Chapter 3: Their Primary Days

Eight years ago...

The next day, Samantha needed to wake up early to catch the first bus. Her little feet had to walk for 200 meters passing by the tall cypress trees before she could reach the wide iron gate.

After that, she had to walk for another 200 meters going to the bus stop for the mansion was situated in private residences where only exclusive taxis were allowed to go inside. By the time she arrived at the bus stop, either she was sweating all over or gasping for air.

"At least, I still have 5 minutes to rest before the bus arrives!" she murmured as she sat on the bench.

When she saw a black luxurious Mercedes-Benz turning right passing by the stop, she hoped the one riding in the backseat would see her situation and his conscience would kick him hard but h*ck No!

That will never happen she thought as she ignored the Michaels' car that just drove by. When the bus arrived, she got up at once and waited for it to stop.

As it stopped in front of her, the automatic door opened and a smiling greeting from the driver welcomed her.

"Good morning, Little Fairy!"

"Good morning, sir!" she replied as she stepped her leg up and sat behind the driver.

"You're early today!" the driver started a talk with her.

"It's hard to be late for school. The punishment is killing me," she joked as she glanced at the window.

"You're right! You should always come at this time from now on!" the driver glanced at her from the rearview mirror from time to time.

Samantha just nodded. Her eyes were glued to her young master's car that was beside the bus. It was red light so they both halted and because it was also traffic, she thought they would stay that way for a while.

"The window is tinted. Who knows what he's been doing inside. Maybe, he's busy texting his admirer!" she sighed and just sat straight.

Samantha had no idea that Albert was also looking at her. He memorized her facial features. She just arrived in their mansion last week but he never really had seen her go out of the servants' quarter.

And yesterday, out of anger he chased her out of his car like a street dog. Although he saw her in the canteen serving food, he didn't really look at her.

This time, he scanned Samantha like a specimen on a petri dish.

"Almond eyes. Cute sharp pointed nose. Little pouted lips. Face may be just as small as my palm!" he said inwardly as he stared at his palm like measuring something. He was even nodding.

When he glanced at her again, she was now sitting straight. Her long ponytailed hair draped on one side of her shoulder. She looked down when she fixed her books that were nestling on her lap.

The twelve-year-old Albert was mesmerized by her simple action that he didn't realize his deep light brown eyes were fixed on her.

"Beautiful!" he whispered.

"What is it, Young Master?" Andy asked as he glanced at the rearview mirror. He seemed to hear him mutter something.

"Huh? Nothing!" Albert narrowed his eyes and sat straight.

As the vehicles on the congested highway started moving, he looked ahead but his orbs sideglanced at the girl sitting on the bus once in a while.

He arrived at school first but he didn't go to his class right away. He walked towards the pine trees and glanced around. His aura was regal with his post. One hand was inside his pocket while the other hand was holding the strap of his backpack which was hanging on his shoulder. The girls passing by couldn't help but turn their heads and giggle.

"He is so handsome. I wonder who is he waiting for!" one girl uttered.

"Girl, don't you recognize him? That's Young Master Albert Michaels!" another girl uttered.

"I know. That's why I wonder if he is waiting for a girl!" the first girl nudged her elbow.

"Maybe. I envy that girl!" the other girl pouted her lips.

Albert was patiently waiting for almost fifteen minutes before the bus stopped nearby the front gate of the school.

When Samantha emerged on the door frame, his face left a slight smile. He followed her direction with his gaze and when she was already inside the entrance, he left and went to his first class.

Samantha hastily strode towards her first period which was Physical Education. Their teacher said they'll have a volleyball game today.

"Nice! I can see the school's basketball team practicing!" Andrea, a cheeky but also kindhearted student jumped to her seat right away.

She was sitting beside Samantha so even her, she smiled at Andrea's gesture. While fixing her books on her desk, Andrea nudged her elbow.

"Your name is Samantha, right?"

"Yes!" she nodded with a smile.

"I'm Andrea. Can I call you Sam?" she held her hand.

