As I engaged in conversation with Joseph's mother, Mrs. Lachlan, I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and connection. Her easygoing demeanor and genuine interest in our conversation made me feel instantly at ease. Meanwhile, I noticed Joseph observing us from the corner of the room, his curiosity evident in his expression.

"It's been wonderful getting to know you, Mrs. Lachlan," I said, unable to contain my smile. "I feel like we've become fast friends already!"

Mrs. Lachlan returned the smile warmly, her eyes twinkling with kindness. "Likewise, dear. You bring such joy to Joseph's life. He's fortunate to have you."

Glancing over at Joseph, I noticed a hint of surprise on his face. "I'm pleasantly surprised by how well you two are hitting it off. My mother doesn’t get along with a lot of people," he remarked with a grin.

I nodded in agreement, "Your mom is a wonderful person. I genuinely like her." I whispered as we went back to listening to Mrs. Lachlan story wher
