Vanna's POV
I didn't know what to think at that moment; while I was hugging Allan, it felt like I was losing my sanity. The worries in my heart were fading away. I didn’t realize we had been in that position for a long time.
"Vanna, you're soaked from the rain," I heard him say.
He wrapped his arms around my shoulders. "Come on, let's go inside; the rain is getting stronger." He added as he helped me walk. I won’t admit it, but my knees were getting weak. I was grappling with my mixed emotions at that time.
Next, I let Allan lead me to his room on the third floor. The hotel wasn’t large; in fact, it felt more like an inn for travelers and vacationers.
Once we got into the elevator, I couldn’t stand anymore and collapsed on the floor. Luckily, Allan quickly supported me.
"Are you okay, Vann?"
Even though my vision was blurry, I just nodded. I felt him carry me because of how unwell I was feeling.
"You&rsq
Magnus' POVWhile I was on the road with Ligaya, she mentioned that she was the daughter of a former detective agent. In fact, they run a business, and her father manages it. She said she was heading to Manila to visit him, so I gathered my courage to ask for help. I need her connections to locate Vanna immediately.I couldn't reach Peruv; he's probably off on his island again, where there's no signal, and if I'm unlucky, he might be busy with work."Sure, I'm totally fine with that, sir. My dad's servicing fee is pretty low," Ligaya smiled as she drove."How much?""Uh, probably around ten kiyaw," she continued."Ten thousand pesos or dollars?""Come on, sir, just pesos...""Alright, I'll pay right away," I said, and she just laughed."Oh, you're really funny, sir. Right away? Maybe we can do it in installments; you might end up broke. I think you need some new clothes," she pointed at my worn-out outfit, which seemed r
Vanna's POVI woke up to the sound of machinery beside me. I was startled to see that many things were attached to my hands, hoses and dextrose. I could see the white blanket covering me, the air was cold from the AC, but the light was filtered, and I was surrounded by curtains. My mind panicked even more when I noticed a red hose flowing toward me. It felt like they were transfusing me. Heck! I was screaming in my mind, but I couldn't move. What was happening?I saw a man sitting nearby, busy filling out forms that looked like billing and medications I needed to take.Even though I wanted to call out to him, I couldn’t do it; I couldn't even open my mouth. I felt numb at that moment, my eyes the only part of me observing what was going on. The last thing I remembered was the event outside Allan's hotel. The raindrops. The umbrella. And my scattered heart that had fallen into pieces at that time.I knew Magnus's secret; he was having an affair with Roxane, and they had been together f
Vanna's POVI have already left the hospital, and we are currently on an island. Before heading to Spain, Magnus and I decided to take a vacation and relax on the island of Cebu. There are many beaches here, and what's even more enjoyable is that there are lots of other vacationers, including newlyweds like us. We didn't bring Ysay along this time; Magnus wanted to have me all to himself at the beach."Where are we going?" I asked Magnus as he pulled my hand in a certain direction. After that incident, here we are, walking quickly along the shore that night. I could barely walk because my heels were sinking into the sand. Until we reached a candlelit restaurant where he secretly took me to relax a bit after the tense events back in Manila."Let's relax here; I need you to relax, my wife," he said to me in that daring voice of his. I couldn't even look away from his masculine figure; my gaze seemed glued to him.He is a living example of Adonis. I didn't even notice we had reached the
Vanna's POVI woke up to the bright sunlight, my body covered with a blanket. Magnus was no longer beside me, so I quickly sat up."Magnus?" I called out to him. I took the robe and used it as I stood up, firmly, even though I still felt pain in my intimate area. Slowly, I walked toward the kitchen. There, I saw him cooking."Good morning," I said, and he immediately smiled and came closer to me."Good morning, my wife. I was trying to surprise you with a morning breakfast, but you woke up earlier than I expected," he kissed my forehead. He was wearing an apron and holding a ladle."What are you cooking?" I asked as I sat at the small table in front of him. That cabin villa was just right for a couple. It had a small kitchen and bathroom, and there was also a veranda that faced the sea. The brightness of the sun was perfectly visible through its large windows."I am cooking egg drop soup with mushrooms, and then fried fish that you can dip in spicy sauce," he said eagerly. I didn't re
