95. Safe hands

"How are you feeling?" I asked Sarah as she came to sit beside me on the bed. I had just helped her take her bath and applied some ointment on her before giving her clean clothes to wear.

She cried for over an hour while apologizing to us. I wanted to ask a lot. I have a lot to ask but now wasn't the right time to apologize to her.

"I'm feeling fine," she replied.

My mother was yet to come. My father had informed her the minute we brought her over to my place and we gave her food to eat but she refused to eat as she said she couldn't eat.

Adrian said he'd call doctors to come to check on her so that we would know if there was anything wrong with her.

"Do you want to lie down?" I asked her.

I didn't know what exactly to say to do right now. I want her to be fine and happy. I do not want her to think.

"Thanks so much for coming," she said for the umpteenth time.

"You have to stop saying that already. You are here and that's all that matters," I told her.

"Sarah!"
