ACEIA'S POV

I was silently sitting on the dining table eating lunch when Marthina sat down in the chair in front of me. Hudson's grandmother was in the living room, reading a magazine. I had my lunch late because I woke up past lunch.

"Hudson is mine," Marthina said with anger and jealousy in her voice. "He will never be yours."

I knew it. This woman still hopes that she and Hudson will get back together. Well, sorry, darling, I won't let you.

You may be dying, but that won't make me give Hudson to you.

I looked at her and spoke boredly. "I'll just remind you that Hudson and I are married. So if you intend to get him, then good luck to you."

Marthina smirked. "It was an arranged marriage. It only shows that Hudson doesn't really love you, and he only married you because he needed something from you. I came here because of Hudson, and I will have him soon."

Pain sipped through my heart, but I did not show it. I didn't want this woman to see me hurt by what she said. I would not give Ma

The convention was held on a beach in Isla Plaza, and each of the attendees had a cabin that served as a sleeping place.Beatrice was nowhere to be found; maybe she was having fun with someone, so I didn't waste my time trying to find her.As I walked back to my cabin, my fingers tapped quickly as I sent it to Beatrice, letting her know that I was just in my cabin. After that, I immediately entered my cabin and dressed in short shorts and a halter shirt, then simple black slippers.I was still busy putting on makeup when someone knocked on the door."Wait a minute!" I shouted from inside the cabin.Maybe it's one of the island staff who will clean the cabin. I left my makeup on the bed and opened the door.My body went rigid when I saw who was outside the door. It's not one of the staff on the island. It was Hudson, and he looked irritated."You left without telling me?" Hudson

"Yes. I really wanted to have a baby with you. I realized that when the first time Phoenix called me mommy," my chest tightened. "We've had it three times, but I still can't feel that I'm pregnant." I turned to Hudson, who was looking at me. "Are you sure you're not infertile?"The man's eyebrows met. "Me? Are you saying that I'm barren? Aceia, I'm a healthy male. I'm not barren!" He sounded horrified."Don't yell at me!" I rolled my eyes at him. "It's annoying. Why haven't I gotten pregnant yet?"I was startled when Hudson put his hand inside my clothes and rubbed my belly. "Take a pregnancy test to be sure. Because I'm sure I'm not sick."I frowned. "I was fertile when something happened to us." My snout grew longer. "Hudson, well, are you sure you're not infertile?""I'm sure." He suddenly was on top of me and planted a kiss on my lips. "I'm not barren, Aceia. Why are you even asking me that kind of question? Well, you, aren't you barren?"She glared at him. "I'm not barren. Asshol

ACEIA'S POVIt had been a full week since the intenseencounter with Marthina. I didn't talk to my father after that. I purposefully chose to keep this distance because I needed time to gather my thoughts and reflect before bringing up the hard topic. Even though I really should be talking to my dad and making sure Marthina and Alexander are telling the truth, I take comfort in these quiet times, letting my ideas settle before facing the storm that is coming. This self-imposed break from face-to-face interaction is making my internal turmoil even more confusing. My logical mind begs me to speak with my father immediately in order to get clarification and closure. It is full of longing for pure clarity, wanting to remove any doubt from Marthina's charges and Alexander's remarks. However, the soft murmurs of my heart beg me to take my time, to temper the urgency with a measured resolution, so that feelings don't overshadow any revelations that may come to light. There is a constant feeli

ACEIA'S POVMy mind was jumbled with doubts as I looked at the man in front of us. His manner was sincere, yet there was a persistent suspicion that persisted in the back of my mind. Was he trustworthy? Are we to believe all he said? My eyes studied his facial expressions, searching for any hints while she considered these questions.I questioned whether there was a process for figuring out what defines authenticity or a guide that explained how to deal with the complexities of trust. As the silence lingered between them, I thought about the importance of every word that was said. Was there a clue in his eyes—a slight change in the way he held himself—that would expose the truth? As I kept talking to myself, I fought with the problem of making choices based solely on beliefs. What actions should I take to make sure I'm not misled if I decide to trust? I felt the weight of the situation pressing down on me, forcing me to choose between being sincere and lying. I realized that the way fo
