“Has something happened, Gordon?” Belinda asked in a low voice.

“No,” Mr. Gordon replied.

“If not, why didn’t you answer when I called earlier? Why didn’t you proceed with our plan?” Belinda questioned with some distrust.

Mr. Gordon explained, “I was too busy evacuating everyone earlier and couldn’t answer the phone. They seem to have caught on to our plan and responded with their arrangements. If we take any sort of action, we’ll not only fail, but we’ll even end up getting caught, which will be very disadvantageous for us.”

“You mean they have men waiting around the cemetery, just waiting for us to act so they can catch us red-handed?”
