"Shall we leave?" Levi asks me, "I think we've been here long enough, don't you?"

I nod, finishing my drink and feeling just slightly dizzy. I'm far from drunk, but after a few glasses of wine and champagne I start to feel my skin warm and my inhibitions distant.

Smiling, I let Levi escort me out. Except for the incident we had at the beginning of the evening with Sebastian, the rest of the night has been peaceful; a few rumors and curious glances, but nothing I haven't gotten used to by now.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow's local news headline talked about what happened. But I also realize, to my surprise, that I don't care. Levi has shown himself to be able to take care of me, and it's something I'm grateful for.

He has demonstrated a new side of his personality. Unfortunately, so has Sebastian, I think. The way he has tried to publicly humiliate me shows that he really doesn't care about me. In fact, perhaps he never really did.

As I get into the car Levi's gaze lingers on my face for a moment. He seems to notice that I am absorbed in my own thoughts, but says nothing. He starts the late model red convertible and as the night begins to pass around us with speed, he places his hand on my thigh. The fabric of the dress slips and leaves an outrageous amount of skin exposed. Levi doesn't seem bothered by the idea of touching me, and for a moment I decide that I'm not bothered by this either.

The touch of his hand is subtle. He strokes my skin calmly, as if he's grown comfortable doing it. I focus on his touch and the curious impression his closeness makes on me. Of comfort and longing.

It is strange. Inside me, my wolf seems to react positively to his touch. Curiously, with Sebastian, it never happened. Sebastian never prompted a response from her at all. But with Levi, everything is different. She longs to be with him. I have to make an effort to calm her down when Levi is around.

Levi drives in silence until we finally arrive at the imposing mansion on the hill.

Before I get out of the car I stare at him. Levi notices and his eyes get lost in mine.

"Thank you for tonight," I say in a whisper. "I needed to clear my head a little after everything that had happened."

His hand gently squeezes my thigh. He nods softly.

"It's my pleasure," he answers simply, "I'm glad you had a good time."

Then he gets out of the car and comes to open the door for me. He takes my hand to help me out of the car and doesn't let go, but leads me to the mansion

.

As I enter, I notice the soft piano music that fills the room, as if to set the mood. The fire in the living room is lit and the lights are off. In the distance I see the reflection of the moon on the lake.

My breath catches for a moment, regarding the beauty of the scene before me. Levi places his hands on my shoulders and begins to massage them gently.

"Do you like it?" he murmurs very close to my neck, and sending shivers down my spine.

"It's beautiful," I reply. The view is breathtaking.

He takes my hand, kisses it gallantly and leads me up the stairs to the main room.

The doors open and I take off my shoes. I sigh, feeling the tension from the stress at the back of my neck.

The fireplace is lit. The lights are low and music floats through the room.

Guided by a strange feeling, I make my way to the balcony. I open the large windows and walk to the railing so that I can rest my hands on it. The night is brisk, and I feel my skin bristle, but there is something about this place, I think, something magnetic and utterly enchanting that draws me in like a moth to the flame.

"Enjoying the view?" Levi asks behind me.

He sets a glass down next to me and stands at my back. His body heat flows through the space between us, warming the bare skin of my back.

He begins to massage my shoulders and a hoarse moan of pleasure arises from my lips, unbidden.

I take the cup, close my eyes and take a sip.

I could get used to this.

"This place is really beautiful," I admit, "I had no idea that it was so lovely. Thank you for bringing me here.'

He moves a little closer to me. I feel his breath against the back of my neck, slowly breathing in my perfume. I bite my lower lip. The bridge of his nose brushes my skin, awakening all of my senses.

Part of me thinks about asking him to step away. It's too soon, I tell myself.

But inside me, my wolf is begging me to let him come closer. There's something about Levi that calls to her. A kind of instinct. And she will be denied no longer.

Levi seems to sense it. He moves a little closer, until his body is pressed against my back. With one hand he tilts my face and then, very slowly begins to kiss my neck, working his way down my skin, until his teeth reach my earlobe.

A soft, slow moan then leaves my lips. He places his hands against my hips and holds me gently and precisely.

"We can't do this," I declare in self preservation, "This is a bad idea."

But that's a lie, and I know it. Everything within me calls to him. I don't know the reason, but I know that the most instinctive part of me wants him. Needs him.

"Why exactly can't we?" he asks, "It certainly feels like a good idea to me.."

I feel his tongue. He glides slowly down my neck, leaving a wet trail in his wake.

His hands slide down my back. They reach for the zipper of my dress and very slowly begin to slide it down.

I hold my breath.

"I don't know," I whisper sincerely, "I think I'm afraid."

"Of what," he asks me softly, "What about me scares you?"

"Of losing control," I tell him, hesitantly, "I don't normally lose control."

Levi smiles against my neck. His mouth kisses my shoulders. His hands start to pull down my suspenders.

"For once," he tells me. "Stop fighting your instincts and just go by them."

