CHAPTER 4

"Oh, your Majesty!" Venus said, surprised and immediately bowing before her King.

King Bloodstar stood before her, wearing a white tunic with black pants and black dress shoes. His silver rings upon his fingers glinted in the candlelight. His blonde hair messy and it was obvious that he too have been drinking. His dragon like eyes piercing through Venus's green ones just as they did while she was walking down the aisle.

His eyes went from stern to surprise to see Venus before him.

Venus suddenly felt exposed and indecent before the great King of Salazar; all dressed in nothing more than a thin see through nightgown. Small thin buttons going down all the way in the front.

"I... I am... I'm sorry. I thought this was someone else's room." King Bloostar said, looking away from her.

"Oh, it's perfectly all right, Your Majesty." Venus said. She was actually kind of glad it wasn't her husband.

Suddenly, the king leaned forward and stumbled inwards, unable obviously to keep his balance.

Venus reached out to him and steadied him. She placed one arm around each side of his waist and held him up on his feet.

"Your Majesty!" she said, "Are you okay?"

He looked up at her surprised and then slowly nodded.

"I apologize Princess Venus. I'm afraid I don't really handle my drink very well."

"Please... just call me Venus. How much have you had to drink, Your Majesty?" she asked

"Only two cups." he said shaking his head.

Venus looked at him surprised.

"Only two?"

King Bloodstar chuckled and then nodded his head. "As I said, I'm not a very good at handling my drinks. My brother is the drinker of the family. I'm a real lightweight even with wine."

Venus looked back and forth into the hallway and then back inside the bedroom.

The servants were not around and nobody was in the bedroom besides Venus. It didn't seem right to send the king off during such a state. He could fall and hurt himself.

"Maybe just a few minutes just so he can gain his composure..." Venus thought.

"Your Majesty, why don't you rest here for a little while?" she said. "Prince Blackscale will not return for some time so all will be well."

"I don't want to ruin your wedding night...."

"Don't worry about it." Venus said, closing the door behind them and then leading the king to the chair before the mirror.

She watched him sit down in the tall rocking chair and then looked around.

She had been in the presence of many nobles and high-ranking people but never the king of the Kingdom itself.

"Should I bring you a chamber pot in case you throw up?" Venus offered.

King Bloodstar shook his head and smiled at her. "No my dear, I shall be fine. I'm just quite dizzy. I thank you for allowing me to stay in this room."

"Shall I fetch you some water?" she offered.

"No, my dear. Why don't you sit? This is your room after all." King Bloodstar said.

Venus found a stool and sat next to the drunken King. Venus found herself looking in the mirror at them. She felt surprised when she saw the reflection of the Dragon Iike eyes of King Bloodstar staring back at her.

"You look very beautiful." he slurred out in a drunken tone of voice.

Venus blushed and then quickly looked away. "Thank you Your Majesty."

"Just call me Bloodstar from now on. We are in-laws after all now." King Bloodstar said. He then looked slowly over his shoulder and around the room.

His eyes casted onto the perfectly smooth bed. They then narrowed and then looked at Venus next to him.

"Where is my brother?" he asked.

"He, um... he is still enjoying the wedding reception, Your Majesty--I mean Bloodstar."

Bloodstar's eyes narrowed down more and then slowly stood up. Venus quickly followed him and realized that he was walking over to the bed.

He stared at the bed and then looked over at Venus.

His dragon eyes were hazed and drunk. His face expressionless. His hand went up to Venus's face and cupped her cheek.

Venus froze in shock and felt herself blushing red once again. Goosebumps went through her and she felt her heart racing.

"Such a shame...." King Bloodstar said. "Such a shame this is a dream..."

"A dream?" Venus repeated confused more than ever.

Did the king think that this was just a drunken dream that he was having? That he really wasn't here in the bed chambers of his brother and his wife? Where was this going?

"Yes, a shameful dream. My brother has not laid with you yet. You look so beautiful right now.... If this was my wedding night, I would have laid with you multiple times before the sun rose."

The words made Venus feel hot inside and she blushed more than ever. She let out a breath and she pulled away from the hand of the king.

"Your Majesty, you should not say such things." she said with an embarrassed tone. Venus hated to admit it but she even now had an image in her mind. A very naughty image of her and the King laying in the bed together.

When Venus looked up, she saw with surprise that King Bloodstar had gotten closer to her. Much closer to her than she was comfortable with.

His red and purple ombre eyes stared into her green eyes. His hand went up to her face. His thumb went over her lips, brushing them apart slightly.

"Such a shame indeed.... that all of this.... is a dream." he said slowly and softly. "You looked so beautiful during the wedding. I am so sorry that I made you marry my ignorant, younger brother."

Venus said nothing and stayed still. His warm hands caressing her bare arms and collarbone. His face studying hers as she to his. He got even closer to where he was now near inches from her face.

Venus knew she should resist the temptation to sleep with the King. However, Prince Blackscale was not here. he had rejected her on their wedding night yet it was his duty to lay with his wife. The King was obviously attracted to her.... and was even remorseful that he married her to Prince Blackscale..

"Your Majesty, I don't think we should--

Venus had no time to explain or stop the king himself from placing his pale lips against hers.
