Abby’s POV

I get up when he starts to lean toward me. I stop him by putting my palm on his face and saying, "Behave yourself, I won't ever give myself to you."

He looked at me like he really knew me, but then he took a step back and smiled evilly, "I'm not a bad guy here, I'm just trying to win your heart back."

After narrowing my eyes to slits, I let out a gasp as he gently kissed the back of my hand, and I continued to stare at him in silence.

He has a hard, cold look in his eyes, but now they are soft and loving, like the eyes of a man who just wants me to know that everything will be okay.

Then I took my hand off of him and started walking away to find Charlotte. I wasn't sure what he meant, but it didn't matter because my only concern right now was my baby.

I saw Charlotte eating a boiled carrot while the maid tried to make her smile and laugh at the same time. I smiled at the maid and told her, "Just rest now, I'll take care of my baby."
