Chapter 4- Trapped
Trapped, like a trap in a trap - Dorothy Parker
Reign woke up to see her body shivering under the sheets. There was no sign of the sun, when she stood at the window all she saw was fog as thick as a cloud. She turned up the heater in the house and grabbed her pair of bed night slippers from her bag.
She glimpsed up on the bed then went back to packing when her mom alarm in her brain clicked. Amber was not on the bed.
“Amber!” she yelled and rushed towards the stairs. Completely forgetting that she was in a short night wear that’s worn strictly in the bedroom or if you live by yourself.
“Yes mama!” she heard Amber replied - yell from the kitchen.
“Why didn’t you wake me if you needed something to eat?” she asked her. She was seated on a stool with back brace laughing and talking with Elijah.
“You were sleeping peacefully, mommy. William said, `` I'm not supposed to wake you unless you will wake up looking like Fiona from shrek” Amber smiled and stuffed her mouth with the toast.
The amount of fumes escalating from Reign’s body due to anger was good enough to keep the entire cabin warm.
“Next time tell me, even if it’s Willy-Grinch that told you to do so,” Reign kissed her cheek. “Remember we do not know him well. He could have done something to you.”
“It’s William,” he grumbled. “And what the fu–mble would I do to a toddler?” he hissed. “Looks like you are the one asking for some action.”
“What is that suppose to mean, Mr. Grinch?”
“You came downstairs; you did not say good morning and here you are wearing next to nothing.” He said, his eyes travelling once more over her body.
Reign did even bother to argue with him. Remembering that honestly she was wearing a mesh night shorts and a silk top that outlines her nipples, she ran quickly up the stairs to shower and change.
Reign returned not long after to find them still eating. Elijah was feeding Amber and William was reading a newspaper.
“I’m back,” she said, announcing herself as she took a seat beside Amber, kissing her forehead. “So, Willy, where’s my breakfast?”
“I think he hates you calling him Willy, Mommy,” Amber giggled, as William’s face turned red.
“Yes, we think but Willy has not said it,” Reign smirked, taking the plate from his hands.
“I don’t like being called Willy,” William answered, handing her a cup of coffee.
“Did you hear something?” Reign asked Amber with a grin on her face.”
“Maybe,” Amber giggled more.
“Well I think he loves being called Willy- Grinch,” she smiled.
~***~
William just stepped out of the shower and picked up his camera. His black hair was wet and curly, water dripping down his forehead. He clothed himself in a plaid blue and grey button front shirt that hugged his body and black skinny jeans. He was not the broad shoulder, eight pack abs guy but beware to keep your women close by when he was around. All he needed was six packs and his heart melting, mouthwatering smile and every woman would come running in his direction.
William wanted to run a background check on her but he did not know her last name. He could not put them out and he knew nothing about her and had not the slightest idea of how to have a proper conversation with her. Hard headed he thought.
After taking pictures from the balcony of his cabin room, he sat and finished editing his photographs on his laptop and journey downstairs.
“What does Elijah mean by I’m not leaving?” she fumed at him.
“Because you can’t leave, not yet anyway. So go and unpack,” William said to her.
“Why would I be doing that?” Reign asked, folding her arms miserably.
“I guess this is where I ask if I stuttered,” William rolled his eyes.
“You bi-!” she yelled and stopped when Amber walked in the room.
“How dare you speak to me like that?” William gripped her arms.
“How dare you put that filth of a hand on me,” she spat at him.
“I’m William Winchester. You do not speak to me like that,” he hissed through gritted teeth.
“I’m Elizabeth-Reign Davis and I love smacking dick faces in the crotch. Hands off!” she yelled, pushing him backwards.
Bingo! William said in his mind. Her full name.
“Why am I staying here?” she asked. “And what is so funny?”
This girl can’t stop asking questions already? He asked himself.
