125. Like Them

Marvin opened the car door where Stella was seated. He intended to help her out, but Stella had already extended her hand to him.

“Carry me. If I walk, it’ll take forever because my stomach still hurts, and my back aches a little. I want to get home as soon as possible so I can see my daughter, so just carry me.”

Marvin smiled, and without responding, he lifted Stella into his arms.

“Oh my God.”

“What’s wrong?”

“The baby’s already out, but why are you still so heavy?” Marvin asked, carrying Stella toward the elevator.

Stella’s lips immediately pouted at her husband’s remark. “Are you calling me fat? Are you trying to say I’m getting uglier? That you’re going to find someone else? Ugh! I’m like this because I gave birth to your child. I’m like this because of you. Weren’t you the one who insisted I have your baby? Huh? I even risked my life for you, and now what do you say? You’re calling me fat? Even with this weight, I’m still a catch for other men!”
