MARINA

The club was crowded with people my age and the music was loud. Eddie took my hand and pulled me inside.

"Want something to drink?" he shouted through the music so I could hear him talk.

"I can't! I'm not twenty-one yet," I said. God, I sound so lame. I wish I was twenty-one already.

Eddie grinned, then leaned down. "Neither am I, but I've got a fake ID," he whispered in my ears so only I could hear him.

I was surprised. Eddie didn't seem like the type, but I guess I was wrong.

"They won't know if I go get you one. Are you sure you don't want any?" Eddie smirked.

Maybe I shouldn't keep saying no, I thought. I didn't want to seem like a total loser.

"Okay, maybe just one," I said.

Eddie smiled. "I know just what to get you."

He walked away, leaving me alone with the crowd.

I stood there awkwardly as he disappeared. I looked around and observed the strange faces in the crowd. Most of the women wore super tight and sexy outfits compared to mine. I felt a little out of place.

I stopped in my tracks as I saw a familiar face. He was about six foot three with messy black hair and cool grey eyes.

What was Logan Hill doing here?

Logan had been my next-door neighbor ever since I was little. We practically grew up together and used to be best friends all throughout middle school. But for some reason, we grew apart after we started high school. He had joined the photography club and made some new friends. But, things were not the same between us anymore.

Logan was standing towards the back of the club. All alone. He had his camera hanging off his neck as always. I never saw him walking around without his camera. A lot of people thought he was weird, but I just thought he was obsessed with photography.

I contemplated going over to him and saying hi but stopped myself. I was on a date with a cute boy from class, so maybe I shouldn’t waste my time talking to the neighborhood kid.

I relaxed a bit as I saw Eddie coming back with cups in both hands. One of them must be for me.

“Hey, I didn’t leave you alone for too long, did I?” Eddie asked. He handed me one of the cups.

I shook my head and looked inside the cup. It had a pinkish-red liquid in it. It didn’t look as scary, so maybe I’d be okay. “What is this?” I asked.

“A mixed drink I came up with just for you. It’s sweet and girly,” he said and flashed me a lopsided grin.

I hesitated before taking a sip. My friend Sarah Mae always warned me about accepting drinks from strangers. Especially when the drink was in an open container, but Eddie didn’t qualify as a stranger, did he?

Eddie was staring at me expectantly, so I took a long sip. He was right. It didn’t taste terrible.

“How about we dance now?” he asked after I finished my drink.

I was nervous again. I wasn’t a very good dancer, and I didn’t feel like making a fool of myself tonight.

“I don’t know about that…” I said and giggled.

“Oh, come on, Marina. We are already here, so let’s have a good time,” he said.

I didn’t argue with him anymore. He was right, we were at the club so what else would we do other than dancing? I took his hand and let him lead me to the dance floor.

I have gone to a few school dances here and there but never invested my time learning how to dance. All I could do was go with the motion and move with the music. Maybe Eddie wouldn’t notice, and we’d end up having fun anyway.

We danced for a few minutes, and then the music suddenly slowed down. My heart started pounding as he pulled me closer.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and moved with me. I was starting to feel a little tipsy, so I leaned against him some more.

“You are so fucking beautiful, Marina. I’m so glad we are in the same class,” he whispered in my ears.

“Me too,” I said, but I doubt he heard me over the music.

I gasped as I felt his hand sliding inside my shirt and stroking the small of my back.

“Um…Eddie?” I spoke.

“Sorry, I can’t hear you over the music!” Eddie exclaimed. He was moving his hand up and down on my back. They felt warm and rough.

I shifted uncomfortably. I knew I should protest, but I was trying my hardest to make this work. Maybe I should go with the flow, I thought. I was in college now and we were both adults, so I didn’t want to seem like a prude.

Eddie suddenly leaned down and pressed his lips on mine.

I was startled at his sudden move at first, but then I closed my eyes and kissed him back.

Eddie broke the kiss first then pulled me away from the dance floor.

“Where are we going?” I cried.

Eddie didn’t answer and kept going. He took me inside a dark hall then pushed me against the wall.

This is going too fast. I thought as he started to kiss my neck.

