What the heart wants

I don't know anymore and for the first time, I'm actually scared of losing someone. I'm scared of losing him.

To think that someone I didn't know three months ago would mean the world to me a few weeks after knowing him is something I'd laugh at if I were told earlier.

“I can see through you, Christabel. I know when you're not fine. We might have just met but I can tell when you're in a sour mood.” Andre clasped his left hand and mine together and stared deep into my eyes, like he's looking for something, anything.

I sighed. “It's nothing.”

“It's something but I won't force you to tell me.” He continued and never let go of our joined hands.

My hands fitted in his, like it was meant to be there, like we were meant to be.

“Why did you marry me?” I asked as we walked down the hallway towards his room.

“You were outstanding. You've always been.”

I frowned. “I've always been?”

He was about to respond when his phone rang. “I have to go to my office now. I'm running late.” He patted my shoulder and went straight into his room.

Although I was confused, I decided to lend every question till later. I can go out to visit Vivian today and spend some time with her. That should get my mind off everything that happened yesterday.

–·_·–

“Did he, really?” Vivian's mouth was agape as she stared at me wide eyed.

“I wouldn't lie about that, would I?”

We decided to meet at the restaurant where she worked and I so happened to call just before she got off work.

Seeing Vivian is nostalgic because we've seen each other at our worst and best and we only have each other.

Well, now I have Andre and she has a job, the job she'd always wanted. The restaurant so happens to be owned by Damian, my brother-in-law and his wife was the one in control of the restaurant.

“I trust you, girl and I know you wouldn't lie about anything but did he really say he wanted you to leave his uncle or he'd stab you to death?” Vivian squinted her eyes in a knowing manner.

“Alright. He didn't say it that way and please, we are at his parents’ restaurant. Let's keep it down, shall we?”

“I knew he didn't say he'd kill you. You exaggerate a lot so I could tell. Plus, he doesn't have it in him to kill. He bluffs way too much for his own good.”

And we both laughed at her last statement.

“I remember one of the times we met before we started our unfortunate relationship, he wasn't allowed into the VIP section of a club and he claimed his uncle owned the entire MacDee Conglomerate.”

Vivian laughed again and I joined her too until it dawned on me that he wasn't lying. MacDee is the shorter version for the name McDonalds and that's Andre’s surname. Vivian comprehended this too and soon stopped laughing. Maybe, just maybe, he wasn't bluffing. He was telling the truth.

“What if he wasn't bluffing about killing you?” Vivian asked.

“He didn't say he'd kill me, I exaggerated” I corrected her and she nodded.

Vivian isn't a typical girl. She's black, blonde and she has green eyes. Her exact origin is unknown and she could have been a freak but she didn't see herself as one and didn't let anyone treat her as one either.

“You dyed your hair again?” I found myself asking.

She's been dyeing her hair since she was thirteen, something about finding the perfect hair color combo.

Most of the time, she's on her natural hair color but a few times when she wants to experiment, she does crazy colors like blue and green and purple all together.

“Thanks for stating the obvious at the end of our meeting.” She said sarcastically and rolled her eyes.

“Well I'd prefer it if you just dye it brown or leave it blonde but no, it has to be something crazy and now, a peach and orange ombre? When will this ever end?”

“Oh my…” she laughed so heartily that people around had to spare us glances.

I muttered a ‘tone it down’ and she struggled to contain her laughter but she did, finally.

We stayed together catching up on many memories until it was getting late and time for me to head back home.

“George! I will stand with you between the heavens and the earth, I will tell you where you are. Do you love me?”

“I love you!” for a while, my heart was at peace before George continued his unplanned love confession “From the moment……” and that was all I needed to hear.

I admired Charlotte's courage as I watched the series and her love for George despite the way his mum treated her.

She was just a girl oblivious to the fact that Farmer George isn't mentally stable. It got me thinking, if Andre was faced with a challenge, would I stay? I should, right?

It's expected of me to stay but what if I don't have the strength to endure things like Charlotte? What if what I want isn't a complicated life Collins?

“Ma, Sir Andre is home.” A voice said right after I heard a knock on my door.

I shut down the laptop in front of me and like a little child, I skiddled over to the door, heading for where Andre should be upon his arrival.

