The desires intensified

Dominic POV

I sat in the conference room, trying to focus on the presentation in front of me. But my thoughts kept drifting back to Charlene. She was a constant distraction, even though I hated her. There was something about her that I couldn't shake, no matter how hard I tried.

The kiss that we shared yesterday was something I never expected would happen. I was supposed to hate this woman for everything she had done to me but instead, I was thinking about her.

I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. I couldn't afford to let my emotions get in the way of business, especially not when it came to Charlene. She was a thorn in my side but that thorn was starting to become a rose.

"Mr. Maximus, I have Charlene on the line for you," my assistant said, interrupting my thoughts.

I opened my eyes and nodded, reaching for the phone on the table in front of me. "Put her through," I said, my voice sounding gruffer than I intended.

What the hell was she calling me fo
