Mansterville Part 2

*Mansterville Part 2*

~Waverly~

I had finally settled down after the most exciting day I'd had since mine & Shay's last trip to the new mall a couple towns away.

What with the sudden arrival of our unusual new neighbors, not to mention the high school stoner's claims of a hairy feral beast running rampant about town. All in all it had indeed been quite a riveting day.

I laid back on the sofa with my tablet twirling my hair reading a book. Suddenly my ears picked up on one of the moving trucks rumbling to life. My eyes shifted curiously as I pulled myself up from the couch slinking my way to the door cracking it open to peer out sneakily.

I was tired of being cooped up inside and thought maybe I should just slip out for a little evening stroll through the yard. I slipped on my  battered flip flops and one of my mom's old ratty sweaters hanging on the small coat rack & headed out the door.

I ambled across the veranda and down the steps onto the stone walkway. A chilly breeze kicked up dead leaves causing chill bumps to pop up as I pulled the fuzzy sweater tighter around me. The evenings were most definitely becoming a lot cooler now that autumn was setting in. Wouldn't be much longer before snow was falling and they were decorating for Christmas, which had always been mine & Shay's most favored time of year.

I walked with my hands clasped together behind my back humming innocently, cutting my eyes toward the place across the road where the two vehicles were parked in front of the tall Iron gates. I still heard the truck's engine running, yet no one had left yet.

All at once I heard voices. I quickly turned away squatting down as if I were intrigued by something on the sidewalk. I felt like such an imbecile. Was this what I'd resorted to with my pitiful lack of a social life?

"Ughh I'm paaaathetic." I sang out lowly to myself as I rose stubbornly, scolding myself at the feeble attempt to look inconspicuous.

"Ahh yes...Check the mail....that's what I need to do........again." I mumbled puffing out with exasperation.

I strolled to the end of our walk keeping my eyes averted from the voices I'd heard. I was pretty sure I couldn't be seen with the tall thick hedges that lined the front yard. I stepped down the few concrete steps to the mailbox, opening it and shoving my hand deep inside, then bending forward as if I needed to look closely to make certain it was empty, knowing damn well it was.

I suddenly heard a guy yell over to me. Which completely blew my mind. How the hell had he noticed me? Maybe he was talking to someone else...yea that's what it was. I ignored the loud call.

"Hey you! Girl down there at the mailbox! " He called out, waving his hand.

I pointed to myself.

"Yea you!" He held up his hand like he wanted me to give him a minute. I should run in the house right now before he actually comes down here! I thought to myself.

"Oh no! fuck me!" I mumbled to myself gritting my teeth, body seizing up tightly.

I gave the dark haired guy a forced tight lipped smile with a small wave of my hand.

God! I looked like one of those snotty beauty queens during those festivals that rode through the center of town with their ass perched up on the backseat of a long fancy convertible waving to the crowds with her pointed nose stuck high in the air.

He jumped in the suv starting it and heading in my direction stopping right beside me as I stood with my mouth gaped open in utter shock. Here I was in my chewed up flops, my hair in an even messier than usual messy ball sitting atop the crown of my noggin that would bob around with the slightest movement I made, long stray pieces of hair flying out all around my face....I was feeling mondo shame for my hideous appearance.

Why the fuck had I even come out here in the first place? Oh yeah...that's right, I'm a nosey bitch...that's why. And this was my ultimate mega punishment for behaving like a meddling old lady. All I lacked was the cane and bifocals sitting at the tip of my nose to complete the look.

My heart began contracting at an enormous rate. He shut his car off and stepped out walking around to me. Holy shit I just wanted to go hide....but I couldn't....my ass was caught.

That damned old song 'Pony' by 'Ginuwine' popped into my head as I watched him.

(If your horny, let's do it, ride it... my pony

My saddles waiting, come and jump on it.)

Mom, why the hell did you force me to watch all the magic Mike movies with you last week?! Jesus help me! I screamed inside, swallowing hard.

He wasn't the guy I'd seen sniffing out the land earlier. This dude was playin with some ultra strong sex appeal though. That cute sly smile and toned muscled body...those God forsaken jeans cuddling him just right. And those thighs....I had never seen a guy wear his clothes so well and surmised he'd "measure up" quite nicely without them too.

I wasn't sure I'd make it through this little welcome to the neighborhood meet and greet. I sucked in a deep breath, feeling like someone had a flaming torch within inches of my face the closer he got.

"Hi...I'm Bailey. Thought I'd come and say hello since we're new neighbors." He smiled holding out his hand to shake mine.

"Oh yea...h...hi. I...im Waverly. Very nice to meet you Baily." I sputtered out, my voice sounding ridiculously shaky as he squeezed my hand lightly shaking it a bit longer than I felt was necessary..but I was ok with that.

"Waverly.....what a unique name. I like that." He replied, staring into my eyes closely and of course I knew exactly why.

