Emma.
“Emma Addison…”
The rumble in his voice drove my thumping chest over the edge. My name was smoothly pronounced in his fresh hot American accent. His coarse low tone vibrates through my senses making my legs feel like spaghetti.
I watched as his dark evergreen eyes penetrated my copper ones. The chartreuse color in them glowing, devouring me into clear nature.
“It's been so long, Emma.” He called again, tugging the right side of his lips into a smirk.
I felt my insides tremble, goosebumps finding their way to my right hand that he had clasped to the wall.
“I-I don't know what you're talking about.” I didn't break the stare, my gaze fighting with his.
My heart was left in a beating mess as I silently wished he would just let go and forget this whole encounter. The best way to get out of this was to deny me.
Should I have changed my identity before coming here? Why hadn't I checked the details of the application before applying? I'm slowly starting to regret ever signing up for this.
He dropped his smirk into an emotionless expression after hearing my words. His eyes impossibly turned dark and intimidating and it made my stomach do weird flip-flops.
He inched closer to my face, just a little bit more and our nose would be touching.
I held my breath immediately, averting my head to the side.
He scowled before grabbing my jaw with his strong grip and shifting my face to his so my eyes would clash with his again.
“Liar. You and I both know you're fibbing.” His hot minty breath fanned my face as his strong hand slipped down to clasp my neck.
I gasped at the sudden action. A blush crept across my cheeks as I held the hand that strangled my neck.
“Let go.” I glared spitefully at the arrogant bastard forgetting I worked for him.
“Why should I when you're just gonna run off denying yourself.” He tightened his grip.
I frowned, “You’re hurting me.”
“Well, it would be easier if you could just admit, Emma.” He constricted, making me gasp.
I struggled to breathe, feeling the air leave my lungs. He shouldn't be thinking I'm the same girl he used to taunt. He always gets what he wants and I'm certainly not gonna allow that.
Without thinking, I reached with my free hand to push Jax, shoving him off with all the power I could mobilize, but as unfortunate and jinxed as I am…
He didn't bulge.
“Sir… Please let go, this is inappropriate.”I squirmed under his hold.
He scoffed before grabbing both my hands, pinning them above my head with one solid grip.
I bit my lip at the sudden action meeting his eyes and writhing uncontrollably.
He drew dangerously close, “I like seeing you look so helpless underneath me.” He trailed his eyes downwards, staring at my chest before he met my gaze again.
I so much want to spit at his face. He made me feel like shit. His actions, words, and expressions. Everything about him made me feel like shit.
The pain around my wrist flooded memories into my head, recalling all the things he had done and made me do. He was still the same, he hadn't changed and never will.
And the painful thing back in high school was after he would quit his tormenting, I'll come home to receive beatings from my dad.
He was oblivious to my way of living and acted without thinking.
Jax was horrible.
Bitter tears formed in my eyes, my lips trembling as I struggled not to release a whimper.
Jax flinched slightly at my sudden tears, glowering.
He released his hold on me before grabbing my collar and dragging me out of his bathroom.
Immediately we reached where the coffee was spilled, he pushed me to the floor making me hit my body harshly on the rough ground. I blubbered.
“Lick it.” He said.
“W-what?” I blinked with teary eyes slowly sitting up.
“Lick the coffee right off the floor then you can go.”
He bluntly said, staring at me with all seriousness. There’s no way he was joking, Jax was always earnest about his punishments.
With that deep look in his eyes, he could send a hundred men bowing at his feet.
“But sir…I…-”
“Lick. It.” He growled, I felt myself gulp as I stared at the brown-like liquid on the floor.
Is he doing this because I didn't admit it myself? Does he have to go that far? I wish someone would just enter the room. Jax was truly the same and hadn't changed a bit. His ugly personality was still as present as day. I thought maybe if he grew up a little, he would change his ways.
Sadly, it's only his features that are modified, leaving his unsightly character behind.
