Kelvin was sitting in a luxurious office chair, at a meeting that was in progress. The screen in front of him showed the presentation of his employees about the marketing products they would be shipping in the next few months. The sunglasses never left his face even though he was in a conference room.
The meeting has been going on for three hours and there was no sign of Kelvin to end the session. Everyone in the room felt very tired, but not a single person dared to complain in front of him.
Everyone in the room was aware that their boss was in a bad mood. They all knew Kelvin as a boss who was very cruel and strict. Kelvin demanded the best performance from his employees and also rewards them accordingly. But he also did not hesitate discard his employees if they made mistakes or failed to meet up to his demands.
Even though Kelvin was currently unable to see, as they all thought. None of them dared to underestimate him. With or without his eyes, Kelvin was the same as before.
Kelvin's hand tapped the table in front of him, a sign that he was not satisfied with the work shown by his subordinates. Drops of sweat started rolling down everyone's forehead, despite the fact that the room was cold.
Harris was standing behind Kelvin, along with several other bodyguards. He felt the cellphone in his pocket vibrate, indicating that he has a message. He read the message at a glance. Then, he immediately bent over closer to Kelvin's ear and whispered something to him.
Hearing what Harris said, Kelvin immediately stopped the ongoing meeting.
"The meeting is adjourned." He said coldly, before exiting the room.
After Kelvin and Harris left the room, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Some of them leaned on their chairs, looking exhausted and scared too.
They were saved!
Meanwhile, in Kelvin's office; Harris read the message he just received to Kelvin. The messaged contained information about Luliyah.
Kelvin's office was located on the 25th floor, the top floor of the Williams Group Building, dominated by black, white and gray. A large black workbench against a tall window that overlooked the road.
The window was always left opened without a curtain, making the room bright with sunlight. Unfortunately, after Kelvin's accident the window was permanently closed. The gray curtains never opened, not even a hint of sunlight could peek into the office. The monochrome colored room looked even more gloomy without any lighting from the sun.
Luliyah Parker.... 20 years of Age.
The only daughter of Martins Parker and Diana Lovey. Martins Parker was the CEO of Park Group, while Diana worked as a perfume maker.
They both divorced when Luliyah was ten years old. After that, Martins married for the second time to a woman named Mona Koffi, who already had a daughter; Natali.
After the divorce of her father and mother, Luliyah lived with her mother in a small and simple house. However, three years ago, her mother had a heart problem which caused her to fall into coma.
As expected by Kelvin, last night's incident had something to do with Natali Parker.
Last night, Luliyah met with Natali with the hope that she would be willing to lend her money so she could pay for her mother's hospital bills. Unfortunately, Natali didn't intend to help her. Instead, she used Luliyah to free herself from the arranged engagement with Kelvin.
Natali was quite smart. All the CCTV footage in the hotel corridor was deleted by her. She already shared money to all the people she ordered to keep their mouths shut, so she thought her plan was neatly done.
But the woman didn't realize who she was facing. Nothing was impossible for Kelvin Williams.
Kelvin could offer more money than Natali offered. If money didn't work, Kelvin still had a thousand and one ways to get the witnesses to speak up.
One of the servants who brought Luliyah to his room admitted that it was Natali who was the mastermind behind everything. Natali deliberately drugged Luliyah's drink. Later, Natali ordered the two servants to take Luliyah into his room.
Kelvin listened to the report with a blank gaze, making Harris unable to guess what his boss was really thinking.
To be honest, Harris was surprised by his boss's current attitude. While working for Kelvin, he never saw his boss behave like this. Kelvin has never shown any attraction to a woman.
So far, his life has always been occupied with work, work, work. Even after the accident, when his eyes became blind, Kelvin still immersed himself with work, 'as if he was trying to escape from the world.'
This was the first time Kelvin asked him to seek information a woman. What exactly made his boss so attracted to this woman?
"Tell Agi to bring Luliyah to this place. I want to meet her." Kelvin said as he waved his hand, telling Harris to leave him alone. Harris immediately left the office to carry out Kelvin's order.
