111. Trap

Marvin's eyes shot open when he heard Stella telling him not to look for her. His already growing worry intensified as he heard the sound of a slap. He was sure his wife was in trouble. His heart pounded, fearing the person holding Stella might hurt her.

“Darling?” Marvin called out.

“What did she say?” Marvin mumbled as he heard Stella's trembling voice talking to someone he believed was in front of her. He also clearly heard Stella sounding like she was holding back tears.

Marvin covered his mouth as he heard the slap, convinced that the man was hurting his wife.

“Darling? Darling? Are you okay? What’s happening? What is that bastard doing to you?” Marvin asked, panicked.