Everything in me was screaming ‘lick it before he hurts you’ but I didn't want to listen. I listened to the opposite instead as I stared intensely at the fluid.
And with the boldness that I had been trying to retain, I enunciated.
“No.”
Jax paused, his stare deepening with every beat of my heart. I could no longer see the bright nature in his eyes.
He clenched his jaw, a vein popping by his forehead with his fist tightening. He chuckled deeply, lowering his head and making strands of his hair fall into his face.
My body quivered knowing what I had just gotten myself into.
“You're gonna regret that.”
His voice was dangerously low.
Emma. “You're gonna regret that.” His voice was dangerously low. The roughness was evident against his steel tone. His face held indescribable gravity, pulling me down to an endless depth. “I-I…” My body shook just as he was about to reach me with his large hands. Jax roughly strangled me in his grasp, raising me to my feet that barely touched the tiled floor. I choked, my voice straining. “Now I remember why you always seemed to piss me off.” He muttered into my face, his hot breath blowing across my skin. “P-please…” I coughed, my hands holding his grip with eyes pleading with another round of tears threatening to spill. His expression darkened as I awaited his next move. The buzzing of his ringing phone stopped his actions, making him scowl at me before he dug his free palm into the side pocket of his pants. “Hello?” He groaned angrily, pinning his eyes on me. There was silence, his face crinkling before he gritted his teeth and furrowed his thick brows. “Okay, I'm on my
Emma. The tall tan skinned gardener stared, awaiting my reply. He had a decent amount of muscle making him look fit with his no beard face and brown eyes staring straight at me. I was on the verge of running away, knowing I didn’t want to reveal myself in front of this stranger that knew nothing about me.Talon’s expression dropped, his brows scrunching up as he gaped at me.“Did someone do this?” He pointed, raising a brow up.“No!” I gasp-yelled, hands stretched out slightly with my heart racing from his hypothesis. He widened his eyes at my outburst. He definitely didn't buy it, now he knows someone really did this to me.“I-I mean… Yes! My roommate, Alice and I were just playing… Haha… I…uh just came back from Miss Dorota to…uh ask for the first aid kit because I hurt my neck…haha.” I figured, pouring lies upon lies, adding another lie on top of the other.“Oh the chestnut haired.” he said slowly nodding his head.“Yep!” The tension was getting worse as I tried to cover it with a
Jax.“Sir, please spare me. I promise this won't happen again!” The security Head knelt in front of my desk as he begged before me.I chuckled deeply, “Spare you say…”He nodded eagerly, hoping I would give him a second chance.“You let those dogs you call family into my company and now you're saying I should spare you???” I thundered harshly, my eyes glowing and my grip tightening. The security Head whimpered, lowering his head so he wouldn't meet my gaze.“I'm s-so-...”“Shut the fuck up, you dweep!” I slammed my fist on the desk, the gadgets and paper files bouncing slightly from the impact.I glared maliciously before making my sentence.“I want your pathetic family and sick self out of this building. Now!” I scowled, bringing out my phone to inform my secretary.“Yes sir?” Stacey, my secretary answered.“Fire everyone on the security team and organize an interview for new ones. Emma.“He raped a maid that used to work here,” Alice said after she sat on her mattress. The uneasiness was prominent in her voice.“What? How???” I widened my eyes, shock printed on my face. The fact that he looked like an innocent guy with those brown eyes and a handsome face.“Look, I'm telling you this because I trust you and everything I'm about to say here shouldn't leave this door, Emma, promise me that first.” She stared straight into my eyes with a serious face. Alice joked all the time but this is the first time seeing her all solemn.“Yes yes! Absolutely.” I exclaimed, nodding profusely, wanting to hear the full gist from Alice.“Her name was Jane. She was mild and always so quiet, but what everybody liked about her was the fact that she was very respectful and obedient. She’d follow any orders you'll give her and soon some maids started using her for their own benefits. She was plain, innocent, the youngest…” She explained, fiddling with her fingers.“How old?” I asked, g