My instincts, I try to concentrate on my instincts. Not on what reason is telling me, but on what my wolf is trying to say.

A heartbeat runs through me when he unzips my zipper. And I know I want this. It may be because of the night's entanglements, or maybe it has to do with something beyond reason. I don't know, but the truth is I want it... I want him....

Levi pulls down the dress, which is caught in my cleavage. He slips it off with his fingers, and it falls to the floor. My skin is exposed to the cold of the night. It bristles and struggles between the cold and the heat emanating from it.

I am wearing nothing but lace panties. Behind my back I feel Levi take off his jacket. His mouth starts down my neck, and then his tongue runs down my spine, causing me to shiver. I lift my face and hold back a moan as I bite my lip. He crouches behind my back.

He pulls my panties off with his teeth. Two of his fingers hook into the ends and start them down my hips. By now I have to hold onto the railing to keep from losing my balance. Levi bites my ass and a moan finally escapes my lips at the feel of him.

He slowly rises to his feet. His pelvis sticks to mine. I feel the erection through his clothes and my lips curl from the emotions it triggers inside me. My need.

Levi places his hands at my hips. He makes me turn around, confronting him. I stand, totally aroused and naked in front of this man. The leader of the enemy pack I've ended up betrothed to.

My husband.

He stares into my eyes. His hand goes under my chin. He lifts it up and presses his body against mine. My hands rest on his firm, toned muscles. I feel the tension in them even when they are relaxed.

He tilts his face, moves closer to me... his mouth meets mine. His tongue traces my lower lip slowly, and then possesses me.

And I know I can no longer resist. I'm not aware of anything else, but only of him. Tomorrow I can blame it on the alcohol, I can even pretend I don't remember any of this, but now, I want him to make me forget Sebastian, to make me forget the whispers, the gossip. I want to forget everything and just be his.

My hands then start to run down the buttons of his shirt. But Levi stops me. He lifts me up and carries me into the room, dropping me on the bed while he takes off his shirt himself.

I look down at him, roaming his figure, the part of his skin that is bare. He brings his thumb to his lower lip and runs it across it. He looks me shamelessly up and down.

"I'm going to enjoy this," he whispers, "I promise you. And I always keep my promises."

His body rests on top of mine. I close my eyes and dig my nails into his back, feeling his tongue run down my neck to my breasts; his hands begin to unbutton his pants and he yanks them off, as if they were nothing.

His sex brushes mine. His hands come after me. He holds both of my hands with just one of his and pulls them up over our faces as his tongue begins to play with my nipples, I lose myself in that one delicious sensation.

Inside me I want to scream, to moan his name. My head has lost the battle and stops asking for him to stop. I am out of control. I belong to him. My heart picks up the pace and with each beat I feel my wolf howling, begging him not to pull away.

He spreads my legs, one of his fingers exploring me, feeling the wetness in my sex. He slips inside me once, twice, three times, making me moan in pleasure, and then he takes my thigh, lifts it up and away as his sex settles between my legs.

His lips cover mine, silencing my moans as the tip of his sex finds its entrance into me. I moan in pleasure, bite his lower lip and then pull away from his mouth as he penetrates me.

Only then, a burst of pleasure runs through me, unlike any I've ever known before. Levi grunts against my skin, buries his face in my neck and lets me bite his shoulder.

He releases my hands and clutches one hand around my waist, while the other digs his nails into my buttocks. And I let my fingers run down his back, wanting him closer, deeper inside me. Wanting more, much more of him.

"Levi..."I say again and again, between gasps.

I want to ask him not to stop. I want to ask him to keep going, keep going inside me... deeper, faster…

He seems to know exactly what I want, what I need. At the last instant he spins us around on the bed. He takes me by the hips and sits down, with me on top of him. He then rams me harder, taking one of my breasts with his mouth and biting the nipples as he penetrates me deeper.

And I lift my face, moaning his name tirelessly, feeling everything inside me shatters from the burst of pleasure coursing through me.

One last thrust. My nails dig into his shoulders... And with a hoarse moan from him, and a vibrating one from me, we find ourselves in the throes of orgasm.

Only then do my lips slowly open, and I begin to breathe, raggedly, feeling the layer of sweat covering my skin.

I look at Levi then, kiss his lips slowly and he smiles dangerously.

"Don't flatter yourself," he says against my mouth, like a prelude. "Because we're not done, but only just started."

