KATALINA.

It was cool and quiet when I woke up. Looking around, I knew that we were airborne instantly. This was Huracio’s private cabin. I tried to get up, but a sharp pain shot through my spine, reminding me to stay put.

On our way home, everything that happened on the weekend still felt like a dream. I lifted my ring finger and took a proper look at the new ring for the first time. It was pretty. The diamond was bigger and brighter. It looked more delicate than the former one. It was something he made while thinking of me.

Questions raced through my head, but most importantly, I was very happy. His words kept ringing in my ears. This ring was specially made for you. That was what he said.

I struggled to sit up, but once I got into position, I regretted moving at all. Everywhere ached. My neck, my joints, my backside, in-between my legs, even my toes didn't like moving. To cap it all, a slight ache started growing from the back of my head. For about five minutes, it quickly spr

KATALINA The Villa we live in is in the suburbs and quite some distance from the city. I will be resuming college in two weeks, and Huracio even spoke of getting me a new car. Getting a house registered in my name was something that came out of nowhere. When we went to visit the place, I was shocked. It is just a 10-minute drive from school in light traffic and about a 15-minute drive during rush hours. The house is a two-story duplex with two bungalow attachments. It was located in a gated community that is considered upscale in this city. The main house has seven rooms. Three rooms on the first and second floor, and two on the ground floor. It came furbished, but he wanted me to add my personal touch since it is mine. Though I have changes I would like to make, there wasn't enough time, so I decided to just focus on the kitchen. It had no gadgets whatsoever. To grow my relationship with Rosa, I got Huracio to invite her to go shopping for kitchen utensils with Emilia and me.

“Look, is this your husband?" She brought her phone to my face, and when I saw that picture, I felt chilled to the bones. So chilled, I started shivering.“Yes. That is my husband, Huracio Ignatius." I whispered. Hot tears threatened to fall off my face, but I knew it wasn't time to cry. There is no way I am giving my enemies a chance to mock me. Losing the confusion from before, I looked her in the eye with a cold gaze. One that made her straighten her back. “How long have you been sleeping with my husband?" “What? I should be asking you that." She snapped at me angrily. “I am married to him. You are not." I sneered back. They all gasped in shock. "He is married?” One of them blurted out in utter shock. "Yes. He's been married for three months. Just came back from our honeymoon last week.” "Really?” The green-eyed girl answered. A mischievous smirk slowly appeared on her face. My heart twitched and my hands clenched, suppressing the urge to smack her face. They pulled a pu

I didn't mean to say that " The fear in her eyes was chilling. Seeing this, I realized something. This green-eyed girl must be terrifying. I should get rid of her as soon as possible. “Look, girl. I don't want any trouble. The last girl who tried to get bitchy with me ended up in a wheelchair. Unless you want to go down that path, I will advise that you back off now. Huracio doesn't play with me." "What? Are you threatening me?” She sniggered. "Don't be so confident. You have been married for just three months, yet almost every day I spend the night at your house fucking your husband while you snore away.” She rocked with confidence, her voice dripping with mockery."You were at my house? Lies!” I yelled at her, losing my composure for the first time. How could she be at the house and I

KATALINA “Rosa!!" I yelled angrily, the moment I stepped out of the car. After spending three months in this house, I now knew where all the staff lived. It is a detached house at the back of the main building. I headed that way but met Rosa just as I was about to make a corner. “Miss Kata…”"Where is it? Take me to her room!" I snapped in her face the moment I set my eyes on her. She looked so confused that I would have laughed at her bewilderment if the situation wasn't dire. "Miss, I don't understand. What room?" "His mistress's room. I know you know where it is. Take me there. I want to see it right now.” "Miss, you are mistaken. There is no… " "Shut up. Shut up, shut up!” I screamed in her face. My eyes were so wild that even I could feel the strain. She took several steps back and Stone suddenly appeared between us. "What's going on, Miss Katalina?" He gravelly asked. "You too. HURACIO“Do not touch anything. I am on my way." I grunted into the phone after seeing the clips of what Katalina reduced my house to. Two hours later, I was standing in the middle of the kitchen, unable to comprehend the devastation surrounding me. Everything was broken, toppled, and trashed. “Whose blood…”"I think she hurt her legs," Rosa replied. My heart tightened at her words. "Get me the first aid box," I grumbled and hurried upstairs. Opening the door, I met her sprawled on the ground, sleeping. She was wearing a bathrobe which covered everything. I reached out to lift the hems so I could check her wounds. They were covered in scratches of different degrees. There were small patches of dried blood near her feet, and her white robe was also stained.Sighing, I made to scoop her off the floor, thinking she was deeply asleep considering how tired she looked. Instantly, she jerked out of her sleep and glared at me. Her eyes were red and wild. “Kitty…” "You son of a bitch!

