"Daddy doesn't like Fanny because she is the daughter of the woman Daddy once loved?"

"No, it's not because of that. When Fanny was born, Daddy wasn't hurt or angry. Daddy was just indifferent because his love for her mother had already faded, and Daddy had begun to fall in love with your mother."

"Oh, I thought it was because of that. If not because of that, then why?" Marvin asked.

"Because Fanny has the same traits as her father. Too ambitious, selfish, stubborn, impossible to advise, and so on. And most importantly, she is rude. Daddy doesn't like that."

"Oh, I thought it was for some other reason, but it turns out it's because of that? I don't know her well, so I don’t know her traits and behavior. But from the start, I’ve disliked her. If it weren’t for Mommy, I wouldn’t have agreed to the engagement. Fanny's face looks like that of an antagonist. I dislike seeing it."

Stella nudged Marvin's arm. "You shouldn't think like that. What if you end up falling in love with her? What a
