Chapter 77. Winner of Heart

Ann-Mary's graceful steps stopped in a room upstairs. Ann-Mary opened the room and entered. From the front door, Clarabelle looked at the entire contents of the fairly large room. Clarabelle was stunned. The room was like a kid’s room. The walls were painted white with a mix of bright blue and red.

On the main wall was a large frame with a photo of a boy. There were shelves full of books and toys. Also, the big boxes, Clarabelle sure were full of toys too. In the middle of the room was a table and some child-sized chairs.

Ann-Mary sat in one of those chairs. She gestured for Clarabelle to come in and sit next to her. Questioningly, Clarabelle complied. What did Mrs. Hayden want?

“This is Jordan and James' playroom when they were kids. Every day they spend here. Laughing together, joking, and fantasizing about things develops their imagination.” Without being asked, Ann-Mary began to tell her story.
