CELINE HERRERA POV

I thought he was going to choke me out, what with the rage I saw firing up in his dark green eyes that were almost black as the darkness that surrounded us, instead he had just smirked, turned from me, and walked away like he couldn't be bothered with me.

I should have been happy that he'd listened to me but his dismissal was infuriating and all I wanted to do was to find an opportunity to smack him in the face just once, just once, but I was certain that would be asking for death.

Groaning, I walked back into the house and slammed the door so hard, that I could hear the walls rattle, but it was all just in my head.

Grabbing the documents, I walked up to my room, dropped them on the bed, and stepped into the bathroom to take a shower.

The water cascading over my skin was soothing and I just wanted to stay under the spray forever, but I couldn't since I had to read the contract he's brought for me to sign.