Chapter 54: AneHURACIO. Beep, beep. My phone vibrated, indicating an incoming message. It was from Malik. Ane had been taken to the pit. Sighing, I stood up and headed for the underground torture chamber. Getting there, I found her tied up in a chair. She looked as scared as hell.I stood outside the window, watching her. She had her head bowed, with her hair covering her face. She was crying silently. The past week has been very tedious. The situation in Africa is at a boiling point. Adore Ridges survived the attack in Nigeria, and his counteraction has set off a domino effect that has forced Salvatore to travel to Africa while I am left to handle everything on this end. Therefore, running back home to find Katalina throwing a stupid tantrum was very upsetting. Except, I wasn't even mad at her. I was mad at this girl. If she didn't seek Katalina out, everything that happened wouldn't have happened. It was her fault. As I stepped into my designated torture chamber, her head sn

KatalinaI woke up cold. Remembering where I was, I couldn't help but fall into despair. I tried to coil up and generate some warmth, but my legs were stiff from being squeezed together all night. The worst part of this was my full bladder. It was pressing down so hard, urging me to let go, but I dared not. As a dog, there are rules to be followed. I can only eat when my master gives me food. I can only sleep in my dog cage and move on all fours. I must always have my collar and dog mask on.I am not allowed to speak human language without permission. I have learned dog languages like barking, whimpering, whining, and panting. I must always pant with my tongue hanging out in the presence of my master. I must take permission to pee or go to the toilet. In fact, Huracio intentionally made me drink a large bowl of water the previous night, so as to use a full bladder to punish me in the morning. As a dog, I have no sense of self. I belong to my master and my only purpose is to p

HURACIO The trip to my office was silent as Katalina was catching up on her sleep. Getting there, I led her by the leash into my private elevator. I made sure we arrived early to avoid the staff and the humiliation of getting stared at like a freak. Though nobody can Identify her due to the mask, I would rather spare her the trauma. When we got to my office, I ordered her into the cage in my resting room, then went back to my desk without feeding her. Around 10 am, Malik arrived with Ane. She was wearing a pink dog-jumpsuit costume, and led by the leash. Unlike Katalina, she enjoys being a spectacle and would seize the chance to shine if the situation wasn't dire. “Boss, she is here.” Malik pulled her in. “Woof, woof, woof.” The moment she saw me, she started jumping around, barking, and whimpering. She rolled around, wagging her tail. Unlike Katalina who was still practicing her barks, Ane's barks were sensual and fragile. It makes you want to pick her up and rub her like a r

Katalina I watched helplessly as Hoseok reached out and my son joyfully fell into his arms. He stepped into the elevator and the door closed. “Hey, buddy. What are you doing here?” Hoseok asked David in a gentle voice. Instead of answering, David just buried his face in Hoseok's neck, pretending to be shy. “Good morning, Mr. Kim.” I greeted him, solemnly. He instantly furrowed his brows, completely displeased by the way I addressed him. “Catherine, when are you going to stop doing this?” He groaned. I just smiled and kept staring at the elevator's button panel. “Wasn't David supposed to start school today?” He asked after a beef silence. “Yeah. We came here from his school. He refused to stay and I was running late. So, I just brought him here. We will try again tomorrow.” “David, is that true?” He ruffled the boy's head and asked. “Yes.” David pouted. “I wanted to

Katalina “Mummy, I don't want to go to school anymore!” David held my leg and started crying.“David, baby. Didn't you say you are a big boy, and that you want to become a pilot?” “Yes, Mummy.” He pursed his lips and nodded. Balls of tears rolled down his chubby cheeks, while his bright eyes gazed at me like that of an aggrieved puppy. “If you want to be a pilot, you have to go to school. We talked about this. You promised you would go. You promised you would be a good boy. Remember, big boys don't go back on their words, right?” “Right, mummy. But let's come back tomorrow. I don't want to go today.” He insisted, stomping the ground.Checking the time, it was already 8:28 am. I woke up early to avoid running late, but with David throwing tantrums, I started contemplating calling my HR to let her know that I would be running late. “David, dearly. I really have to go to work. Be a good boy and stay in school, okay. See, there are so many kids to play

Katalina.Dinner was rice, curry chicken, french salad, and orange juice. David ate his pizza, and I had to talk him into eating some of the salad as he doesn't like veggies. After dinner, David watched more TV while I continued knitting the sweater. Emilia should be back soon, but I was feeling sleepy. So, I decided to watch the news on my phone. My favorite NEWS TV is MoTV as it is from home. I missed the headlines, but got to listen to the full details of the first headline which was about the political situation of the country. Elections are around the corner and manifestos are flying around like a flu. It was quite interesting watching clips from rallys and analysis from observers. After that, the next thing that came on made me gasp. It was Huracio, and the news about him sent me into a fit of coughs. David had dozed off while watching the cartoon, but the moment I started coughing, he woke up and started crying. I hurried over to him and scooped him in

