"Daddy!"

The voice managed to wake Sebastian, who had been dozing on a lumpy and hard kapok mattress. The mattress was placed on top of an old iron bed that always creaked with even the slightest movement.

Sebastian's eyes opened, and his gaze turned to where his wife was. It appeared that he found Tera panting heavily, her breath racing. She was rubbing her face with great agitation, her eyes fixed on the closed bedroom door.

Sebastian rubbed his drowsy face and rose from the bed with utmost patience. He had to hold back from complaining or protesting anything that was happening right now.

He was genuinely exhausted, and his body ached from sleeping on Tera's hard kapok mattress. Additionally, it was now three in the early morning, a time when he should be sleeping soundly until morning.