Kelvin rubbed his face with his hands, hoping it could erase his bad mood.
Kelvin's memories returned to the hotel room he left in the morning, The room where he spent his most beautiful night and also the room where his joy wore off.
Luliyah ... That woman ...
The woman didn't recognize him ....
On the other hand, Kelvin could not wipe away Luliyah's face that was stuck in his mind.
Her long black hair that was hung down beautifully. Her dark eyes were black, drowning her in his sight. Her white face blushed so easily. The dimple on her right cheek that popped up when she smiled. Her tiny lips were reddish like a cherry.
Kelvin could not forget the image from his brain. Especially when Luliyah's long hair spread over his bed, her lips parted slightly as she fell asleep.
But why did Luliyah not recognize him?
Kelvin still remembered very well, a look of sadness and disappointment appeared on Luliyah's face when she found out that the two of them had spent the night together. That expression seemed to destroy Kelvin's excitement, making his day really bad.
Kelvin also remembered the time when Luliyah looked at him in confusion, as if she didn't know the man she was with the whole night. As if that day was their first meeting.
A suspicious expression appeared on Luliyah's face when Kelvin said her name, while she couldn't even recognize the man in front of her.
What really happened to her? Is Luliyah just pretending not to recognize him?
Kelvin's hands brushed his hair carelessly, making his neat hair a little messy. But he didn't care at all.
Only one thing he thought of at the moment. It just couldn't leave his head.
"Why don't you recognize me, Luli?"
Luliyah opened her door in a very exhausted manner. Today has been a really long day for her and the day was not over yet.She woke up from sleep and found herself in a luxury room that she did not know.Plus, she was with a stranger all night.'I don't know what happened last night.'Her memory was to hazy to think back to the previous night. All she knew was that she lost her virginity she had carefully guarded for twenty years for her husband. This incident made her feel very hurt and disappointed. She just lost something very precious to her. The truth was made worse when she found out that the man was Natali's fiance, Kelvin Williams. She slept with Natali's fiance, her half sister fiance! This man was known as cruel and merciless. Everyone called him a cold-hearted psychopath monster. It didn't stop there. He had fallen and was hit by a ladder too.She knew that Natali's mother; Mona, had indeed hated her for a long time. Everything she did was wrong in Mona's eyes. This time,
Luliyah kept the black business card in her bag, trying not to think that Kelvin was looking for her. She didn't have time to think about that man.She immediately got ready and went to to the hospital to visit her mother. Her mother has been in coma for three years and has been staying in the hospital all through. During those three years, Luliyah struggled alone. Struggling to finish college and also to earn money for mother's hospital bills. Her mother used to be a perfumer, a famous perfume creator. Since childhood, Luliyah often heard about her mother's work. With her perfume, her mother made women feel much more confident.Luliyah's mother stories gradually became part of her dream, leading her to major in chemistry during her college days. She hoped that one day she can become a professional perfumer like her mother.Because of her job, her mother owned a small piece of land which she used for farming. Every weekend, her mother often invited her to plant various kinds of flower
Luliyah looked at the tall building in front of her. The building looked very modern and luxurious. She felt she didn't belong there.Williams Group. The large writing was emblazoned at the top of the building, indicating that the entire building belonged to the Williams Family.Everyone who walked in and out of the place looked very neat. The men who worked there wore long sleeved shirts and suits with polished loafers. The women wore formal dresses that looked expensive, with heels which made them look more graceful and charming.Luliyah saw her current appearance from the glass reflection of the building. She wore a regular shirt with jeans and sneakers. Her appearance really did not match the place she had come to this time. But she didn't care, all she thought about was her mother's hospital bill. She entered the lobby of the building and walked to the receptionist desk, greeted by a woman with thick makeup. The woman looked at Luliyah from head to toe and looked away.Luliyah tr