Katalina“David!, David!” It's Saturday and I was on the balcony knitting a sweater when I noticed that the house was too quiet. Looking around, David, my four year old, was gone. Just a few minutes ago, he was playing with a green croc toy on the other side of the balcony. I listened for any rustling sound, but got nothing. I called out a couple of times, yet, nothing. This on a normal day means that he is getting the house messed up.I dropped the wool and stood up. Opened the door and stepped into the house. The living room was empty, and it was eerily quiet. “David, where are you?” I hurried to the kitchen, but it was also empty. Two days ago, he snuck into the double-door fridge, trying to get the chocolate we bought at the mall that afternoon. I had intentionally placed the chocolate box on the highest shelf in the fridge, but David figured out how to climb up to retrieve it. It was the loud noise of his crash that alerted me to it. And t

Huracio“You are pushing your luck, Huracio.” Salvatore growled at me. Completely ignoring him, I continued packing up my bag. After missing Katalina’s sailing ship, I decided to follow it. I had Stone prepare a list of all her stopovers. I wanted to arrive ahead of the ship and cross her there, but Salvatore was trying to stop me. If anyone was crossing any bottomline, he was the one crossing mine. He stood by the door to my room, watching me pack up. I could feel his anger, but at that moment, I didn't care about it. I was ready to blow everything up to get out of that place. I finished up, zipped my bag, and grabbed it. I then headed for the door as if he was air. “I said you are going nowhere!” He stepped in front of me, blocking the door.“Salvatore, don't do this. This is not the time. My wife and my child are out there. My son is out there, running around. If you think you can stop me, you will have to kill me to do it.” I looked him dead in the eyes and growled. Frowning

Realizing that he was serious, I dropped my pen and huffed. I then opened my email to see that he had indeed sent over some files four days ago. “Why did you send me this?” “Have you read it?” “I am just seeing it.” “Huracio!” Salvatore glared, finally stepping into the office and closing the door. “What?” I snapped back. “I just resumed work today. If it was so urgent, why didn't you give me a heads up?” “You are becoming more unreasonable.” “Who is unreasonable here? You gave me a fake lead. You made me go round in circles for days, finding nothing.” He walked over and sat in the chair facing me. “Renald and I have collectively agreed to let you and Celine handle the first phase of the M

That's what happened.” “...” “Are you sure that's what happened?” Rosa asked me cautiously. “What? You think I wanted to kill myself?” I asked, sounding incredulous. Like I haven't thought of that. Of course, I have, but I wasn't going to admit that I was that weak. “Rosa, what's the time? I have to leave this place.” I raised my brows at the only person who didn't look like she was about to punch me in the face. “You have missed it.” She snorted. “What do you mean?” “It's been three days since you fainted. You have been out for two days. Today is the third day.” She explained. “Fuck!” I sat up and looked around. “Where is my phone?” “Who are you calling?” “I have a date with someone. Huracio “You finally decided to show up?” Salvatore glared at me the moment I stepped into the club. Didn't wake up until midday. I woke up hungry as hell, — with a cold, and a slight headache. Returning to the club, I found Salvatore angry and waiting for my return. “What is it?” I asked groggily. “I thought we had a deal?”“What deal?” “Huracio!” He growled. I have not seen him snap like that in a long while, but I wasn't even bothered. Whatever was hitting my head was relentless by the time I got home, and I was seeing double. Therefore, his anger got nothing on me. I just wanted to lie down and wish the headache away. “I had Celine with me all night, but you were nowhere to be found. Where did you go?” Ignoring him, I made to go past him, but he grabbed me and shook me. “I am talking to you.” He sneered. “I really can't do this now, Salvatore.” I whimpered as a chill buzz all over my body. I was trying not to shiver despite how cold I felt. Probably because of my voice

Huracio Good company, ugh? I tried to remember what we did the last time that made me good company. All that came to mind was lots of alcohol and pills. Considering how shitty I felt after that dizzy spell, alcohol and pills was a good idea. “Okay, let's go.” I stood up and headed for the sloppy side of the rock. Brenda, Sophia's blue yacht, was one of the biggest boats docking at Pecan beach. Normally, the docking area is usually quiet and private. But tonight, lots of people were hanging around, necking, smooching, or just talking. It was a lewd sight. Seeing this Sophia paused and frowned. “Maybe we should go into the open water? It's crowded here. Don't you think?” She asked as we climbed into the yacht. “Can you drive?” “Can't you?” She raised her brows. “I can.” “Then we are good.” Shrugging, I entered the boat and entered the cockpit. After making some check-ups, I unanchored the yacht and headed into the water. In the middle of nowhere, with just water on all side
