Snow "How did it go?" Cody asks immediately as I enter the living room. "It went well." I reply without meeting his eyes. I attempt to walk away but he doesn't let me. "Talk to me Snow." He says. "About what? I can't trust you anymore." I reply coldly. "Just hear me out." He pleads. "I'm really tired and I want to go to bed so please leave me alone." I state. "You're not even hungry? I made dinner." He offers. "I ate with Andre before coming." "Snow." "Let me pass Cody." He stares down at me as I glare at him. When he doesn't make any move to let me pass, I push past him to walk away to my room. He grabs my hand before I'm able to get away from him and pulls me into him. "What are you doing?" I ask him. "Lee and I are the only ones that know about your amnesia and the accident that brought about that." He starts. "So?" "Has anything happened to you since we knew about that?" His hold on my arm tightens and I wince. "Kylie." "What about her?" I raise a brow at him. "She'
Cody "Mr. Harrison, we'll have to discuss this properly. You do know that we have to get everything prepared before we meet with our client, Mr. Boadi, our Ghanaian client. You must know that he doesn't like to be kept waiting. " "I'm aware of that, Mr. Wells. I'll have it done as soon as possible." "Hello son." Mother interrupts us. "Excuse me Sir." Mr. Harrison says and leaves my office. "What are you doing here mother? Aren't you supposed to be in the hospital right now?" "I'm here because you and I seriously need to talk." She takes a seat in front of me. "What's there to talk about?" I ask bluntly. "If you're here to complain to me, then please don't. I have a lot of work to do. I need you to leave me to work." "I'm very disappointed in you Cody. How can you leave Kesha to be with Snow?" I roll my eyes. "Kesha has all the qualities to be your wife. What more do you want? Snow is not fit to be in a relationship with you and as your mother, I do not approve." "You never act
Cody "I told you I could handle it." Snow says in a weak voice, smiling at me. "You passed out. How was that handled?" I ask her. "I was feeling nauseous and dizzy while I was in there. I guess I'm claustrophobic." She chuckles. "It's alright. You're tired right now. Get some rest. I have to get back to work." "You're leaving me here?" "No. I'm not. This is my personal work space. No one will come here, except Lee, Sam and I." "But you're still leaving me here." She whines. "I have to so that you can rest. The drugs you took earlier will let you sleep like a baby so i have to leave you." "Fine." She pouts. "I'll see you when I wake up." "Sure." I wave at her leave my personal space, making sure to lock the room. It's a room I designed inside my office to look like a mini apartment just with a bedroom, bathroom and living room. I usually stay over when I have a lot of work to complete before the next day. So when I sleep in the office, I actually sleep in a comfortable space.
Snow "Did you see Kesha while you were entering the building?" Detective Parker asked. Cody leans closer to us. "Yes. I was entering with her. Then when we got to the elevator and she saw me, she muttered to herself, loud enough for me to hear, that she isn't riding the same elevator that I will be riding. Then she smirked and walked away." "Did she mention anything else to you?" "No. I didn't want her to bother me and ruin my day. I was coming to see Cody about something." I feel my cheeks heat up as I mention this. I feel ridiculous and slightly embarrassed that I'm blushing in front of the Detective and Cody. Cody winks at me and smirks. "That was not important. What I found weird was that no one was in there with me. When I got to the elevators, and the employees saw me, they just let me ride alone." I turn to Cody. "Did you ask them to do that?" "I didn't ask them to do that. But maybe they were showing you respect or something as my girlfriend." "Maybe, Mr. Wells, maybe."
