LOGINAurora’s POVI sighed, leaving my room and heading to the rough top. I think about 3 hours have passed by, and I only turned around on the bed. I couldn’t sleep no matter how hard I tried, and I am far away from sleep. I decided to go to the rooftop and maybe stare into the night; maybe then I would feel tired. I tied my robe around me tightly, only wearing a nightgown and a robe tied over it. The robe was long and flowing behind me. I used the elevator, and soon, I got to the rooftop.I opened the door, and I was glad the rooftop was empty. I sighed, walking fully in; however, I stopped in my tracks when I noticed Norman looking over the city. He wore his black office pants and a black shirt, which he had rolled up the sleeves of. I walked towards him, and when I got close, I realised he was smoking. I stood beside him quietly, looking over the city. Some cars were on the road, and a few trucks were passing by honking. I loved how gentle the breeze was, and I felt calm, away from all
Aurora’s POVThe crowd clapped loudly, cheering Norman and me as we climbed up the stage. He was holding my hand softly while I held my gown up so I wouldn’t trip over. Tonight, Norman and I are launching a new automobile, and we have been planning this for the past three years. Tonight is finally the night, and tonight, we are going to unveil the vehicle. The crowd continued clapping as we stood on the stage in front of the mics; I almost got blinded by the flashes, but I was used to it.“Good evening, lady and gentlemen. Thank you for honouring us tonight. As you all know, my name is Norman Anderson, CEO and founder of Norman’s Group, and this is Ms Aurora King, CEO of Sinclair’s Empire. About three years ago, we began a journey, a collaboration…” I turned Norman off because it is going to be a long speech. The only things I could hear were the flashes and Norman’s voice. The past three years have been amazing, with lots of ups and downs, but nothing too much to handle. Work has bee
Aurora’s POV“Hello,” I said with a cheerful voice as I walked into Dad’s study. He was behind his big wooden desk, holding a book. He looked up, and when he saw me, his face lifted up in a smile.“What are you reading?” I asked, dropping my bag. He dropped the book, breathing out.“Just some book,” he replied, standing up. He came to me, and we shared a slight hug.“Just coming back from the office, and I wanted to stop by because I want to discuss something with you,” I said. “Oh really? Have a seat,” he said, and we both sat on the couch in his study. “Norman sent a proposal to the office,” I said. Dad looked back at me, shocked.“Really?” he asked. I nodded.“Yes, Quinn looked quite surprised, and you also look surprised by it. Why?” I asked. Dad sighed. “I am guessing you did some research on him?” he asked. I nodded.“All you read is true; the only difference is the media aren’t aware of a few things,” he said. I hummed; it’s always like that. “Norman was my godson, and he w
Aurora POV“This is a proposal from Norman Anderson,” my secretary, Rosie, said. Quinn looked up as she heard the name, and she quickly collected the file, flipping through it. We were in my office, and we were tending to some files. A week has passed after that party, and I would admit that I have totally forgotten about him. I didn’t even ask Dad about their relationship. It completely skipped my mind. Now, my attention has been brought back to him, and I wondered why Quinn was interested in the proposal.“He declined all the proposals I sent to him,” she mumbled, flipping through it, and Rosie glanced at me. “Why is this a big deal?” I asked. She snapped out of her thoughts and cleared her throat. She handed the file to me, and I flipped through it.“Mr Anderson refused to work with our company before, and we sent him tons of proposals, all of which he ignored. I am surprised he wants to work with us now after rejecting us countless times,” she said, switching to a professional mo
Aurora POV“Paul told me what happened during the conference meeting,” Dad said, coming to stand beside me, and I smiled. “I had a feeling he would; he was really proud,” I said, taking a drink from the passing server. “Why did you leave that piece of information out? All you said was it was a success,” he said to me. I took a sip of my drink and turned to him. “Well, it was a success. I didn’t leave anything out,” I said. He narrowed his eyes at me and then rolled his eyes.“Truly, you are just like me,” he replied. I laughed. It wasn’t anything to brag about; it’s too early to brag about my achievement. When the time is due, I would.“I can’t believe they have been stealing from the company. I appointed Robinson myself as the CEO. This is one of the things you should learn. In the business world there would always be betrayals. It can’t be helped,” he said, and I agreed with him. That’s why you shouldn’t trust anyone but yourself. “Well, good thing I caught them. Mr Paul is deal
Aurora’s POVI walked down the hallway with my assistant and secretary behind me. Today is the quarterly conference meeting, and it just happens to be my third month since I became the CEO. Being the CEO has been bittersweet. There have been a lot of times when I became so overwhelmed by all happening around me and confused about what I am doing. Those days, I usually run to Dexter, Dad or Sanjay and sometimes Papa. I am so thankful for them; I have no idea what I would have done without their vision and help. The staff and the board are watching me closely, and it’s very obvious their loyalty lies with Quinn. People expect me to be in a competition with her, but I am not doing any of that. I learn from her when necessary, and I ask questions when they’re needed. One of Papa's greatest pieces of advice was telling me not to see her as my competition and enemy. Unless it warrants it. I see the look she gives me sometimes and the pride when people turn to her instead of me as the CEO.
