View MoreHer tears broke out when she saw the accident in front of her own eyes. The incident where her boyfriend was hit by a car while trying to save her. They were arguing, and Clarice left Joel and ran without looking to her right or left.
Then ... the accident happened.
Clarice ran and lifted Joel's body in her lap. Blood was everywhere, including on her hands and clothes. Joel looked up at her with wide eyes, a body in pain, and a hand that reached up to wipe Clarice's cheek but failed.
"No, please! You have to hold on!" she said, crying with a sense of panic. "Someone call an ambulance!" Clarice shouted.
Many pedestrians surrounded her. Many of them were buzzing by themselves until the sound of the ambulance finally arrived. Joel's body was brought inside and Clarice went along to keep her boyfriend company.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong!" said Clarice. She held Joel's hand so tightly. "You have to hold on. Don't leave me!"
Nothing came out of Joel's lips. He tried to speak, but he couldn't get the words out. Clarice continued to cry in front of him, making him feel guilty in his heart. His woman was crying because of him, but he was also relieved that she could live because of him.
When they arrived at the hospital, Joel received prompt treatment. Clarice was not allowed in even though she rebelled against going in. She could only pause in front of the emergency room door, crying incessantly.
She wanted to contact Joel's family, but she was afraid that they would find out what had happened. Because she wasn't ready to be blamed by them at a time like this. But her mind was racing and she kept praying that Joel would be okay.
Clarice waited for a long time before the doctor treating Joel emerged. His face didn't look right and he had an apologetic expression on his face.
"We're sorry, Miss. We couldn't save him because too much blood came out, causing brain damage and bleeding as well as–"
Clarice was no longer listening to what the doctor was saying. She was busy focusing on the fact that the doctor couldn't save him, which meant that Joel ... died. She didn't want to hear any more explanations because to her it was useless.
She fell to the floor, so tight that her tears seemed to stop immediately. She had been crying for Joel just before his death. She didn't even make a sound, she just remained expressionless.
"Once again, we apologize, Miss. Our condolences. The body will begin to shift to the mortuary," was the last sentence Clarice heard.
This time Clarice finally cried. She cried silently. Her face looked flushed, not caring about the people who were watching her so pitifully. Clarice just needed an outlet to let out all her emotions over what had just happened to her.
She rose and entered before her boyfriend's body was moved. She stood still by his side and unfolded the cloth that covered his body up to his head. "So you decided to leave me, Joel?"
"I–" her throat tightened as she had to say something to him before the body was interred, "I'm sorry that I– you ... you're gone forever."
Clarice cried, hugging him. She felt the tremendous heartache of losing Joel forever. She had no idea that the man she had been with for the past five years would leave forever without leaving any words.
"Why didn't you leave anything for me, stupid?!" she asked, with a sob that she could hardly manage normally. "Please, wake up if you're not going to leave me."
But in fact, for several minutes until the body was to be moved, Joel showed no movement at all.

It was a painful reality that Clarice had to face even though she had not accepted it at all. She, for some reason, chose to hide when Joel was buried by his family and closest relatives. She was afraid and ashamed that Joel's family would abuse her and she wasn't ready for that.
Clarice stood far away, near the trees with sunglasses covering her eyes and an appearance that no one would recognize. She was like a disguised enemy, afraid of being discovered.
Her tears were gone, but her grief was still tragic. She even still hoped that Joel would rise from his chest. It may sound ridiculous, but it was what she wished for.
Nothing could ever replace her heartache. But she also didn't know how she should heal her wounds. Her eyes hurt from crying. But her heart was still aching from the unclosed wound.
"I don't think anything will make this wound heal, Joel," she said sadly.
"Who said that?"
Suddenly a male voice appeared behind her body. A tall man dressed in a black suit from head to toe. Clarice couldn't tell who he had been speaking to since he was wearing sunglasses as well.
"I'm talking to you, Miss," he said, then.
Clarice didn't turn around again. She kept her eyes on Joel's still-crowded grave. "I'm not in the mood to talk to anyone, including strangers," Clarice replied.
"I thought you needed comfort."
Clarice glanced over her glasses. She rolled her eyes and chose not to reply to the man she didn't know.
After seeing that everyone had finally left Joel's grave, Clarice decided to move toward it. However, the stranger's hand, which was still in her path, prevented her from doing so.
"Don't," he said, commandingly.
"What the hell are you doing?"
The man gestured toward the grave Clarice was about to visit. Clarice turned around and let out her breath. Apparently, some of her family had come to lay flowers for Joel.
"You'd better visit the grave tomorrow or in a few days. It'll be dangerous for you, considering you're even hiding from them," the man said.
Clarice didn't know if she should follow the stranger's words or not, but for some reason, the man beside her seemed to know a lot about such things.
Ashamed to admit it, Clarice remained silent, still watching Joel's grave which still had a few people since she thought it was deserted.
"If you don't mind, come with me for coffee," the man said, inviting her.
"I don't drink coffee."
"Then drink anything non-coffee, miss."
Clarice sighed heavily. She remembered Joel scolding her not to drink coffee because she had acid reflux. But now, as an outlet for her hurt, she wanted to break Joel's rule.
There's nothing wrong with drinking coffee, right?
Clarice turned her body around. "Who are you?"
The man took off his glasses, revealing the greenish color of his eyeballs. "I'm Tristan Penn, CEO of iBook."