Snow "Hey Lily. Do not show this message to anyone or let them know about it. I want you to meet me at the bar we last met. I have something to show you." Then I remember the flashdrive he gave me. Now I really want to see him and confront him about it. Thinking about it makes me annoyed. But can I trust James? He fooled me the last time, I don't want to be fooled again. Maybe I should go and listen to what he has to say. Maybe he wants to apologise and will actually show me something that will help me with this tough ongoing case. But what if this is a trap? No. I should stop thinking too much. I doubt this is a trap. Why would James want to trap me? I can go to him with the police as my backup, but my problem is Cody. He'll be so pissed to the extent that he might grow cold towards me. I don't want to risk ruining our relationship. I should go back to bed. I'm sure I'll have a clear mind by the time I wake up. And maybe if I can think of a way to tell Cody and make it seem like a
Snow "Good day Miss Jenkins." Detective Parker greets. "I hope you're feeling better today." "I am. Thanks for asking." I look around for Andre. Like always, he's late again. "Where is Andre?" I ask the Detective. "Andre is with the other batch. He found an old burnt up warehouse where the traffickers used to hide the kidnapped women and children." "He did?" I ask, astonished. "He did. They also found some chemicals in an old stinky lab like you described the other time. My boys in the forensic department had them analysed and we discovered that those are prototypes of the ZIP that was used on you." "That's amazing." I beam. "It is. You were the one who busted them." The Detective continues. I gasp in response. "Andre is indeed the mystery solver. He was able to find clues that proved you were there. We checked our records to see if anything happened on that day and we found something. You anonymously tipped us while you were being chased by two traffickers. We came in but we di
Snow I enter the shop that Mrs Wells was in and is now coming out of and I intentionally bump into her making her drop her items. "What in the world is–" She starts but stops when she realises it was me that bumped into her. I flash her an innocent smile. "Oops. Sorry." I giggle. "Let me help you." The plan here is to annoy her so much that she might tell me what she's going to do to me. Or what she planned on doing to me in order to hurt me. "You." She snarls. "Aren’t you supposed to be in a hospital? You're supposed to be dead." Point one marked down. "Yeah, well, I'm not. I'm a tough woman. You should know that." She looks at me with disgust. I maintain my smile. I kneel down and pick her stuff for her. She snatches them from me, still scowling. "I don't have time for you." She says. "Let me pass." "Oh I actually wanted to talk to you about something which is very important. It's about your son." She stops and turns to look at me, glaring swords and daggers at me. This woman
Cody I was so devastated when I heard that Snow was shot at the mall when she went to see my mother. I really shouldn't have let her go through with it. And now she's in a coma and I don't know when she'll wake up. I feel like this is all my fault. When Andre called me, he was talking so fast that I couldn't hear a word that he was saying. There were blaring siren noises in the background, I wondered what was going on. When I asked him to slow down and speak, I wasn't expecting to hear those dreadful words from his mouth. "You should come fast. Snow was meeting with your mother when all of a sudden there was a gunshot. The police haven't found the shooter yet. Come to the hospital quickly." I left my office as soon as I heard Andre. I didn't wait for anything. I headed straight to the hospital to see Snow, Sam came with me. We met Andre at the entrance and he told us that she was currently being operated on. I paced around for about four hours until the operation was done. One doct
Snow “So as I was saying,” I continue after, putting the phone on charge. “Carlos loves you and I’m pretty sure he’ll do anything to be with you.” Miranda gasps. “You really think so.” “I know so. Teenage love is easier to identify. So beautiful and tenderly, so kind.” I sigh dramatically and we both burst into laughter. “Ok. Now I’m starving. Let’s go and find the girls and then later, we have breakfast. If my stomach rumbles again, don’t let it surprise you when I head in the direction of the breakfast lounge.” Miranda giggles and we both head out. I ask her to try calling Daya before we went to her room in the hotel. Then we bump into Cody. Miranda gasps dramatically. We gaze at each other for a while before she walks away, still giggling. Then I turn to Cody and raise a brow at him. He smiles at me and pulls me back into a my room. “What are you doi-“ He covers my mouth before I’m able to finish my sentence. Then he smashes his lips on mine, kissing me with need. He swallows my
Snow The days went by quickly as we prepared towards the wedding. Everyone was present a week before the day of the wedding. My aunt and uncle, Andre, Cody and Lee, Serena and some other friends of Cody and I. Daya and the planner triple checked everything to make sure that the decorations, food, my wedding dress, Cody’s wedding tuxedo, invitations and everything else was on point. The guests had already started arriving. Cody and I were grateful to see those who could make it and we kept expecting more of our guests to arrive. Inwardly, I was very happy that Ruby was being helpful. Lee planned pre-wedding celebrations for Cody and I to have fun before the day of our wedding ceremony. Dave, Daya’s husband joined in on the fun. I had my bridal shower three days ago and it was lovely. I had lots of fun with my family and friends. Knowing Lee, it was wild as it was expected, but we didn’t mind. On the next day, there was rehearsal dinner. It also went on smoothly until Lee started firew