“There was an accident last night that closed off the main road that leads into the town. Your car is also yet to be fixed. So go make yourself comfortable once more,” he explained.
“Great, just great. Damn you reindeers!” she cried miserably, stomping her feet.
“Stop acting like a child, child. You’re not going to die here,” William scolded her. “Do you need time out or a candy to calm down?”
“Whatever, I’m stuck with a douche named Willy-Grinch,” she shrieked.
“Reign Davis I'm warning you,” he growled.
“You are making the wrong type of noises. You’re supposed to go hoe hoo,” she laughed. “You are Willy Winny the Grinch Pooh.”
“Damn it, I'm losing my patience. This is really a mishap,” he mouthed then left.
“Told you so!” she smiled and carried her luggage back upstairs.
After everyone went back to their room that night. William began his research on Reign now that he has her last name. After waiting a hour before her profile had been retrieved he read keenly:
Name: Elizabeth-Reign Lily Davis
Age: 23 ¾
Date of Birth: December 19, 1992
Graduate: Leslie High School and Leslie Community College (dropped out)

Sister: Cecile Davis

William ignored the parts that had to do with the colour of her eyes, hair and how tall she was. He was tempted to click on her confidential information but it’s of no use to him. He just wanted to know that she was not a murderer
“Hey brother, find anything interesting on her?” Elijah asked him.
“Nope she’s all clean,” William replied. “And I can’t wait until she leaves.”
“Why?” Elijah asked.
When no response came, he just read William’s facial expression.
“Because she is one of the few that talks back to you?” Elijah asked. “I find it very entertaining and her daughter is a great company. She got jokes.”
“Yes and it is irritating,” William poured two glasses of scotch.
“Do you like her?” Elijah asked out of the blues.
“No, besides I just met the girl. Also she’s definitely not my type,” William replied.
“Cheers,” Elijah said and clinked their glasses. “To whatever we are drinking.”
Chapter 5- Settled If we fail to adapt, we fail to move forward - John Wooden ~***~ “Mr. Winchester, can you help me?” Amber asked. She stepped off the stairs and walked over to where Elijah and William were standing up. “What do you need help with Bambi?” William asked. “My iPod, It’s not charging,” she pouted and handed the iPod to him. After testing almost every socket in the house. William realized that there was no light. “There’s no light Bambi,” he told her. “I’ll get it fixed. Go upstairs to mommy and shut the door.” Amber made her way back to bed and cuddled up beside Reign’s sleeping body. “Amber, it’s fixed. I got the generator up,” William barged into the room. “Don’t you knock!” Reign shouted, grabbing the sheet to cover her naked body. “Damn! I mean I’m sorry,” William apologized, scratching the back of his neck. “Are you? Because you’re still staring at me,” she barked at him. She followed his gaze down to where her left breast was visible. “Are you drooling o
You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree - Unknown~***~“You cannot open it like that!" Reign yelled at William. William jumped suddenly, spilling all the noodles on the kitchen floor. William looked at her gripping his fist and biting the inner of his cheek. "Why are you awake?" He asked. "Because my body is fully rested." “Sadly. How is it supposed to be opened? ” he questioned miserably with the roll of his eyes.“Read the label, smart guy,” she answered, the noodles that were still in his hands before he spilled the restm“Oh and you are cleaning that up,” he added. "Why did you have to be right? If only I just read the damn package."“Did you just say I'm right?” She gasped and stopped chopping seasonings immediately.“Yes. Is that hard to believe?” he answered under his breath, with slouched shoulders.“Please stop slouching your shoulders,” Reign commanded. “And yes, it’s hard to beli
Chapter 7 - Healing Awareness is the first step in healing - Dean Ornish ~***~ “Reign! Why are you so stubborn!” William yelled at her. “Look what you are making me do. I don’t shout or raise my voice at women but you had to bring out the worst in me, huh?” “I just wanted to go with Dominic and Amber,” she answered, frowning. “And it was already there you just chose me to try and control.” “You can go another time. You keep forgetting that you can hardly walk,” William sighed. “How are you going to heal, when you keep irritating the bruise and your sprained ankle and knee?” It has been two weeks since Reign slipped and fell in the kitchen. Each time she was about to heal, she disobeyed William's order resulting in her being in bed longer. It was now the first week in December and William and Reign were still at each other’s throats, not as much thorough. He became sad when she started walking a little because he could not take care of her anymore. It puzzled him as to why he