Belva feels trapped in the presence of Elmer who is always with her and monitors her at all times. Elmer's possessive, protective, and jealous attitude often makes it difficult for Belva to breathe a sigh of relief. Elmer is not only a protective man, but also has a volatile temperament, making Belva have to think hard about how to keep Elmer from sticking to his side. Just like now, when Elmer drove him to the hotel where Jonan was staying, Belva was frustrated. When they arrived at the hotel, Belva tried to keep her tone calm. "Uncle, wait a minute here. I just want to see Jonan for a while, after that I'll be back," he said, hoping that Elmer would understand and give him space. However, Elmer only raised one side of his eyebrows, his gaze sharp and full of suspicion. "Why if I come along?" he asked in a flat, cold tone, and Belva couldn't answer as quickly as he wanted. Before he had time to protest, Elmer had already gotten out of the car first. He walked around and opened the do
Olaf immediately approached Belva and Elmer.Elmer quickly picked up Olaf's body and carried him to the living room."That was grandfather, wasn't he?" Belva glanced at Elmer briefly."Yes darling, that's Olaf's grandfather," Belva answered quietly.Olaf looked at Elmer and Belva in turn, "Grandfather said earlier that I was an illegitimate child, what does that mean, an illegitimate child, Mom? Is it because Olaf doesn't have a father?" Olaf asked quietly, knowing very well what adults were talking about.Elmer rubbed the top of Olaf's head and tried to explain, "It's not darling, grandfather is just angry. Grandpa didn't mean to say that.”Belva held her son's hand and threw a sweet smile at him, "Listen to Mommy, don't pay attention to whatever other people say, you just need to listen to Mommy's words. Do you understand, darling?" Olaf nodded firmly.Elmer gently rubbed the top of Olaf's head and said, "You can call Uncle Daddy if you want?" Olaf beamed, looking at his mother."Ma
“Daddy!” Belva immediately got down from the dining table.Smith seemed to narrow his eyes at Belva and Elmer.Belva was about to approach Smith, hugging him to channel her longing. However, it wasn't a hug that Belva got, but a hard slap.Elmer widened his eyes, glared angrily, grabbed Belva's shoulders."Why did you slap Belva? Did he do something wrong?” Elmer's tone sounded like he was holding back anger at this time."Shut up El, you don't know anything. Don't interfere in my family matters!" Smith confirmed to Elmer.Smith looked back at Belva, “Listen to me. Starting today, starting this second, you are no longer my daughter, you are no longer part of the Smith family, there are no inheritance rights, let alone assets and wealth in your name. I removed you from the family card. So don't ever dream, let alone try to come home and call me papa while your attitude is still embarrassing like that. Do you know!" Smith snapped loudly which only made Elmer tighten his jaw even more.I
The next morningBelva woke up when she felt a gentle stroke on her hair.“Are you awake?” Belva immediately opened her eyes.Elmer was seen gently stroking Belva's hair.Belva immediately woke up, turned to the side, looked at Olaf who was still fast asleep beside her."I've prepared breakfast for you, come down after this," Belva just nodded making Elmer get out of bed, kissing Belva's forehead briefly.Belva gasped slightly, stunned for a moment before she woke up from her reverie."My heart is pounding so much," Belva muttered as she immediately got out of bed to wash her face.Belva went down the stairs, seeing Elmer busy serving food on the dining table."Uncle cooked all this?" Belva asked making Elmer raise his head."You still call me uncle?" Belva swallowed her saliva, pulled a chair to sit down.Elmer looked at Belva, "You can call me El."Belva looked at Elmer closely, "Uncle is like better, I only respect my elders."Elmer immediately took off his apron, "You have annulle
The next morning, at breakfast with Celine intending to tell papa and mama."Mama, do you know who Celine met last night?" Smith and Melinda looked at Celine with curiosity."Sister Belva is back!" Celine said making them both open their eyes in surprise.“Did you really see it? Where?" Smith asked enthusiastically.Celine leaned her body slightly closer to the table, "Last night at the party, she attended a party that Uncle Elmer was holding as a representative of a designer from New York."Melinda looked very surprised to hear the news, "Really? Then what did he say to you?” Melinda asked with a face full of curiosity.Celine immediately put on a sad expression, "My brother bullied me, saying that I took Hego from him. Not only that, he also said that I took his position in this family."Smith immediately took Celine into his arms, "Don't pay attention to what he says, you are papa's favorite daughter. Papa knows what your character is, only you will inherit all of Papa's wealth and
Elmer immediately took Belva into his car."I want to go home, my son is alone," said Belva worriedly as Elmer put himself in his car."Mama," Olaf called, approaching Elmer's car."Dear Olaf, where is Uncle Jonan?" Belva asked when Olaf was alone."Uncle Jonan is taking care of the man who injured you, I will come with you, is that okay uncle?" Olaf asked Elmer.Elmer with a big smile nodded, letting Olaf come with him.The Roll Royce car immediately left the hotel grounds."Damn it, so he had Uncle Hego behind him all this time?" Clara muttered cursingly when she saw Elmer and Belva."I'll tell papa and mama about this," muttered Clara, who also left the party.Elmer had arrived at his mansion, he quickly lifted Belva's body into his mansion."Uncle, please put me down, I have to go home," said Belva, making Elmer look into those beautiful eyes that he had missed for a long time."This is your house baby, where are you going home?" Elmer asked back, making Belva turn her gaze in ano
