miller was the owner. She realised both of their lives would be at stake if they didn't leave there in some minutes. And what stop
David couldn't sleep throughout the night. His eyes were wide open as he was completely confused and unaware of what was happening. He didn't know how he got cut-up in this situation, but he did know that Nora was linked to the reason he was there. He just couldn't close his eyes since he was constantly cursing himself and regretting the fact that he hadn't let her be even when she insisted and showed that she hated him with passion. Now, it was morning. And he could see the outside world through the dog cage he was in. He hadn't eaten or drank anything since yesterday when he arrived here—they hadn't given him anything to eat or drink. Not that he cared much about food, though. He was thinking about his family and how they may be faring after probably hearing from his staff and bodyguards that he left home and didn't come back for the night. He was sure they'd take quick action since he always made sure to inform them if he wasn't going to return and always called his Butler when h
Nora's POV I woke up with a smile on my face and wiped my eyes with my hands. The rays of the morning sun were poking-out through the blinds at the window. I had never felt this happy in all my life—my heart was filled with so much joy like I won a billion dollar lotto. I felt something firmly pressed against me from the back, and when I turned my head and discovered what it was, I felt my cheeks go hot. Alvin was lying on his side completely naked with my equally naked back pressed against him. His hands were slightly wrapped around me in a possessive way, and his hair was on the bed. I felt sore down there just from thinking of all the things we did last night. We had made love all over and over again until I couldn't take it anymore and crashed into his arms. I could tell that he was satisfied—and I had been too. I wouldn't deny that sex with him is the best thing that has ever happened to me—far better and more passionate than the ones I remembered having with David. I frown
Morning came at last. The sky was bright and promising a new day; and Los Angeles was as lively as usual. Catherine slowly let her eyes open to see the new day. Raven had totally forgotten about her since the last time he came. He didn't even ask any of the Scorpion Soldiers to feed or give her water. The tears in her eyes and face had dried completely. She looked worse than a slave who had not been fed for days and had been working non-stop despite that. Catherine managed to get up from the small bed in which she had barely gotten any sleep the night before. She crossed her arm over her body as a result of cold. Last night had been so cold that she felt like she would freeze to death since there wasn't a blanket on the bed. She felt hungry and abandoned, and wondered who Nora was and why she (Catherine) was going through hell just because of her. “You should have thought about that before you sold her information to that guy,” a voice in her head said. Catherine started to cry
Don Miller gritted his teeth as he stepped out of his Cadillac car. One of the three Black Mamba soldiers who had accompanied him for the day slowly shut the door behind him as his legs touched the ground. The angry-looking Don turned the moment the door was locked and said to the soldier who closed it: “Why did you shut the door with so much force?!“ The helpless guy looked at the other two soldiers in confusion and shock. He looked really confused because he had locked the door really professionally and silently. “I thought I shut it well, Don. I'm sorry if it might have sounded forced to you.“ He bowed to show his sincerity. Don Miller's anger heightened to the fullest. “Are you trying to say I'm deaf? Or I don't know what I'm saying? You f*cking shut the door with all the force in the world and you're denying it! Are you freaking insane?“ The soldier looked a little frightened and flustered as he crashed to the ground and begged the Don for mercy. “I'm sorry, Don. I'll never