“Wait…Eddie…” I gasped in protest, but his hands were all over me. He shoved his hands inside my shirt then cupped one of my breasts over my bra. That’s when I decided it was time to make him stop. This was only our first date.

“Eddie, stop!” I yelled and pushed him off.

Eddie was taken aback, but he recovered quickly. “What?”

“I think you are going too fast. I’m not sure I want to do this with you,” I said.

“What are you talking about? I think you are hot, so I asked you out on a date. So why are you being like this?” Eddie winced.

“Yes, I am okay with us hanging out, but you’re going too far,” I said. I just wanted to go home at this point.

I tried to move aside and walk away, but Eddie grabbed my shoulder. “Don’t be like this, Marina. Don’t be a goddamn tease,” he growled. His blue eyes were dark and full of lust.

He leaned forward to kiss me again, but this time, I had no desire to let him. I reacted quickly and kicked him on the shin, then ran off.

“Ugh! You bitch!”

I heard him yell behind me, but I kept running. I didn’t know how I would make it home since Eddie was my ride. Gosh, my mother is going to kill me when she finds out.

I couldn’t go too far as I bumped into something hard and nearly fell on the ground. Someone grabbed me then held me up. I looked up and found myself looking into a pair of piercing grey eyes that belonged to none other than Logan Hill.

“Marina? What are you doing here? Why are you running?” he asked. He looked at my distraught face. His eyes narrowed.

“Um…well…I’m on a date,” I stammered.

“Is that right?” he asked and stared at me intently. “So, where is your date?”

“The date didn’t go well, so I’m going home,” I said. I straightened my shirt. Maybe I should ask Logan for a ride. “Could you give me a ride home?” I asked.

Logan cleared his throat. “Did he do something to you? Who were you out with anyway?”

“You probably don’t know him. He is in my class at the university. His name is Eddie Wilson,” I said. I didn’t know why I was telling Logan all this. We hardly ever talk.

“I see…if he did something to you, I could go talk to him about it,” Logan offered.

What? Why would he do that? I wondered.

“No thanks. Can you take me home or not?” I asked, desperately needing him to say yes.

Logan nodded. “My truck is outside. Let’s go,” he said and I followed him to his truck.

I arrived home safe and sounded no thanks to Eddie. I couldn’t believe he treated me like I was some kind of a piece of meat! Thankfully, my mother was still asleep, so I didn’t have to hear her nagging right before bed.

The next day, I went to class as usual. I looked at the table next to me and sighed. It’s going to be awkward seeing Eddie after what happened last night, I thought. I wondered if he would apologize for his behavior.

Class started as scheduled, but Eddie never showed up. I was relieved since I was still angry at him.

Good riddance, I thought.

MARINAThree days passed by, but Eddie never showed up to class. I heard from a few of the other students that he hadn’t been attending his other classes either, which was strange, to say the least.“Have you heard?” one of my classmates, Annie, sat down next to me and asked. Her eyes were sparkling with excitement as if she was about to tell me a secret.“Heard what?” I asked.“Eddie Wilson went missing!” Annie declared.Missing? How would that happen? I wondered. I just saw him at the club three days ago.“That…that’s weird,” I managed to say.“I know, right? His parents filed a missing person report and the police had been going around asking people questions. Do you think he has been murdered?” Annie looked at me expectantly as if I would know the answer.“I don’t know anything about that,” I said.&ldquo

LOGANShoot…I didn’t mean for her to see me like this. I thought I could duck before she saw me pointing the camera at her, but she saw me before I could put it away. I was caught red-handed.Last night, I came home from college and tried to go to sleep but couldn’t. And then I saw movements in her bedroom, so I got curious.I’ve always been curious about Marina. We grew up together, but I always felt like I didn’t know her. Like, really know her. She had an aura of mystery as if she was always trying to hide something or herself. And it didn’t hurt that she was hauntingly beautiful. We were best friends growing up and did everything together. We played together but it was mostly at my house because her mother was always passed out in her room and didn’t like us to make too much noise. We had to tip-toe around her mom because she was always angry and abusive toward her.We stopped hanging

MARINAThe police were here and asking everyone questions again. I saw Det. Baker was looking at me and it made me nervous. But I shouldn’t feel nervous because I haven’t done anything wrong, right? But why were the police back here?“What happened? Did they find Eddie?” I asked one of the guys in my class. His name was Mike.“They found Eddie Wilson’s body at an abandoned shed in the woods,” Mike said.I gasped. Eddie is dead!“Are you serious? But how did you know that? Did the police make an announcement? I didn’t see anything on the news,” I said. Not that I watched the news regularly, but I felt like I still would’ve heard something if it was on TV.“Someone took a picture of his dead body and spread it all over social media. It was as if he was proudly showing off his handiwork to the world or something,” Mike said distractedly.

