"Are you writing?" Lily inquired, watching Maisie type away. "What's it about? A novel?"

"Are you working on a novel, miss?" Rachael observed her books. "These look like study materials. Are you preparing for an exam?"

Maisie smiled and remained silent.

Lily promptly apologized, "We don't mean to pry. A lovely girl like you, with books, coffee, and a laptop—it just seemed too artistic! You're perfect for my company!"
