The look on Sarah’s face was enough to tell me what I needed to know. Ava wasn’t lying— or paranoid like I had thought— when she came to my bedroom last night.

“Wh—what are you doing here?” Sarah’s surprised voice only added to my uneasiness.

“Exactly what I would love to know,” I ground out, my eyes darting between her and Zane.

“Not since I left him,” I snapped, annoyed at the whole setup. Turning to a very quiet Zane, “Your Alpha asked you a question. Am I being disregarded? What is going on here?”
