Audrey’s pov

Xander shot him a look, his voice laced with sarcasm as he said, “Oh, Zach, why don’t you shut it? I’m sure your commentary is just what we needed right now.”

Zach rolled his eyes but didn’t say anything more, though his smirk didn’t waver. Stephanie tried to jump back in, her voice calm and steady as if she were the voice of reason. “Everyone, let’s just settle down. We’re here to enjoy a meal together. Audrey, you need to learn to work with Amelia, and Amelia, maybe be more open with Audrey about decisions.”

The tension continued to build, every word only adding to the mess. Xander muttered something under his breath that I didn’t quite catch, and Amelia looked like she was ready to throw another accusation my way. The voices were overlapping, everyone talking over each other, and the chaos spiraled as everyone seemed to get louder, each one of us escalating without even realizing it.

Suddenly, my father banged his hand on the table, the sound echoing through the room a

Audrey’s pov“You’re right about one thing,” I shot back. “My father is too soft. He trusted the wrong person. But I won’t make that mistake.”Stephanie tilted her head, watching me with a kind of chilling satisfaction, as if my anger only confirmed everything she already knew. “Then I guess we’ll see who’s more committed, won’t we?” She crossed her arms, a steely glint in her eyes. “Because I’m not going anywhere, Audrey. Not for you, not for anyone. This is my life, and I will do whatever it takes to keep it.”I glared at Stephanie, the anger simmering beneath my calm facade. I was done with her games, her schemes, and her smug, unbothered attitude. Taking a deep breath, I crossed my arms and faced her head-on. “I know what you tried to do to Xander.”Stephanie arched an eyebrow, her lips curving up in a mocking smile as if this was all one big joke to her. “Oh really?” she asked, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “And what exactly do you think I tried to do?”I scoffed, refusing to

Amelia’s povHe was dominant and in control, and I loved every minute of it."Do you like it when I take charge?" he asked, as he roughly grabbed my hair."Yes," I moaned, feeling my pussy get wetter with each passing second. He bent me over the bed and entered me from behind, pounding me hard and fast. I could feel his balls slapping against my ass as he fucked me."Oh, fuck," I moaned, as he reached around and started playing with my clit. This man had a way of making things in bed more fun than it would actually be.I could feel myself getting close to orgasm, but he pulled out before I could cum. We went a few rounds before we both came at the same time.“Well that was… amazing,” I said with a laugh as he nodded. We stayed in silence for a while, our breaths hitching up and down before he turned to me.“So, Amelia,” he murmured, brushing a strand of hair from my face. “What’s the next plan? What’s our next move?”I smiled, letting a thrill course through me as I considered how cl

Stephanie’s povI raised an eyebrow, folding my arms. This whole idea of going to be friends with Xander was something I had not seen coming but I took in deep breaths.“I hope you’re getting me,” the doctor said as I sighed.“When you say make him my friend, what do you mean?”I found this funny but I just wanted to hear what he would say.“How about you just be his friend and not be in the red zone with Xander. That way, you can actually get what you want from him. Just make him think you’re not the enemy. That is sure to work if violence isn’t working.”“Make him think I’m not his enemy? He’d never buy it.”“People like him always have weaknesses, Stephanie. You just have to be clever enough to find them. Let him think you’re finished with your schemes and that you’ve turned your focus elsewhere. Give him something he wants. Trust.”“Trust…” I repeated, letting the idea settle in. Xander and I hadn’t had anything close to trust. But I knew he wanted to protect Audrey. And if I coul

Stephanie’s povBut I had to think carefully; my husband’s health was failing and before he would die I wanted him to see I had tried to make peace, and this wasn’t just about me. I had to protect my position in the family, even if it meant swallowing my pride.I forced myself to take a deep breath. “Fine, Xander. If that’s what it takes, then I’ll do it.”He raised an eyebrow, almost looking surprised. “You mean it?”“Yes,” I snapped, trying to rein in my temper. “But don’t think for a second that I’m doing this for her. I’m doing this because I want peace with you. That’s all.”He smirked, clearly enjoying my discomfort. “Whatever helps you sleep at night, Stephanie. Just know that Audrey’s the key to this whole thing. If you can’t make peace with her, then this so-called alliance of ours will be nothing more than words.”I held my head high, refusing to let him see how much this was getting to me. “I’ll talk to her,” I said tersely, barely able to get the words out. “But don’t expe

Audrey’s povAs I entered the dimly lit study with Eric, my client, I could already sense the tension in his stance. He was slouched in his chair, looking wearier than I’d ever seen him, frustration etched into every line on his face. I waited a moment, expecting him to get right to the point as he usually did, and sure enough, his voice filled the silence, low and strained.“Crawford,” he began, a hint of irritation lacing his words. “I just can’t understand why Audrey is being so stubborn. All I ask is that she cooperate a little with Amelia… and Stephanie. Is that really too much?”I looked at him carefully, choosing my words with caution. “Eric, maybe… maybe you need to hear Audrey out. She might have a point, or at least her own reasons for resisting this whole arrangement.”He turned to me, eyebrows raised, his expression a mix of surprise and disapproval. “Not you too, Crawford. I thought you were on my side.”I chuckled softly, leaning back a little in my chair. “Oh, I’m here