"Yes, you can call me Sam. Nice to meet you, Andrea!" she uttered as she accepted her handshake.

When they're heading to the gym, Andrea kept on talking.

"I hope the basketball team will practice this morning. Can't wait to see my favorite, Albert Michaels haay!" she said while heaving a sigh of admiration.

Samantha glanced at her upon hearing Albert's name. She twitched her lips at once.

"If only you know, he is an arrogant self-centered person, hmp!" Samantha snorted.

"What's wrong?" Andrea asked when she saw her expression.

"Huh? Nothing!" Denying while glancing around. But when Andrea gasped, she glanced in the direction she was staring at.

"Sam, he's here. Oh my! He's so handsome!" she giggled while holding Samantha's hand.

She just nodded while smiling. Deep inside she was not convinced.

"He has only flawless snow-white skin, long slender legs, and thick tousled hair. Same with other students!" she uttered inwardly.

After about a few minutes, they started playing. Andrea and Samantha were on the same team. Their PE uniform was a grey and blue shiny shirt and blue shorts. They had their names or nicknames on the back of their shirts and their numbers in big writes like a uniform of a basketball player but with short sleeves.

On the other court that was just divided by an adjustable thick glass wall and height as high as 200 cm, the varsity team could see and hear the girls playing volleyball.

"Bro, belles!" Eddie smiled as he gestured for Albert to turn around.

When he looked at what Eddie was referring to, he caught a glimpse at the one serving.

"Woo! She's pretty!" Eddie uttered.

"Who?" Albert asked. His focus was on the one serving the ball.

"Who else? The server! Can't you see? Look at those legs!" Eddie smiled.

Albert frowned right away. That's when Chester went towards them.

"She seems new. I saw her serving in the Canteen yesterday. Hey! She turned around. What's her name?" Chester excitingly exclaimed.

"Sam! Cute!" Eddie replied.

"We're supposed to be practicing not spying around!" Albert roared as he left his friends and went to the dressing room.

"What's the matter with him?" Eddie and Chester were left dumbfounded.

"Don't know! So, are you going to introduce yourself?" Chester teased.

"Bro, we're still in the primary years. Not yet the right time!" Eddie chuckled.

"But at least start knowing her background!" Chester suggested.

"You're right about that!" Eddie nodded while his eyes were fixed on Samantha.

At that time, Samantha focused on playing when she felt some prying eyes looking in their direction. When she took a glance at the other court, she saw Albert and his friends staring at her.

"Hey, are they looking at us?" Andrea who was beside her asked.

"I don't know!" she replied as she walloped the ball going to the other team.

After their game, she was wiping her face and neck with a hand towel when Eddie and Chester approached them.

"Sam, right? I'm Eddie!" wearing his best smile and stretching his soft hand, Samantha just stared at him.

"Yes, her name is Sam. I'm Andrea!" she accepted Eddie's handshake of which the latter gestured a 'thank you for saving me from embarrassment' wink.

"My name is Chester. Is your friend a new student here?" he asked not removing his eyes from the fierce-looking girl beside Andrea.

"Yes, she is. It's her first day yesterday!" Andrea replied while she glanced at Samantha.

That's when Albert went towards them.

"Hey! You take the car with me later!" he condescendingly uttered.

"Yes, Young Master!" she startled and stammered in her reply.

Even the three were surprised!

"What? She lives in your mansion, bro?" Eddie's eyes went wide.

"Sam, are you one of the Michaels' servants?" Andrea also asked forgetting they were just ten.

"No, but my parents are," Samantha politely replied.

"Such a small world. I think I will be going to visit your place every weekend!" Eddie told Albert which made him frown.

"Stop talking gibberish!" Albert scolded him right away.

"Hmm! We'll get going now!" Andrea uttered when she noticed some girls in their class were already glaring at them.

"Bye Sam. Bye Andrea!" Chester even winked.

"Let's go!" Andrea held Samantha's hand and strode out of the court.