Chapter 8 Past with VictorReign was far from happy about her situation, whereas, she had to abide because she could not do anything about it at this point. She hated every fiber that made up William, at least that’s what she tells herself. His behavior reminded her of Victor in a lot of ways but mostly with their usage of ‘power.’ From the looks of it William had money, and with money they all believed they could control others.~***~Shortly after she took Amber as her own, her parents were exploding, especially her mother. She did not let a day go by without telling Reign she stained their family’s name. Victor was the owner of the hotel in which she applied to be a housekeeper and in less than three months, he had taken a liking to her. More than just employee-employer liking. And pity Reign did not know that in this moment her life would change for the worst. She wanted to make a great amount of dividends to provide for Amber and send herself back to school. She was almost th
Chapter 10 - DenialDenying the truth doesn’t change the facts - Picture quotes~***~They made their first stop at a haberdashery; Reign wanted some crochet needle and thread. She made her way to ask William something but he walked away when she approached him. What’s his problem? She asked herself. It continued throughout their shopping. When they made their final stop to get Christmas decorations she went next door in a bookstore for a pack of blank paper. Forgetting if ink was in the printer at the cabin she made her way to the door when the owner’s son stopped her.“Stealing from a book store, pathetic girl?” the guy scowled at her. “I’m not a thief. I was about to ask that guy over there if ink was back at the cabin.” she pointed but he did not look . He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the shelf and ripped the pack of paper from her hand. “I’m going to tell Willy. You hurt mommy.” Amber dash outside the store. “He’s going to be my daddy.”“Daddy? What daddy? Reign aske
Chapter 11 - Awkward moments I tend to be awkward if I find you attractive - Unknown ~***~ Reign’s Pov Ever since Chleo came out about William liking me; it has been hard for me to even argue with him. I still called him Willy Winnie the Pooh, but facing him was another problem. Whenever he was around me I normally tense up or choke on my words. So, I have just started avoiding him. Yes, I know it’s childish but what else am I supposed to do? It’s too soon, Isn’t it? I mean I just walked out on my wedding a month ago and during that period I’m thinking about another guy. Should I stop avoiding him and talk to him? No, it’s going to be too weird. People fall in love at first sight, get married and last but not everyone’s fate is the same. I’m scared of rushing and also scared of not taking the chance. What do I do? Help me, someone. “Shit! Shit! Shit!” Reign muttered under her breath. “What is he doing to me?” He's shirtless drinking coffee on the front porch, leaning against the
Chapter 12 - Knowing each other I can’t say how much I like you and how special you are to me, but I can say my world is full of smiles when I am with you. ~***~ He gently rewrapped her sprained ankle that got irritated during breakfast this morning. He massaged gently where the swelling was obvious, his touch was tender and caring and she relaxed under his touch. Reign was no longer grumpy from the pain when William finished massaging her ankle. “Leaving already?” she asked, feeling lonely when he headed towards the door. “I’m going to do some work, I’ll be back,” he smiled at her. She melted when he came over to her and kissed the top of her head. “Thanks for the laptop and phone. You did not have to,” she replied. He asked Elijah to buy a laptop and phone for her earlier when he went into town to keep her company since she kept using theirs. “It’s okay. You needed them,” William replied. “Mind telling me what you do for a living or what you want to do in life before I leave?