"Ohh...oh damn! You have such fascinating eyes. They are....just wow!" He kept staring as though he were in some sorta trance. "I'm sorry I...I don't mean to gawk, it...it's just I have never met anyone with such awesome eyes...absolutely stunning." He spoke in amazement with a slight smile on his lips.

I felt like a new species he had just discovered with the way he was staring at me. Yet alotta folks did the very same thing, so I was a bit accustomed to the attention.

"Uhm thanks? A parting gift from my nonexistent father. S...so do you think you'll like living here in such a rural area Baily." I asked, trying to sway the subject to anything other than my bizarre eyes.

"Well....my brothers and I are actually from this town. We own this house...just been away for a while. So yeah we're ok with everything....this is home. But I will say that I like it alot more now that I've met you, Waverly. I hope we can be friends. M..maybe you could come over and hang out soon...if you could...or I mean if you...you know if you wanted to." He shook his head scratching the back of his neck, chuckling nervously. Which I found so damn cute. I couldn't help but to giggle a bit.

I stood silent for a moment just appreciating how attractive he actually was. This man was built so perfectly. It was abundantly clear that he worked out on a regular basis. I felt such guilt since the only activity I'd gotten as of late was lifting my mom's fudge brownies to my mouth.

I wasn't sure if Shay was aware that she was completely sabotaging any future dating life I may have because of those damn gooey, chocolaty squares of pure fat. My ass had taken on the shape of two personal sized watermelons that bopped with every step I took. I couldn't even begin to imagine if I were to try and take off running, the thoughts made me cringe as I tugged the sweater down over my rump in humiliation. Note to self...(no more fucking brownies.)

"Maybe sometime....I could do that... After we get to know each other a bit more of course. " I answered, giving him a shy smile staring up biting my lip as a small smirk appeared on those nice plump lips of his.

"Oh...of course....of course. I certainly wouldn't expect you to jump in the car and run away with me at this very moment. Would you though?" He raised his brows looking at me like he was waiting for a reply.

I stood unable to form words, my mouth hanging opening shock.

"I'm Just kidding! Just kidding!" He chuckled, smiling wider.

I breathed a sigh of relief. Okaaay....so I believe this guy kinda likes me.

"Baily! God damnit get your ass down here and stop flirting with the pretty neighbor girl! Come on! We need some help carrying this heavy shit inside the house!" A male's loud voice bellowed out down to the two of us. I looked in the direction to see a tall blondish haired male with glasses standing with his hands on his hips, a teasing dimpled grin spread across his face. He was a very attractive man as well. Damn these dudes were hot as fuck, that was for sure.

I covered my mouth, unable to control my laughter.

Bailey's face turned a bright shade of crimson red from the guy's embarrassing comment.

"Sorry about that...my brother is a huge asshole with an equally big mouth. I better go before Tayzon comes and starts his shit next. It...it was a pleasure to meet you Waverly. He reached over grabbing my hand again shaking it and rubbing his thumb gently over my knuckles...causing my belly to do flips.

"Would it be ok if I....if I come over tomorrow around this time and talk to you a little more Waverly. Would that be ok with you?" He gave me a hopeful look.

"Sure....yea. I...I think I'd enjoy that." I lowered my eyes to my feet kicking some stones around with the toe of my flip flop.

"Ok then. I'll see you tomorrow then. Bye Waverly." He smiled so cute I couldn't help but smile back staring into his eyes that were flecked with what looked like golden stars as he backed away from me nearly tripping. I let out a little giggle covering my mouth.

He finally turned around and got into his vehicle just as my mom was pulling into the drive.

He gave me a little wave. I wiggled my fingers bashfully as he circled the car around and went back up the road turning down his driveway.

I turned walking slowly over to Shay as she stepped outta the car puffing tiredly.

"Who was that cute little dish?" My mom smiled sheepishly at me while gathering her laptop and shoulder bag from the car.

"That was one of our new neighbors....Bailey is his name." I smiled, biting my lip. My cheeks turning pink.

"Ahh...would he be the "Magnificent, living, breathing piece of art" you so graciously described to me today?" She gave me a teasing look.

"Noo...but he's just as magnificent as the other one. And he's already asked me if he could come over tomorrow and talk to me for a bit." I breathed out a heavy sigh.

My mom stood staring at me with her eyebrows jacket up.

"And you said no right?" She asked, her lips thinned and eyes narrowed.

"I told him yea sure. He's not coming inside Shay. We...we'll just sit on the porch or something. But I most certainly will not let him come inside the house." I assured her, raising my own brows with a silly grin locked on my lips.

"Mhmm...ok. We'll see how that goes." She smiled cheekily. "So tell me, have you eaten yet? Or have you been out here talking to Mr Magnificent and skipped dinner altogether?"

"No I haven't eaten and we didn't talk but for maybe 10 minutes." I crossed my arms over my chest still unable to wipe the permanent smile from my mouth.

"Come on little lady. I can not take you seriously with that silly grin on your face. Let's go find something to eat. And I may make us some of those yummy brownies for dessert. " She ushered me inside the house, both of us snickering.
