Scarlet walked out of the office and slammed the door after her, shut. She stood there, her lips trembled due to sadness, her eyes slowly filling with tears. She felt her heart being shuttered into pieces everywhere. She was in shambles. His words hurt her so badly. She felt like she had fallen into cactus and her heart had been panctured a million times over by tiny pins. Right now, she needed someone to talk to, a friend and a shoulder to lean on. The only person she could think of was Aviana. With trembling hands, Scarlet took out her phone from her bag and made the call. Aviana answered the call instantly, "Hey, Scarlet." Scarlet went silent all of a sudden. Aviana frowned. "Scarlet? Are you there?" Scarlet wiped at her tears that were starting to overflow and answered after a while, in a rather calm voice as she tried to mask her sadness. "Yes, Avi. I'm here." Unfortunately for her, Aviana noticed that everything wasn't okay with her friend. This was the first time she had
Aviana had been sitting behind her desk working when she heard someone knock on the door. She was expecting Scarlet, so she stood up immediately and rushed to open the door. She opened the door, and Scarlet stood there, low-spirited. Tears were slowly filling in her eyes and her lips were trembling. Her hand was clenched on the bag she was carrying on her shoulder while the other hand, she let it fall on her side. Aviana was extremely shocked and worried for her at the same time when she saw the tears in her eyes. "Scarlet?" She stepped closer. "Are you okay?" Scarlet was silent. She continued to just stand there and stared at Aviana, the tears in her eyes threatening to spill and at the same time she was holding the tears back, fighting to keep them from falling. Aviana had never seen this fragile side of Scarlet. She always knew Scarlet to be a tough girl, a girl who would never let anyone see her tears, atleast she had never seen her sad. Now, she looked so broken. Aviana could
A yellow cab halted in front of G&K company. A cute little boy, probably the age of seven years, exited the cab. The boy wore a white blouse, he had a red tie neatly adorned around his neck, a pair of red and black stripped trouser and a pair of black shoes. He carried his school bag on his back. The boy was about to head inside the building, however, the cab driver stopped him and asked for his money. Hayden apologized immediately and took out a few notes from his trouser pocket and handed them to the old man. "Sorry. I'm just so excited to see my uncle." "Does your uncle work here?" "No and Yes. He actually owns the company, so he's the boss here. His name is Ethan Urkel. Do you know him?" "Yes. I have heard a lot about him. Alright, kiddo. It was nice doing business with you. See you." The cab driver drove off. Hayden immediately made a u-turn and went inside the building. "Wow!" he exclaimed in surprise as soon as he got in, attracting the attention of the receptionist. The
Hayden frowned deeply watching Ethan laugh. Ethan stopped laughing for a moment. He asked, "So, you like a girl –" Hayden interrupted him suddenly. "Love. I love her." "Sorry. You love a girl that is in your class!? The girl's name is Natasha!? And, you want her to be your girlfriend, you just don't know how to ask her or tell her!?" It was more of a statement than a question. Hayden simply nodded his head. And again, Ethan laughed. He leaned his back on the chair and laughed uncontrollably. Hayden was annoyed. "What's so funny, uncle Ethan!?" "Nothing," Ethan simply said while he continued to laugh. "No, I don't think so. Did I make a mistake coming to you for advice? I should probably leave," Hayden was about to get down from the desk. However, Ethan stopped him immediately. He said, "Alright. Alright. Alright. I won't laugh anymore." But, he was still laughing. "You're still laughing!" Hayden exclaimed, extremely annoyed. "Okay. Now, I'm serious." Ethan took a deep breath
As soon as Ethan walked through the door, everyone turned their heads to look at their boss, shock written all over their faces. As usual, Ethan wore a three-pieced suit, black in color and he accompanied the outfit with a pair of black shoes. Everyone could perceive that there was something different about their boss, today, from the moment he walked through the door. He was emitting a different aura today compared to the other days when he would walk in and everyone would look down immediately and continue working, and dared not look at him even for a second. But, today for some reasons they didn't look down, they found themselves staring at him and not wanting to look down. Their boss looked like he was in a good mood – good was even underrated. And, as if to confirm that their speculations were right, Ethan greeted them. "Good morning, everyone." "Good morning, Sir," they replied simultaneously. "Good morning, Jenny," he greeted the receptionist too, and the smile on his face d
Three consecutive days passed and Aviana didn't show up in the mansion like she always did. Old Mr Urkel, who was sitting behind his desk inside his study room seemed to be pre-occupied with his thoughts. He saw how determined she was for the past days she had been coming to the mansion, to win him over. She made it a routine to pay him a visit everyday and not once did she fail to show up and neither was she late. However, for a couple of days now, he didn't see her. Old Mr Urkel couldn't help but wonder why? Maybe, she decided to give up after all, he thought. At that moment, the door opened. Instantly, Old Mr Urkel looked towards the door thinking that it was her. But to his disappointment the maid walked in carrying his evening coffee. She placed it on the table and left. But, before walking away, Old Mr Urkel instructed her to tell the butler to see him immediately. A while later, the butler went inside the study room. He said, "Sir. You asked to see me?""She hasn't visited
Aviana had nothing else doing at the moment and she didn't want to go home yet, either. She still had one last important task for the day to do before she left and it was not yet time to carry it out. Aviana joined Maggy and May in the kitchen to help prepare the family's dinner. She offered to slice the tomatoes and onions and prepare the ingredients. At first, the maids were reluctant to agree to her offer. They were afraid. What if the young master found her helping them in the kitchen when it was their responsibility to cook the family's dinner and not hers, won't they be in trouble? "Ma'am. It's not as if we don't want you to help us or anything. It's just that – we don't want to get into any trouble with the young master," Maggy spoke trying as much as possible not offend their young master's woman with her words. "Oh, Ethan? Well, he isn't here. So, you don't have to worry about getting into any trouble. Besides, helping you prepare the family's dinner isn't a bad thing." "
Aviana went straight to Old Mr Urkel's study room. She decided to take Hayden's suggestion to go for a walk outside the villa with Ethan's father. The family dinner would be ready in thirty minutes, she saw this as the best time and opportunity to do the task. The chances that he would not agree were very high, but she was willing to give it a try, who knows, he might agree. "God, help me," Aviana spoke a silent prayer. Then, she took a deep breath before she worked up the courage and knocked on the door. "Who is it?" Old Mr Urkel's indifferent voice asked. "It's me, Aviana," Aviana answered and what followed next was a prolonged silence. 'Please, don't ask me to go away. Please, don't ask me to go away,' she prayed inwardly while she waited anxiously. "Come in," Old Mr Urkel spoke after a while, making Aviana to rejoice inwardly even though she was yet to accomplish the bigger task ahead which was convincing him to go for a walk with her outside the villa. Immediately, she ope