Chapter 13 - Waiting Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known - Sharon Begley ~***~ William’s POV I stared down into those alluring eyes of her’s. They were nothing less than bewitching; just a glimpse in those will have you captured and falling. She told me a girl would be a fool to decline my date offer nonetheless she has not given me an answer yet. For the few days that followed I gave her space, the only time we were together was when everyone else was in the same room as us. She normally looked everywhere but at me. I tried to do the same but failed as expected; how is it easy for her not to look at me and I’m sitting here staring at her nonstop. She’s fucking contagious. I ruffled my hair; well, what’s left of it. She hugged her body as the window flew open and a gust of wind danced through her hair, her face went red and she shivered. I hissed and locked the window; everyone else just stared at the window. Thank God for Reign, they would be here freezing the
A Perfect WeddingReign has learnt that what history teaches us is to learn from the past, never repeat the same mistakes, never hold a grudge especially with someone you love because you will never know when they will leave your side for good. Sometimes in life you have to start fresh. Starting fresh for Reign included her excluding some people from her for good and forgiving others. Hating anyone was never a part of her, but she does not hesitate when it’s time to remove you from her life. Forgiving doesn't mean you forget what they did but there’s no purpose in living in the past. It will only eat you up inside and steal any chance of happiness. You just choose to be mature not to hate them and forgiving doesn’t mean you let them re-enter your life. Bringing her own sunshine wherever she goes was her speciality. It doesn’t matter how gloomy her day was, she found and had the energy to smile and lit up the sky. For the past year and a half Reign was living her best life in the co
“Do we need so much security?” Reign asked, frowning.“Yes, Sheryl parents are fuming and therathng us, more likely you.” William answered. “Prevention is better than cure, babe.”“They’re that dangerous?”“To those who can’t stand up to them. They build their life mainly on manipulating and bribing,” William replied. “They’ll go the extra mile for Sheryl, even when she has a knife visual in someone’s heart, they’ll find a way to pin it on you.”“I should’ve just left and dropped all charges.”When no reply came, she looked up to see a hur
Cherishing Moments ~***~ With the spine being your body’s central support structure, William was in critical condition, in and out of surgery. He was getting the best and most expensive medical treatment care there was available. Reign visited him with the girls as often as she could. The only blockage in her way was his mother. She was doing her best here to try and blame everything on Reign when in reality every man should account for their own action. Reign had no idea why she despised her so much but she was bent on giving her a piece of her mind and didn't care what her status in life was. “Can you spend the night with me tonight, please,” William begged her. “I want you and the girls here with me.” “I don’t think your mother will like that,” she responded. “Speaking of her.” The Queen waltzed in all might and glory with her other children and grandchildren. “I would love to speak to my son,” she said to Reign. “What or who’s stopping you?” Reign asked with a scoff, r
Making all wrongs RIGHT ~***~ William’s car screeched in the dirt road when he came to an abrupt stop in front of Reigns's house. Parker and his partner were already there and backup arrived shortly after William got out of his car. “He isn’t alone on the property,” Parker explained when William approached him. “They’re three men with him in the house.” “How did they get inside the house? All doors and windows were locked,” William frowned. “They picked the lock,” Parker replied. “What’s the plan?” “We want to lure him out to find out what he wants. Remember you, they have the little girl,” Parker explained. “Call for backup.” ''Why do we need to back up?” William asked. “You’re the prince and Victor is wanted on many felonies,” Parker answered. “If anything happens to you, I’d want to face everyone but your mother.” Parker trembled and a scared look washed over his face at the mention of the Queen. “I’ll do it. I bet I’m the person he wants.” “You can’t, William,” Sheryl