Only Luliyah and Kelvin were in the elevator. It was because they were using Kelvin's private elevator. The elevator cannot be used by anyone. Only a few people had access to the elevator, which is Harris, His office assistant and Agi.The atmosphere in the elevator was very awkward. Or rather, only Luliyah felt that way. Every now and then she would steal glances at Kelvin, hoping he would break the silence between them.Unfortunately, Kelvin didn't say anything. He looked straight ahead while waiting for the elevator to arrive on his floor. Behind his sunglasses, he could see Luliyah who was constantly moving because she was restless. His lips curved slightly, forming a faint smile when he saw the movements of the woman beside him.Today, Luliyah's black hair, which usually was loose, was tied into a single ponytail, making her look younger. Sometimes, her hands combed the loose strands of her hair, a sign that she was nervous. Her modest dress did not hide her graceful and delicate
The room remained silent again. There was only the two of them, accompanied by two cups of tea that had been neglected on the table.Kelvin leaned back on his sofa casually, staring at the terrified Luliyah in front of him. The woman was like a little rabbit shaking as if Kelvin was a tiger about to pounce on her. She sat up straight, as if afraid that if she did not let her guide down even a little she would be swallowed up.Luliyah brushed the messy hair on her cheek. Her hand accidentally touched the wound from Mona's slap. The wound stung so she grimaced in pain.Kelvin watched Luliyah's movements. He could see her grimace as she touched her cheek. Kelvin's body immediately stiffened when he thought that something had happened to Luliyah. He immediately got up from his seat, leaned forward and held her chin so that he could see her face clearly. His hand held her chin a little hard because he was too hasty, making her whine in pain. Vaguely, Kelvin could see the scars covered by L
"Marry me".Luliyah looked at Kelvin with her mouth agape. She was sure her ears were having trouble. Or maybe she was hallucinating? Looked like she was too exhausted today so her brain was not right. How could Kelvin propose to her like this? She scratched her head even though it didn't itch. She felt a little stupid, thinking that this handsome, rich and mysterious man just proposed to her.Kelvin watched Luliyah's move, waiting for her answer. It seems that Luliyah did not hear what he said, or maybe she could not believe what she heard. Kelvin decided to make it clear one more time."Marry me and I will help you," Kelvin said for the second time.Only then did Luliyah realize that she heard correctly at first. Kelvin did propose to her!"But ...but..." Luliyah stuttered. She din't think that something like this would happen so she didn't know what to react to. Her mouth opened, closed and opened again because she didn't know what to say. After confirming that Luliyah truly unders
'Do I have to marry this man?'Luliyah didn't know anything about Kelvin. She didn't know his background, his family, let alone the man himself. She didn't know what kind of person Kelvin was. What if he wasn't really a nice guy?"But we don't know each other. Why do you want to marry me?" Luliyah asked softly, not daring to express her opinion to Kelvin.Kelvin tried to hold back the resentment in his heart. He didn't like it when he heard that the woman in front of him doesn't remember him."You need my help and I also have other plans. Is this reason enough for you?" Kelvin calmly replied.'Plan? Luliyah asked back.Kelvin looked straight at Luliyah, but not a single word came out of his lips. His mouth was tightly closed as if he didn't want to tell Luliyah what he was thinking. Is it possible that Kelvin wanted to take revenge on Natali because his fiancee betrayed him? Is that why Kelvin wanted to use it as a weapon to make Natali feel the same way he did?Actually, Luliyah felt
As soon as their elevator reached the lobby, Kelvin and Luliyah immediately stepped out. Everyone in the lobby immediately stopped what they were doing and immediately greeted their boss.Luliyah felt awkward seeing everyone looking down at her. Even though those people didn't pay attention to her, she was walking down the lobby with Kelvin so she caught their attention. When she glanced at the reception corner to check the woman who had refused her arrival to meet with Kelvin. Luliyah didn't know that the receptionist just lost her job because she was not polite to her.As she stared at the reception desk, a man rushed over to Kelvin. The man's face was handsome with bogus glasses in his eyes, making him look smart. He looked very neat from head to toe, not a single strand of hair came out of the other. He was tall and nearly matched Kelvin's height. In contrast to Kelvin's white skin like a stranger, this man's skin was olive yellow, showing the thickness of his Indonesia blood. The
