Chloe couldn't figure out why Adeline had to leave in such a hurry. It was unusual that Adeline hadn't breathed a word about leaving earlier.

After the initial panic abated, Chloe realized that she could have just called Adeline and asked about it. She supposed that something had come up, and Adeline might have just forgotten to inform her because she was too eager to leave. Chloe really hoped that Adeline would pick up the call so that she knew that Adeline was safe.