Stephanie’s povI was about to get into the house when Crawford got out and we locked eyes.“Hey, I need to tell you…” But before I could finish, he waved me off. “I need to draft something. We can talk later.”I stood near the doorway, watching him walk briskly toward his car. I couldn’t shake the irritation bubbling inside me; he’d barely even glanced at me before brushing me off with some excuse about “needing to draft something.” As he opened the car door, I called out to him, but he waved me off dismissively, muttering something about being “on a schedule.” Without so much as a backward glance, he climbed in and drove off, leaving me standing there, teeth gritted. My hands clenched into fists. Crawford was supposed to be pliable, cooperative even—yet he’d been nothing but an obstacle since the moment I tried to pull him onto my side. If only he would just see that I wasn’t trying to take anything that wasn’t already mine. Eric’s fortune and this entire estate would’ve crumbled

Stephanie’s povThat night, I stood in my room and wondered if meeting that woman myself would be a better idea. With a sigh, I decided to do that.I called my spy and asked if meeting her would be a better idea as he thought about it before laughing.“She might want to put him behind her and you want to remind her of the pain that had been caused by Crawford.”I rolled my eyes. “Oh come on. How bad could it be?”“Pretty bad if she never wants to see him again.”I thought about it for a while before shrugging.“Whatever,” I said. “Let’s get this over with. I’ve got other things to be doing anyway. Let’s do this and move on.”He sighed before sending me her number and address with her name.“Alisha,” I said with a smile. “Great.”The next day, I prepared myself and hurried out of the house to go to her apartment and within moments, I was parked out on the street. This place was scary but I held my breath before walking in.Soon, I stood outside the worn-down apartment building, glancin

Stephanie's povI chuckled. “Tempting, but I doubt that would accomplish much.”Alisha shrugged. “It’s the truth. He talks a big game, but when it comes down to it, he’s all bark, no bite. If you really wanted to intimidate him, you could probably just corner him somewhere. He’d fold like a cheap suit.”“Corner him?” I repeated, intrigued. “He’s always surrounded by security at work.”“That’s the thing,” she said, a sly smile creeping onto her face. “His office is locked down like Fort Knox, but his house? No one guards his house. Not many people even know where it is.”I raised an eyebrow. “And you do?”“Of course I do,” she replied, almost smugly. “I used to live there, back when he was still pretending I mattered. He’s probably redecorated by now, but it’s the same place.”“Interesting,” I murmured, already formulating a plan. “So, if someone were to… pay him a visit at home, he wouldn’t see it coming.”“Not at all,” she confirmed. “But be careful. Author’s povThe police quickly surrounded Daniel, cuffing him as he groaned on the floor. Blood trickled from his nose, and his face was twisted in anger and humiliation.“You’ll regret this, Xander!” Daniel spat, glaring up at his brother.Xander leaned down, his expression calm but firm. “Regret? That’s something you should feel for all the lives you’ve ruined. It’s over, Daniel.”As Daniel struggled against his restraints, the head of police stepped forward. He pulled out a list of charges and began reading them aloud.“Daniel Clarkson, you are being charged with the following: the kidnapping of Mrs. Wright, the attempted murder of Xander Clarkson, embezzlement from your family’s company, obstruction of justice, and numerous other crimes. You’ll be facing a long time in prison.”Daniel’s face contorted with rage. “None of it is true!” he shouted. “This is a setup! You’re all working against me!”“Your corrupt cop was also seen running off and right now he’s willing to testify agai

Author’s povMrs. Wright sat in the dark room, straining her ears for the movements of her captors. It had been a few hours since they taken her from her old place and brought her to this new place, hours marked by terror and solitude and confusion. But something inside had changed that night. Something told her she couldn’t be captive anymore. With newfound resolve, Mrs. Wright steeled herself and tiptoed to the door. The house was still; her captors didn’t suspect a thing when they had gone to bed earlier. Mrs. Wright cautiously unlocked the door, afraid of its creaking as she turned the knob to let herself out into the night air that was cool and freeing. She was done hiding. This time, she was going to save herself. The road stretched before her was infinite in the dark. She knew that with each step she took away from her prison it was another opportunity to get to her son and get out a solution. Her heart was beating both in fear and anticipation of the worst. She ran through t

  • Married To His CEO Brother   CHAPTER 136

Daniel’s povI stormed out of his office, hot blood rushed through my veins. How dare he? Who the hell does this man think he is? Some kind of a superhero coming to ‘save’ the company. He was going too far and asking too much. I got out of the company and headed for my car as I sat down there and leaned back in it. I was so angry I couldn’t hold myself back.My hands gripped tightly around my steering wheel; those knuckles were all white as if they were screaming ‘help!’ in some invisible way. In anger, I punched my steering wheel a couple of times before leaning back in my seat.I then turned the ignition and drove directly to the warehouse where I had everything under control—my men, my operations, and my future. It was a sanctuary of sorts for me, a place where I could reorganize my thoughts and plans without any distractions or disturbances. A couple of my men were already there when I arrived. They all stood up as soon as they saw me enter, feeling the unrest radiating off me. “

