Serenity took the little boy in her arms and sat him on her lap.

Then she grabbed a piece of tissue to wipe his tears away.

He missed her even more now that she had called.

“Really? Then I won’t cry anymore. Mom, won’t Dunc and I disturb your work?”

Sonny really did miss his mother, but he also knew she was very busy and was worried his visit would disturb her work.

Liberty said gently, “It’s fine. You’re coming for the weekend and Mom rests on weekends too. And I want to spend time with you even if I don’t get to rest.”