An annoying sound pulls me out of my reverie. It buzzes and buzzes around me, like a bee. It makes me grunt and open my eyes until I finally see it's my phone."Shit," I say, seeing who it is. Levi is next to me. He is sound asleep. Carefully I get out of bed and grab my robe, hastily put it on and go out to the balcony so I can talk. At my feet lay the clothes from the night before, reminding me exactly what I've been doing for the past few hours and the reason Levi is as exhausted as I feel."Hello?" I answer in a whisper."I can't believe you did this to me," Rose says on the other end of the line. Her voice is broken. She's obviously been crying. Rose has always been like that, a very sensitive and sweet girl that I've always taken care of, because she has the ability to emulate that kind of aura, as if she needs protection.I have always taken care of her, and for the same reason, we are very close. At the sound of her voice my heart breaks and I can't help but worry

If you'll come with me, I'll try to make amends for that mistake," Levi points down the hallway leading to the kitchen. Matt and I follow him.The kitchen is spacious and exquisitely decorated. It has a center table island made of black marble. Matt and I sit down while Levi turns around and goes to the refrigerator, pulling out things to make breakfast."I don't trust this guy," Matt says in a whisper, standing very close to me."'This guy' is my husband," I scold him and punch him in the arm. "And you've been very rude to him.""I've been honest!" Matt complains. "He's been a jerk to come out of nowhere and take you away. He had no right."My brother is not one to easily

Sophie and I find ourselves sitting on the terrace of our favorite restaurant, having lunch. In the privacy of our table I have been able to confess to my best friend, who is the only person who really understands and knows me, and I have told her everything that has happened with Levi and Sebastian since the wedding day.Oddly enough, Sophie hasn't judged me, and has let me speak my mind, which is perhaps one of the things I appreciate most about her, as she can really understand me without criticizing me for the good or bad decisions I'm making."It seems to me that you need some time away from everything to clear your head," she says after hearing my story.I sigh."I need it, don't I?" Chapter 100: Ranger **Levi’s POV Hope and I look at each other in shock. I was definitely not expecting that. “If you let me out, then I will kill him,” he says, eerily blankly, “If I escape, I will kill him. I can’t help it. So you will need to kill me to ensure his safety.” “I don’t, I mean, I can’t do that,” Hope tells this strange creature in revulsion at the idea, “I will turn you over to the authorities. That is the only thing I can do. The only thing I will do.” “Very well,” it says, “They will probably kill me then. It is for the best.” Then the man begins his terrible shift back to the beast it was when he was captured. In a matter of moments, the man inside him is gone forever. I shiver at the thought of it. And at the howls that start up again the moment the shift is complete. “Dan is safe,” Hope tells me, her voice unsteady, “It worked. Thank the Goddess.” “You did excellent work,” I tell her, “You were the only one who could

But just to be extra careful, the doctor and I want you to follow up with the medicine that you would have been prescribed if you hadn’t been healed. Antibiotics and doses of anti-venom. Every twelve hours for the next week.” I’m still shocked by this turn of events, but Dan seems to be handling all of this incredibly well. Ah, to be young again. “No problem,” he says with a smile, “I’ve got my life back! I’ll take whatever you think is best.” “And even though I know you feel great,” Hope continues with a smile, “Just do me a favor and humor me on this. Get some rest for the next week. You don’t actually have to remain in bed, that would be silly given how well you’ve already healed. You can still see friends, and I know that you’re going to meet with the school lat

But Dan has been hurt, and if August has brought him to Hope’s place, he must be grievously injured. There is no time to waste. “My love,” I tell him softly, ‘I’m so sorry, but you need to wake up.” My husband stirs, and he looks so perfect lying there in bed that I want to make love all over again. But we need to go. “What is it, my love,” he asks, raising an eyebrow, “Are you ready to try the handcuffs on you this time?” “I am,” I tell him, “But unfortunately, that’s not why I woke you up. It’s terrible, and I absolutely hate it. But with my current financial situation, it’s the best that I can afford. Believe me, I’ve looked around.” I am horrified at the thought of a sixteen year old boy staying at that place. It is not a good place for anyone to stay. But anyone under eighteen staying there turns my stomach. Especially Dan, who is innocent despite what he has been forced to live through. Unacceptable. “Then tonight you’re staying with us,” I tell him firmly, “August, you take him out there to that terrible place to get his stuff, and bring him back as fast as you can.” “Are you sure,” Dan asks me, tentatively, “I mean, it’s so kind of

How my grandmother preyed on that fear within me. Now as I try to envision what it would have been like if everyone I knew and loved was gone, I can’t help shivering. “With all due respect sir, I didn’t know you,” he tells me, and I can see the tears in his eyes that he wipes away quickly, “I didn’t know what to do. I was out of money, and out of options. My entire family, everyone I ever knew, was dead. So I’ll play the rogue shifter trying to get his payday if it means that Amber and the twins remain safe. Although I’m going to need to shower after this. Probably several times. Sebastian sickens me. I knew we would get him eventually, but I had never even hoped that it would be this fast. It’s four o’clock in the morning, but only twenty four hours after I asked for help in his capture. Not bad at all. “He was wandering the streets,” he tells me, “My team found him in the park, muttering to himself. It was bizarre, actually. I thought he would be more stealthy than that.” “Yeah, so did I,” I tell him, thinking, “Where do you have him?” “We brought him directly to the place you said,” he responds, “That really was the best move.” The place he refers to is a facility I had my men create specifically to hold Sebastian. It is modeled on the facility he will ultimately reside