M.D. I stood by silently and watched the faces in the crowd. Look at them, pretending to be disturbed, pretending that they care about Eddie. Bunch of fakes and assholes. No one cared about Eddie. Not like I did anyway. Gosh, he was such a joke. He thought he could get handsy with a girl and get away with it. Dumbass. He wasn't so cocky when I took him to the little shed and pulled out the knife. I always carry the knife with me when I go out at night. Because you never know when you might need it. The world is a dangerous place! It wasn't easy for me to get him to the woods. I had to wait patiently until he was ready to leave the club. But before that, I managed to slip something in his drink while he was too busy gawking at some slut. He came out of the club all drunk and disoriented. I didn't waste any time and quickly met him at the parking lot before he left. He was surprised to see me at first, shocked ev

MARINAI knew it was Logan who told the police about my fight with Eddie. It had to be him because he was the only one who saw us. So I needed to confront him. What was he doing snitching on me? It was none of his business. Although I wasn't too surprised since I caught him spying on me and taking a picture of me when I wasn't looking.Luckily, I found him walking around taking pictures of random students on campus. Is that all he does with his time? I knew photography was his passion, but he didn't have to always walk around with that camera attached to his hips. He would get in trouble for that one day."Logan! Over here!" I called him over before he was out of my sight again. He smiled when he saw me. Although I had to admit, even though he was kind of a creep, he wasn't so rough on the eyes. When he smiled, dimples appeared on both his cheeks. His hair looked soft and tousled, but his best feature was his eyes. He was attractive, that's for sure.

MARINAI did something terrible. I put some sleeping pills in my mom's soup and fed it to her so she would fall asleep. Then I would be able to sneak out and go to the party. I only wanted her to sleep and not realize I was gone for the whole night. She kept her prescription pills next to her nightstand, but I managed to take one or two out each day and hide them in my room just in case I ever needed them. I've been doing that for months now, so I have at least twenty of those pills in my possession. I put them inside a Ziploc bag and hid them under my mattress.I crushed them up and mixed them into the soup. I put a lot of seasonings in her food so she would never taste the bitterness of the pills. She drank it all without missing a beat. She complained about me being useless all day long, but she always ate everything I cooked for her.It was going to be chilly outside, so I put on a leather jacket over a red tank top. DAWN I have always been drawn to guys who were jerks. Kind of like the one I met just now. What did he say his name was? Oh, right…Mike. What an ordinary name? Boring. Just like his personality and looks. Sure, he wasn’t ugly or average looking and had a nice body, but I’ve had better. He wasn’t someone I would want to fuck more than once. “Oh god, Dawn, that feels good,” he groaned as I leaned down and teased his nipple with my tongue. “You are a bad boy, Mike. How could you abandon that poor innocent girl to be with me? She would be angry and might not ever talk to you again, you know,” I said and giggled incessantly. I could care less about the girl, but I wanted to pretend like I was disappointed in him. “Don’t worry about her and focus on me, baby,” he said, breathing heavily. Oh, Mikey. You will pay for being an ass one day. “Well, that’s alright with me, Mikey. Because I think you are hot, and I’m going to fuck y

  • Marina   Chapter 10

M.D.I'll admit. I started to like Mike a little even though he was kind of an ass. It's kind of tragic that he is going to have to die soon. But, I didn't want to waste the whole day on him because I had other plans later. So, I decided to make it quick.I waited until everyone at the party left. He was the last one to be out of the house for obvious reasons. So I stopped him right before he got inside his car.He was surprised to see me at first, but then he smiled."What are you doing out here?" he asked.I smiled back and walked closer to him. "What you did back there wasn't very nice, you know," I said and wrapped my arms around his neck.Mike chuckled. "You don't seem terribly bothered by it.""Would you have cared if I was bothered by it?" I countered. What he is about to answer will determine how his death was going to be. Quick and painless or slow and fun.He reached over and touched my cheek. "Don't