Emma.“I have been informed that the young master won't be back today, I expect all of you to be on good behavior, and endeavor to keep the mansion clean and no trail of dust or dirt should be spotted by me or the Family, Have I made myself clear?” Miss Dorota chimed, her hands behind her back as she made an order.“Yes, ma!” We all responded. Every morning, meetings are always held in the passage of the maid’s region. Miss Dorota’s room was the top room by the far veneer of the building. There were a couple of times when she slept in so it was just left for us to attend to our duties because no one had a sane mind of their own to wake that old wench. My new duty, since I'm no longer under inspection, was to serve the young Master’s coffee, attend to grandpa Amos’ morning, afternoon, and evening routine, Tidy the dining and living room areas, and last but not the least, trash the bin. I'm actually satisfied with my work, thank God I'm not cleaning anyone's room or bathroom.“Jasmine,
Emma.“Hey, you!” I turned to see Marissa calling from the opposite direction with Mary and Brittney beside her looking like side slaves for Marissa. I finally put the mop into the bucket filled with soapy water, facing them completely now. What do these cockroaches want? If they think they could mess with me, they should expect the complete opposite because I'm not as soft.“What do you want… Maid?” I replied, giving her the same energy, my voice echoing in the living room as I slowly slurred the new title I had given her.She crinkled her left brow, scowling. Her blue eyes shone with disdain plus Mary and Brittney's expressions held shock, dropping their jaws in surprise which made me scoff in satisfaction.I held my ground, doing a fake yawn with a plain and unconcerned face as the three demons continued to glare at me with their ugly eyes.“You’re really one to talk, Bitch!” She retorted, balling her small hand in a fist. Emma.I was on my way to trash the bin. My last duty for this morning. It has been a day since the young Master arrived and Marrissa has been surprisingly quiet, or more like I kept hiding from her.Since yesterday, maids have been throwing glares at me from each corner and space of this building. At first, I thought it was just a normal look but you could definitely tell that there was a little emotion there, an emotion I'd call envy.Even Miss Dorota always frowned whenever I was in her presence, digging her dull eyes into my soul. Emma.Moments before the incident…Our duties for today were finally finished. I had made sure to put Grandpa Amos to sleep, and Alice wasn’t around because she escorted the twins to their friends’ houses. So basically, I was alone in the room doing nothing. I swear, I’m literally bored without her.The room was awfully quiet. Just listening to the sounds of the fresh afternoon breeze blowing into the small room from the tiny window felt exceedingly calm. I hope Sofia was okay, I wished there was a way I could visit her.Pfft. I’m sure she’s missing me.Knock. Knock. Knock.Who could be knocking? Is Alice back?“Come in!” I raised my tone enough for the person to hear.Diana opened the door with a nervous expression. She lowered her head slightly, looking as edgy as ever.“Uh hey? What’s up? Weird that you suddenly visited.” I said, scanning her.“No, I’m not here to visit, haha. Anyways, Miss Dorota said I should call you outside. She needs to speak to you and just a heads up, She’s
Jax.Getting out of the shower to feel the cool breeze by my balcony was one thing that calmed me. Just taking in the environment and the far ends of New York with a sip of hot coffee emptied the unpleasant thoughts of Emma in my head. But all that crashed when my eyes landed on the garden.Finding her talking and laughing with that gardener really seemed to piss me off and I didn't know why. She was laughing so freely, smiling as though she hadn't other important things to do with her life. The crazy fucker even had the nerve to put his damn hands on her, caressing her skin which by obvious means made her uncomfortable, but as ludicrous and idiotic as the man could be, he was oblivious to his stupid actions.I would cut his hands off with those gardening scissors then he'll know that I wasn't just talented in making a lot of money. I was also talented in cutting off weeds which are generally known as unwanted crops!I should have him fired.Seeing Emma looking as innocent as ever irk
