“Yo! It’s Ellisa. I ran out of data so I burrowed Cassey’s but I can’t wait to tell you!” exclaimed Ellisa on the other line, making Rossie sigh in relief. That lasted for a moment and she realized what her best friend had said.

“Tell me what?” she almost shouts.

“I have some kind of lead but like it’s not official. You know Lucas, right? He said he knew the guy but he had a call-- irritating one so he had to cut me.” She rolls her eyes and that’s when Rossie realized that Ellisa was in the cubicle. Ellisa noticed her reaction. “Yes, bitch. I am sacrificing half of my break just to fucking tell you this stuff.”

“Thank you! You’re a freakin’ lifesaver! If you ever want to swap a day, I’ll swap the days off!”

“Oh stop! We have no information yet! Celebrate when you find your husband!”

“He’s not my husband!” Rossie snorted, giving that disgusted look.

“Shoot! I have to get back or TL will kill me! See ya later, missus!”

“What the--” Rossie could not continue when the call just suddenly ended. She groans loudly, tossing her phone. She’s not married. She doesn’t even know the man so she’ll never consider it one. Marriage is not a marriage when there’s no love involved.

That leads her to think about her parents. They’re still together but they are not in love anymore. They’re just staying in their marriage because they vowed. For better or worse and them not even communicating even though they’re in the same house is the worst. She quickly let go of the thought.

“I gotta find you quick,” she whispers before closing her eyes.

Rossie woke up again to the sound of her radar alarm. Her eyes were still drooping, shoulders slacked but as soon as she remembers about the information Lucas could give her, she get up faster than a bolt of lightning.

In about 30 minutes she was ready to go. She was never this quick that she could not even notice how peaceful it is waking up during the night. All that was in her head is that she needs to go to work right now.

She was too early. The excitement had her getting all anxious and now she was walking back and forth outside their fences. Her anxiousness doesn’t even let her sit down.

“What’s taking her so long?” she murmurs, rubbing her hands together. It’s really cold at midnight, her hands are freezing a lot so she had to rub them against each other.

At that moment, Rossie was about to go back inside when she saw that familiar car again. She knew it was his car, the other night she saw him too. While it approaches, her brows slowly draw together and as soon as it stopped in from of her she has a thin line on her mouth.

The window rolled down and the guy with a cocky grin faced her. It was the same guy who called her his wife and there was no mistaking it now. She remembers him alright.

“You!” she hissed but the man in the car remained smiling. “You knew who I was that night, huh? And you never warned me about it?”

“ I was going to but you were a bit mean. Plus, I called you my wife. That's one,” he nonchalantly answered.

“You-- did you turn over those papers to the registry to get back at me for leaving you at the altar?” Rossie angrily asked. Her voice was too loud that it somehow awakened someone in the house.

The moment she saw those lights turned on, she panicked, opening the car door closest to her and just getting inside, yelling, “Go, go, go!”. She hears him laughing as they drive away. But she was busy looking back at their house. Her parents could’ve seen this new car and speculated.

“I didn’t know you would like a ride,” he chuckles.

“I don’t. Pull over on the next block and we’ll talk about this accident.”

“Who the heck gets in a stranger’s car? Nobody taught you to be cautious?”

“I married a stranger. I have no time to be cautious!” she said, irritation in her voice. When he didn’t stop on the next block she jerks her head to him, glaring. “I said pull over!”

He smiled, keeping his eyes on the empty street, ignoring her. She blurted a deep sigh, rolling her eyes. If she tries to grab the wheel, they’ll both die.

“You should know better when you entered my car,” he uttered. “Better text your friend. Save her time.”

The way he sounds alarmed Rossie. Now she feels stupid getting inside this car and trapping herself with this man. But she can’t also help but notice how he sounds like. His voice sounds like those sexy vampires in movies. She always has a thing about them.

Why am I thinking like this? She asked herself, shaking her head lightly. What the hell is going on inside her mind?

“Listen,” she looks at him with a serious face, “We’re getting a divorce.”

In somewhere dark and stinky, Rossie and Kenneth were thrown by Garry's men into what seemed to be an attic of an old resthouse. It was full of dust and cobwebs. Unlike the room Derek got for her, this one has no light, no nothing and she was thankful the moon started to show and gave a little bit of moonlight. They have been in that car, traveling for so long and she feels thirsty. She was thankful Kenneth stayed by her side.