Before they went on vacationVanna's POV"Are you ready?" Magnus asked promptly; I know he doesn't want to support my idea. We had arrived at Roxane's unit. I could see her door. Magnus held my arms, signaling me to be gentle."I'm not going to hurt her, trust me." I smiled at him. He slowly let go of me and stepped back."I'll be waiting in the car, okay?" I heard him say."Okay," I replied.Once I saw that Magnus was gone, I knocked on her door for the third time."Who's there?" I heard from inside. I didn't respond; I just waited for her to open it.I stood there for a few minutes before she finally opened the door. When she did, I could see the shock in her eyes. She was about to close the door again, but luckily, I quickly pushed against the gap and held it open to prevent her from shutting it completely."What are you doing here?" she shot at me with angry eyes."Can't I visit a friend?" I teased back. She had no choice but to let me in. She fixed herself up and silently allowed
Magnu's POVAfter Ysay and I finished eating in the hospital cafeteria, we returned to the lounge to wait for an update from the doctor. He still hadn't emerged from the Emergency Room, and anxiety crept over me during that time."Daddy, why don't you call Uncle Peruvian so you have someone here with you in the hospital...""He's busy, baby.""Uh, how about Uncle Austin and Uncle Vittos?"I sighed briefly and shook my head. "They're busy, child.""Hmmm... what about Kuya Jay or Kuya Alfred?" Ysay's suggestion made me think of calling Jay; if he hadn't returned to Madrid yet, he might still be here in the Philippines."Alright, I'll call him, baby. So we have some company here," I smiled at her and patted her head, but before I could stand up, I saw the doctor come out. He looked in my direction."Excuse me, are you the one accompanying the patient?""Yes, doctor." I nodded and listened closely."Listen, sir, the patient is stable; we've removed the bullet, but we need to transfuse blo
Vanna's POVI woke up feeling completely numb; my entire body was tingling from the anesthesia they used. I don't know for sure, but I think I'm in a hospital. I can see the familiar machines beside me, and the scent of alcohol mixed with blood is everywhere. I know there's another reason I was admitted here again."You're awake..." I recognized that familiar voice. It's Jay, one of Magnus's men."Where is Magnus?" I scanned the room to see if he was there."He's not here; he had to take care of something for a bit, but he'll be back soon...""Where's Ysay?" I remembered she was with us when the incident happened."She's fine, she's with Jill.""Is she hurt?"He shook his head gently. "No, you're the only one who got injured, Vanna." His tone reminded me of a moment from before; it was the same voice of the man who visited me when I was hospitalized, the one who told me I was his sister. But I've decided not to confess right now. I want to learn more about him."Uh, Jay, I have a ques
Magnus' POVWe find ourselves sitting in the lounge of an airport in Madrid, Spain. It has been almost thirty minutes since we arrived there. We are waiting for our luggage, as it is still being retrieved from the airplane. Vanna is sitting beside me, wincing in pain from her side. She is still not fully recovered, so she has a nurse with her. Jill, Jeb, and Jay are also standing by to assist us.“Daddy, is it going to take long?” Ysay asks, a hint of impatience in her voice.“It’s alright, baby. Let’s wait a few more minutes,” I reply, putting on my black shades. I cradle Ysay and kiss her on the head.Vanna smiles at us, leaning back in her seat. “They’re here,” Jill says tersely, speaking to others on her radio. Ysay quickly jumps up and nudges Jay and Jeb, pulling them outside to the runway.“Easy, señorita, por favor!” Jeb says, hoisting her up to prevent her from tripping with all her excitement.I also help Vanna stand, and we walk toward the exit together, followed closely by