Joan's POV“That bitch must think she’s the queen right now, ruling in a kingdom she doesn’t belong in. How could Andre be so foolish to love an animal like Christabel?” I said, pacing around my room so angrily while holding a glass of whiskey in my right hand. I was so furious about how helpless I felt in this situation and disgusted at the fact that Andre went for a slut as cheap as Christabel. “If you ask me, I’ll say she’s lucky you know, not everyone can bag a real man like your uncle, Joan. He is definitely the real deal” Tina spoke from the bed, holding a blunt of weed and glass of whiskey also.Tina was my new fish and a fucking ass gold digger whose intentions were well known to me. I didn’t care because we were not romantically involved or interested in each other, we just shared the same interests sexually and otherwise. She moved in with me a few weeks ago and had learned about everything that went on with Andre and Christabel, seeing how much I talked about it. She was

  • Married To My Ex's Uncle    Bringing in the Ex

Joan's POVI called Jacqueline that morning and we agreed to meet at a restaurant close to where I stayed. The meeting was nothing special, not like I had expected it to be. She had not changed much from the way she used to look, talk and even dress, and she was still as ambitious and selfish as ever. If there was anything I was glad about, it was the fact that she was an ex from the past, one who was dead to Andre and forgotten, and one who never again stood a chance at his love, because he obviously deserved better.“So you wanted to see me to talk about your uncle, right? The same uncle you warned me never to go close to if I wanted to remain alive?” She asked with a smirk, while quoting what I said a long time ago before she left. She had hurt my uncle so bad and made him cry just because she chose to fuck his business partner who she thought was much more richer and influential than my uncle, only to see that he was nothing but his subordinate.“Yes and nothing about what I sa

I was taken aback a little, because it was the first time anyone would dare call me broke and not be wrong about it. And for once in my life, even if it was not as bad as most guys out there, I could relate to the sadness and loneliness they often felt because of poverty.“Why do you suddenly care so much, whether I choose to stay or leave, it’s not like you are in love with me or something. We both know that I’m only here to satisfy your needs, which is what I have done ever since I came.” Tina barked, getting angry at the fact that I was trying to emotionally blackmail her.“I agreed to stay with you for the things I stood to gain and you knew that, we both were gaining from each other, or atleast was supposed to, before things turned out like this. Christabel's POV It was another sweet morning of waking up in the hands of a man who cherished me more than life itself and I could not get enough of it and no matter how long we stayed going to bed together and waking up together, it always seemed like the first time. I still had butterflies in my stomach when I watched him sleep, and when he would wake up and kiss me for the longest before going to have his bath. He had made bathing with him a routine and would get mad if I didn’t feel like going in with him, it was more like he could no longer have a proper bath without me.“Good morning sunshine” he said, kissing me back to reality as I hadn’t realized him waking up, because I was deeply lost in thoughts. “Morning hunny, what would you like to have this morning for breakfast?” I asked, reciprocating his kisses before climbing out of bed“You please” he answered smugly, moving towards me like a cute puppy and I almost fell for it.“Well I’m sorry to disappoint you, young sir, b

For someone so young, Melody was too chirpy for her good. Nonetheless, I bit my lip, looking at her with doubt on my face, "do you think so?""Of course!" She assured causing some of the doubts to roll but still, I was nervous. Today was a huge day for me and Andre, as it was our official wedding. You might be wonder

I balled my fists, as I threaded through the dark street, the flickering light from a street lamp, obscuring my vision. It was late at night, but everything seemed like day to me. I pushed a wooden board out of the way, looking behind to see if there was anyone following before I went in. The room went dark as I closed the only source of light from getting in before walking in deeper. "Bobby is that you?" A deep voice sounded in the dark and I rolled my eyes in annoyance. Ignoring the question, I strolled deeper into the room only for me to stop, as he stood in front of me. "What do you want?" I growled, feeling a vein tick at the side of my neck. Through the dark, I saw him flinch, shaking his head as he backed away, probably recognizing my voice."S–sorry," he stammered, taking steps back.He should

A fog covered the mask as he breathed through an oxygen mask, his chest a slow rise and falling. My eyes rested on his wrist, which was bandaged, a patch of blood appearing on the white material. What were you thinking Andre?"I felt my eyes sting, and I blinked to stop the water from falling. The male's voice boomed through the wooden doors, echoing in the empty restaurant. I couldn't make do with what the woman said, but it riled the man up.