Reign is home. It has been two weeks since Reign has been captured and with trying to catch Sheryl and Victor red handed everyone has to lay low and play the fool for some time. Reign was moved to William’s penthouse, beforehand in the hospital she underwent several surgeries for broken ribs, bones, nose and she was dehydrated and becoming puny from the lack of food. Their daily lives went on with William and the others still pretending to look for Reign. “Can I go out for a walk?” Reign asked William as she opened her eyes. He was seated in a chair by her bed, completely puzzled. With a sigh William strolled closer to her bed. “Not yet, Reign. Please don’t be stubborn about it either,” he squeezed her hand, giving her a comforting smile. “Isn’t everything supposed to be over by now?” she inquired. “There was a setback with the back to school charity,” he explained. “However, I will be attending tonight and after this everything will be fine.” Reign sat upright on the bed, star
Finding Reign ~***~“Your highness, we have not found anything yet,” The FBI Agent said quickly when he walked into their office. “ It’s going to take a few days or weeks to track and come up with possible ease.” “Does it look like I have time for that?" William asked, sitting down in the chair. “I know you are impatient, but things like these take time,” The Agent said. “We have to ensure that she doesn't run away.” "Are you hearing yourself? That girl lived for her children she would never leave them behind,” William stopped The Agent’s rambling, handing them the files. “I know who took her. Your job is to find where she is being held hostage. I’m giving you 24hours. I need this to be done on the low, no drama or excitement "The Agents looked at him surprised. "May I ask you who this girl is to you? And why are you going out of your way to bring her home when you are even trying to buy her land?" “My business, not yours. The clock is ticking 24 hours, do you get that?” he asked
Where is Reign 2?~***~“You need to calm down, William,” his mother told him. “What is that gonna do? She’s not about to appear out of thin air, mom,” he raked his hand through his hair, exaggerating on ‘mom’. “Despite you losing that girl I’m still your mother and I demand respect.” “Did I say anything to offend you?” he asked with a bitter tone, raising his brow. “Watch your tone young man?” she spat at him. “I know you are the reason why Reign left,” he rolled his eyes. “One of them and you could never be with that girl,” she groaned in annoyance. “I did all that to keep her far from you but the serpent was still sneaking around,” he spat. "Fuck I'm gonna relive losing her again."“You will not sit here and disrespect me like that, William,” she slapped him across the face. Fuming. “Why are you trying to force me to be someone I don’t want to be? I failed all those prince classes spitefully to show you that I don’t want the crown. I’m not about to trap my future kids in a l
Where's Reign?~***~Reign's Pov When she returned they were leaving. Thankfully, she was not prepared to see or hear from any of them. Amber now understands things a lot better now that she is a lot bigger. Reign didn’t know where to turn or what to do. Her past keeps running behind me like predator and prey. “We’re heading into town, are you coming with us?” Gracie peeked inside my bedroom. “Not feeling it,” Reign answered. “You can carry the girls and bring me back a big M.” “We will talk about what’s on your mind when I return. Not taking no for an answer,” she smiled, hugging her. Reign just shook her head and got Amber and Isabella dressed. “Amber, you are in charge of Isabella,” Reign said to her. “You know how mischievous she gets.” “Okay mommy, bye,” she replied, kissing my cheek then made her way towards the car hand in hand with Gracie-ann and Isabella. “Do me a favour and ensure that Isabella doesn’t drive Amber crazy?” Reign asked Gracie. “Of course,” she left an
A Great Beginning ~***~ These past four years for Reign were the best of her life, everything was going great for once without any problems. The tropical storm has just passed and Reign was just about to enjoy her summer with her daughters, bestfriend; Gracie, and her goddaughters. The summer was delightful, extremely warm with a lot of winds due to the storm that had just passed. Reign kept moving around for two of those four years until she landed herself a ranch that was selling, luckily it had two houses on opposite sides, both sellers looking for possible buyers. With the money she got and worked Reign bought the whole land and house for herself and her two daughters while Gracie did the same on the opposite side. Reign and Gracie's daughter both started third grade and are the best of friends with their little siblings following behind them. Reign had escaped Victor's wrath and thankfully he could not come near her or her loved ones. Wanting a happy and new start, she went far