Audrey’s povI clearly remembered the drive to the cabin that morning. I’d driven so slowly, looking in the rearview mirror every few seconds to make sure I wasn’t being followed. The streets had been practically empty, but everything had felt still and foreboding because of it. When I had gotten to the place, I had parked a few hundred meters from the cabin itself, hiding my car behind some trees before continuing on foot. The closer I got to the cabin, the more uneasy I felt. Something was very wrong. The place looked abandoned—deserted—but it wasn’t just that. It was something else; something I couldn't explain.“Mrs wright?” I asked while staying at the door and knocking. I hoped no one would bash my head in as I opened it inwards as it groaned under my hand as I gave it a push so I could step inside. The sight that met my eyes made my stomach plummet. The entire cabin was in shambles. Furniture was flipped over, papers were strewn across the floor, and a faint acrid smell wafted

Xander’s povI sat in my office, the door closed behind me as I went through the financial reports once more. My anger simmered beneath the surface. It was bad enough that the company was in such a state, but the audacity of the board to act like nothing was wrong infuriated me. My father had worked too hard to build this company, and I wasn’t about to let it crumble under their watch—or Daniel’s.Just as I was contemplating my next move, there was a sharp knock on the door. Before I could answer, one of the board members stepped in, closing the door behind him. He was an older man, someone who had been with the company for decades, yet his face now looked pale and nervous.“Mr. Xander,” he started, his voice shaking, “I need to talk to you.”I reclined back in my chair, signaling for him to continue. “What is it?” I questioned, but I already knew he didn’t come here to help me with anything but to stress me.The man hesitated, and then he leaned forward a little. “I think you should

Xander’s povI was in my company office gazing at the files lying on my table. My secretary had compiled every possible document pertaining to the financial record of the company and I was growing more angry after going through it. How was it not tallying? Who drew this large amount of money, the supporting bills and receipts were in no record?I could see lots of money being removed from the company but there was no mention of them being used for the company again. Why was this a thing?I called for my assistance as she appeared before me.“Is this all?” I asked as she nodded.“Yes, Mr. Xander. I think this is all there is available in the system…”“You think?” I interrupted her as she gulped.“It is all I could find in the system.”I leaned back in my chair and drummed my fingers on my desk. “This doesn’t make any sense… Someone has been withdrawing money at absurd rates recently, and with no record of what it’s being used for? How the hell does that work?”She didn’t answer, but sh

Daniel’s povI smiled after hearing his voice. Xander, always so easy to rile up. “Calm down, baby brother,” I scoffed. Taking another sip of my drink as I got to my feet to face him. “I was merely conversing with her. No need to get your knickers in a twist.”He stepped closer, glowering. “I said, stay away from her.”I saluted him sarcastically and stepped back a pace or two. “Okay, okay. Chill out if it bothers you so much.”As I walked away, I glanced back at Xander over my shoulder. “You should really learn to relax,” I drawled, mocking him as much as possible. “It’s bad for your health, all this stress you carry around.”Walking through the doors out of the pool area with self-satisfaction rolling off me in waves, I didn’t care about Xander and his anger. Not when they were both going to be defeated very soon.Back in my room, I poured myself another drink and stared out the window. It was a clear blue night with stars in the sky, but I wasn’t looking at the sky or the stars or

Daniel’s povLola’s body went rigid and her face turned a shade of red that clashed horribly with her hair. “Audrey?” she screeched.“Yes,” I said, nodding. “Why would she do this to me?”I shrugged. “I don’t know. But she must have seen that maybe Xander was looking at you a certain way and she just wanted you out of the equation.”Lola laughed cynically, and shook her head. “Audrey is going to regret this.” She said, “She honestly believes that nobody is going to stop her? For real.”I said nothing, just letting her stew. If nothing else, getting angry at Audrey took her mind off what had happened. "Wow, you look like hell," I said, taking a step back from the chart."Gee, really? How would you have guessed?" she snapped and rolled her eyes at me.I smirked, leaning against the wall. “You’re lucky to be alive, you know.”Her glare seemed to darken at my words. “If your people were competent at making sure no harm came to you and I, this wouldn’t have happened in the first place!”

Audrey’s pov“No,” I said, just as firmly. “But we can’t do anything stupid either. Any wrong step in this thing and it could throw us all over the edge. We just found her, let’s be careful and tail her for a while while trying to know what’s going on.”He gave a long heavy sigh and rubbed his fingers across his forehead. His eyes looked miserable because he knew I was right."Let's think this through," I said softly, resting my hand on his arm. "We'll find a solution for her. But we have to do it right."Reluctantly, he nodded, but his shoulders drooped in defeat. "Okay," he whispered. "But we need to hurry. I don't think she can last much longer."I nodded with both relief and determination. ***Daniel’s povI was in the car already heading to the house when I got a call from my men. “Boss, we have a problem.”“What is it?” I growled while clutching the wheel.“Mrs. Wright brought a stranger into the house she is hiding in, and now that we’ve arrived, the person is gone.”I frowne