LOGAN I squinted as the sunlight assaulted my eyes. "Ugh! It's too bright," I groaned. "You are the only person who complains on a sunny day like this," Marina said and laughed. "Whatever, let's just go inside," I suggested. It has been four months since the whole ordeal went down. Things had calmed down since Dawn or Maya was charged with all those murders. This town was peaceful again. Marina and I decided to move in together after I was released from the hospital. Well…she was the one who suggested it. She visited me every day until I was healed and took good care of me, so I couldn't say know. Besides, I was in love with her so I couldn't say no. Things were going great, but one thing always bugged me. Dawn had confessed to the police about all the people she killed, including those in her old hometown, but every time they questioned her about Marina's mother, and why she killed her, she denied it. She told them she

MARINAI stood there and didn’t know how to respond. Jason was brutally murdered for no reason, and it was because of me.“What is wrong with you!” I screamed.“Oh, sweetie. You don’t know the half of it,” she said mockingly. She stepped forward to get closer to me. “They all had to die, and now is your turn. I even killed the one person who cared about me, so I won’t let you leave here alive.”“Who?” I asked. I was curious even at a time like this. How many people had she killed so far?Dawn’s eyes turned dark. “Aaron. He was in love with me. He knew about all the things I did, but he never judged me, but this time he wanted to turn me in. I couldn’t let him, so I had to let him go. I still regret it.”She is too far gone, I realized. Here I thought my mother was the craziest woman I had ever made, but I was standing in front of a total psycho. At leas

I could feel his erection rubbing against my back.I moaned as he rubbed my clit with his fingers, stroking me slowly and carefully. I was growing wet down there, and I know it wasn't from the shower."Logan...ahh...that feels good," I said between moaning."You are so beautiful," he growled and rubbed me faster. My body shook as little as I felt tingly spasms all over my body."Put your hands on the wall," he ordered.I blushed and did as he asked. DAWNI decided it was time to do something about Logan Hill. I thought they would suspect him since he was a creepy-ass bastard, so I was excited when they took him in. But it was all wrong because all the evidence wasn't pointed at him. The only reason they took him in was that he was found near Aaron's dead body while trespassing.I knew it wasn't enough evidence to lock him up, but that's okay because there was a second suspect.Marina.She was seen with all the victims right before they died, and she discovered two of the dead bodies. Those bodies were even marked with her lipstick. So it was a no-brainer that she was the one who killed all of them. I hope it was enough for the FBI to investigate her. I knew they had already questioned her several times. I wish they would do something sooner as I was still upset about Aaron.I loved Aaron. He was more than just a maid's son to me. And I knew he loved me back. He always tried to take care of me.

MARINASo, this is what it’s like to have your own space and freedom? I thought as I walked around the empty house. With my mother being gone, it was just me now. It was peaceful. It was the weekend, and I didn’t have any classes, so I slept in as much as I wanted. Normally, I would be up early in the morning to make her breakfast, then clean and dust the entire house until it was spotless. No more. When I woke up, the first thing I did was pack some of her things into a box. Then I made some calls to her sister to make arrangements for the funeral. I’m assuming it wouldn’t be an open casket with all those wounds on her body.I was hungry during the midafternoon, so I started to cook some spaghetti while humming my favorite Disney tune. I was in heaven. The phone started ringing. I took one look and frowned when I saw agent Danna’s number. Dammit…I was having such a nice day!“Can I he

Miles asked with his voice full of amazement."Miles, you're alive," I exclaimed"Yes, I'm alive, last time I checked. Was I supposed to be dead?" He asked."We, I mean Logan, found your dead body in the shed. You were missing your head," I said even though I knew I sounded stupid as we all know that it wasn't miles in the shed."Well, now you know I'm alive, and my head is intact," Miles joked, then turned serious immediately.