Cody “Serena, have you made reservations for lunch?” “I have, Mr. Wells. I wasn’t sure of what to do since Mrs. Wells isn’t here so I just made reservations for two.” “Can you cancel? And did you just call my fiancé Mrs. Wells?” I look up at her, a smile creeping on my lips. Serena smiles and nods. “Mr. Wells asked me to call her that since you’ll be married in the next two months. In his words, ‘It wouldn’t hurt to start calling her Mrs. Wells. Those two were practically married before Cody decided to make it official.’” I chuckle. “Lee said that?” “He did, Sir.” She answers. “Alright. Just cancel my plans for lunch. I’ll be spending my lunch break talking to Snow.” “Or instead of cancelling, Lee and I can go and have lunch together. Just the two of us. That isn’t a bad idea, right?” “Of course not. Not at all.” I wink at her, making her blush. She excuses herself and exits my office. Before I hired Serena as my assistant, she was a waiter at Duquette’s café. My secretary wh
Snow "We're here Daya." I say happily settling down on my bed in our hotel suite. "That's great. You're at the hotel right? "Yeah." "I'm sure you'll find Carlos wondering around with his grandmother. If you do, let him drive you to Marco's Pastry Place. But if not, let me know. I'm kind of busy here at the bakery so I'll see you when you get here." "You're busy this evening?" "Yeah. Dave's father is hosting a small party for his friends and I'm in charge of the food. I need to get everything done on time. Then we can hang out afterwards." "Sure, but which of his grandmothers is he here with?" I try to hide the panic in my voice. Daya laughs. "That'll be a surprise for you." "A cruel one if it's Ruby." She bursts into laughter again. "Alright. I'll see you and Miranda when you get here. Have fun." Then she hangs up. "Andy." I call out. "Yes Mom?" " I just called Daya. She said Carlos is around. You can call him if you want." "I've already done that, he'll be here any seco
Snow A year ago, we went on a vacation in London where we met with one of Cody’s old friends and his wife and children. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson are really nice people that welcomed us warmly. It was a very nice experience, spending a week with them. Not to mention that Miranda had a great time with their son Carlos who’s three years older than her. Though she hates to admit it, she did have a lot of fun in London and I’m certain Carlos and Miranda contact each other. Mrs. Daya Robinson, a renowned baker in London and one of the owners of Lena’s Bakery all around the country. She manages the bakeries with her brother, Marco Sanchez. Daya was very friendly and we got along so well. Especially after I found out that her mother was someone I’ve been trying to track for a long time and almost got killed by her but she let me go for unknown reasons. Ruby Crest, the black tigress, a very fierce woman. A mafia empressMr. Dave Robinson, the CEO of Robinson Industries. He’s such a handsome man
Snow “Miranda?” I knock on her door. “Can I come in?” I ask softly. The door opens and Miranda looks up at me. “You can come in.” She opens the doors wider and lets me in. I walk to her desk and have a seat on her chair. “Is there anything I can help you with, Mom?” “I wanted to talk to you.” “Come have a seat on the bed with me. It’s good that you brought this up.” I look at her with furrowed brows. “It is?” I ask her and she nods. I sit beside her on the bed, kicking off my shoes and crossing my legs so that I’m sitting opposite her in the same position. She urges me to speak and I continue but then I ask her, “what is it that you think I’m bringing up here? I want to be sure that we’re on the same page here.” “Aren’t you here to talk about us? You and I?” She waves her finger between us. “I am.” “Let me apologize first. I’ve always wanted to but I didn’t know how to bring it up.” “Don’t worry about that Miranda.” “No. I want to apologize for my attitude towards you. I’m r
Cody “Hey Dad.” “Miranda?” I look up at her as she enters the study. “I was wondering if I could sleep over at Jessie’s place tomorrow night.” “A sleepover? I don’t mind. But your Mom and I were also planning on spending the weekend together at the lake house, where we’re planning the wedding.” “I don’t feel like going Dad.” Miranda tells me in a soft voice. “I understand but you have to be there. You don’t want to be left out, do you?” “Please Dad.” Miranda begs. I sigh. “I’ll let Snow understand that you want to have a sleepover at Jessie’s place. I’m sure she won’t mind. Will there be other girls?” “It’s just Jessie and I.” She replies softly. “Then I’ll have Joseph drop you off tomorrow after school.” “Thanks Dad.” “Don’t mention it. I just want to see you smiling always and since Jessie makes you smile, that’s just what we need. Know that Snow and I love you very much.” “I know. You say it all the time.” Miranda replies and walks out quietly. It’s been three years s
Snow "Miranda has been kidnapped." Andre says. "What? How?" I ask him, letting him in. "Cody!" I call out. "Andre? What is it?" "We've been trying to reach you two but your phones were off. We were able to track your last known location and I remembered your parents live here so I came as fast as I could. Miranda was kidnapped yesterday after school. Detective Parker is looking for her now." "Who do you think took her?" Cody asks him. "Kylie is off the grid which means that she probably took Miranda. A picture of Miranda, tied up in an old warehouse was sent to Sam." Andre explains to us. "Let's go. No time to pack up." Cody says. We both run upstairs to get our phones while Andre leaves ahead of us. Then we make sure to lock the house and leave. Cody drives us back while I try to call Sam. Fifteen missed calls from her, Lee and Andre. I suddenly feel bad. If only we didn't decide to get drunk, we would've heard about the news and be there with Sam as the police search for Mir
Snow "Oh my God. My head hurts." I cry out loud and wince. My own voice piercing my ears, worsening the pain in my head. "This is the worst hangover I've ever had." Cody whispers. "No one has ever had a great hangover. But I agree, this is the worst. We should keep whispering. At least our voices won't worsen the pain." Unable to get up, Cody and I crawl to the kitchen. I spot the camera still secured in its corner. "How we managed to not break the camera is a miracle." I whisper "Indeed." Cody laughs and winces. "My throat hurts so bad." "Me too." We crawl to one cabinet in the kitchen which was thankfully located within our reach. Cody pulls out the first aid kit from the cabinet and I search for aspirin in the kit. Sitting on the ground, we take in the aspirin, slowly get up and fill glasses with water. We gulp it down and sit on the ground again. "I can't wait to watch what the video of what we did while we were drunk. My entire body hurts." I say to Cody "My arms hurt so
