CHAPTER NINE: ROMAN'S APPEARANCE

SAVANNAH'S POV

We managed to make it to the hospital right on time. As we rushed in, the sterile white walls of the hospital corridor echoed with hushed whispers and angst. We both hurriedly approached the front desk.

"Where’s my daughter?!” I apprehensively requested wishing anyone would give me attention before a nurse directed us to the waiting room. “You’ll have to wait there’s a line ma’am.” She said.

I soon grew impatient and needed to see the doctor as I was losing my mind. While we stood, the scent of antiseptic hung in the air, adding to the tension that oppressed me.

Minutes looked like hours while we curiously waited for news about our daughter's current state. My face appeared pale and weak and I saw the fear in his eyes mirroring mine.

Finally, after what felt like eternity, the door creaked open, and a middle-aged doctor with a stern expression emerged, his white coat slightly disheveled, he wasn't my daughter's usual doctor.

"Good evening doctor"
