Chapter 25 A Chance Encounter in the Bookstore

The afternoon sunlight was warm as oil, sweet as childhood. It embraced everything on the earth, providing strength to them.

Adeline had someone drive her to the city center. Since she didn't want to flaunt herself where everyone could see, she asked the driver to drop her off a few streets away from her destination where it was less populated.

It wasn't too far from the bookstore, so she decided to take her time and strolled around to relax.

As she approached the busiest part of the city, Adeline thought of the days she had spent with Evelyn. The corner of her mouth lifted into a sweet smile as she recalled.
