North did not immediately head home after getting out of Peacevale University. Instead, she got the driver to head for South Manor.

The moment she arrived, she saw Gerald coming out and exclaimed, “Are you alright, Gerald?”

Gerald smiled. “What are you doing here, Mrs. Howard?”

“I was worried about you,” North said. It was as though it was the most natural thing to say.

Gerald’s heart skipped a beat, and a strange feeling welled up within him. He felt like his heart had been dunked in honey. “Don’t worry. They’re not going to kill me.”

North frowned with disapproval. “You know the Souths are up to no good. Why did you even come here? Don’t do it again.”

Gerald almost let out a chuckle. “Alright. Whatever you say, Mrs. Howard.”

Connor was speechless as he drove them home.
