Magnus' POV
Upon arriving in Manila, I immediately headed to the Shaw residence. I wanted to talk to Vanna and make sure nothing bad happened to her. I asked Roxane and Alfred to take care of my daughter, I didn't want to add to my worries. I was a bit nervous as I drove up to their open gate.
I walked through their large mansion, looking for Vanna.
I came across an elderly woman. It was her nanny.
"Manang, where is Vanna?""Oh, sir, she's with ma'am Paris. She's staying with them for now."
"Do you know where?"
"Oh, I'm not sure, but you can call her brother Vlad. He's the one who took them."
"Alright, thank you." I quickly left and got into my car. I called Vittos to get Vlad's number.
Vittos left me after the incident, as he had his own business to attend to.
I was in the car with the phone in hand at that moment. It rang and he answered quickly.
"Oh, are you already at the house?" Vittos asked.
"She
Vanna's POV"Shit! Where am I!" I immediately sat up, but I felt dizzy. Seriously! I had no idea where I was.I looked around the room. I can’t tell where I am right now. I saw the ceiling and a wooden post, and it seemed to be raining because I could hear water dripping into a bucket placed beneath it."Oh, you're awake..." I turned to see a man's voice. I was even more shocked when I saw him. This can't be happening. Maybe I'm just imagining things."It's you..." I said in surprise to Allan, my first love. The man I had wronged so much. My parents had him expelled from school, which was why he could no longer continue his studies.I clutched my chest. I’m certain he was the one who helped me back then."Allan..."He smiled and walked closer to me, holding a cup of coffee."I'm glad you remember me," he said as he sat down in front of me. I couldn't speak right away. I seemed to have lost my voice while taking in his signi
Magnus’ POVAfter confronting her, I decided to accept her apology. But my happiness prevailed because nothing happened to her. At that moment, Vanna and I talked outside. Her friends allowed us some time to reflect in the park in Baguio. We visited popular tourist spots first, taking pictures at the lion's head and then at the famous Burnham Park. We spent some time there riding a small boat, with the lake in view. Vanna remained quiet, seemingly deep in thought.I wanted to reach out to her, but I waited for her to open up... "Magnus, I wanted to say something, I hope you'll listen," she began. "I'm listening." "Magnus, I just want to know from you if it's true that... you have a Cartel. Is it true you have a group aside from your businesses? What exactly do you do, Magnus? I have the right to know now, don't I? I am now your wife." Her statement compelled me to gather my strength.I cleared my throat and responded, "Yes, I am. I'm not a businessman; I'm a mafia." I admitted. I noti
Magnus’ POVI didn't expect to find this at that place. I told Roxane we would meet at an elite coffee shop, but I didn't anticipate this situation."Good evening, Daviro." I was taken aback to find Vanna's parents there with Roxane. I felt like I was being set up at that moment."Good evening," I responded, giving Roxane a sharp look. She just smiled back."Your secretary called us; you wanted to talk to us now, without Vanna's presence... quite curious..." said Mr. Shaw, the head of the family."Uh, yes sir, I have something to discuss," I replied, swallowing hard at Roxane's words."Have a seat; you seem a bit out of sorts, son. You're pale..." Mrs. Shaw remarked, eyeing both me and Roxane intently.I sat down and tried to compose myself."Well, I have a proposal regarding Shaw Industry and Daviro Corporation," I detailed my plan, knowing they had wanted to hear my suggestions for our companies to join forces."That's great to hear!" Mr. Shaw said with a smile."Let’s split it half
Vanna's POVI didn't know what to think at that moment; while I was hugging Allan, it felt like I was losing my sanity. The worries in my heart were fading away. I didn’t realize we had been in that position for a long time."Vanna, you're soaked from the rain," I heard him say.He wrapped his arms around my shoulders. "Come on, let's go inside; the rain is getting stronger." He added as he helped me walk. I won’t admit it, but my knees were getting weak. I was grappling with my mixed emotions at that time.Next, I let Allan lead me to his room on the third floor. The hotel wasn’t large; in fact, it felt more like an inn for travelers and vacationers.Once we got into the elevator, I couldn’t stand anymore and collapsed on the floor. Luckily, Allan quickly supported me."Are you okay, Vann?"Even though my vision was blurry, I just nodded. I felt him carry me because of how unwell I was feeling."You&rsq
Magnus' POVWhile I was on the road with Ligaya, she mentioned that she was the daughter of a former detective agent. In fact, they run a business, and her father manages it. She said she was heading to Manila to visit him, so I gathered my courage to ask for help. I need her connections to locate Vanna immediately.I couldn't reach Peruv; he's probably off on his island again, where there's no signal, and if I'm unlucky, he might be busy with work."Sure, I'm totally fine with that, sir. My dad's servicing fee is pretty low," Ligaya smiled as she drove."How much?""Uh, probably around ten kiyaw," she continued."Ten thousand pesos or dollars?""Come on, sir, just pesos...""Alright, I'll pay right away," I said, and she just laughed."Oh, you're really funny, sir. Right away? Maybe we can do it in installments; you might end up broke. I think you need some new clothes," she pointed at my worn-out outfit, which seemed r
Vanna's POVI woke up to the sound of machinery beside me. I was startled to see that many things were attached to my hands, hoses and dextrose. I could see the white blanket covering me, the air was cold from the AC, but the light was filtered, and I was surrounded by curtains. My mind panicked even more when I noticed a red hose flowing toward me. It felt like they were transfusing me. Heck! I was screaming in my mind, but I couldn't move. What was happening?I saw a man sitting nearby, busy filling out forms that looked like billing and medications I needed to take.Even though I wanted to call out to him, I couldn’t do it; I couldn't even open my mouth. I felt numb at that moment, my eyes the only part of me observing what was going on. The last thing I remembered was the event outside Allan's hotel. The raindrops. The umbrella. And my scattered heart that had fallen into pieces at that time.I knew Magnus's secret; he was having an affair with Roxane, and they had been together f
Vanna's POVI have already left the hospital, and we are currently on an island. Before heading to Spain, Magnus and I decided to take a vacation and relax on the island of Cebu. There are many beaches here, and what's even more enjoyable is that there are lots of other vacationers, including newlyweds like us. We didn't bring Ysay along this time; Magnus wanted to have me all to himself at the beach."Where are we going?" I asked Magnus as he pulled my hand in a certain direction. After that incident, here we are, walking quickly along the shore that night. I could barely walk because my heels were sinking into the sand. Until we reached a candlelit restaurant where he secretly took me to relax a bit after the tense events back in Manila."Let's relax here; I need you to relax, my wife," he said to me in that daring voice of his. I couldn't even look away from his masculine figure; my gaze seemed glued to him.He is a living example of Adonis. I didn't even notice we had reached the
Vanna's POVI woke up to the bright sunlight, my body covered with a blanket. Magnus was no longer beside me, so I quickly sat up."Magnus?" I called out to him. I took the robe and used it as I stood up, firmly, even though I still felt pain in my intimate area. Slowly, I walked toward the kitchen. There, I saw him cooking."Good morning," I said, and he immediately smiled and came closer to me."Good morning, my wife. I was trying to surprise you with a morning breakfast, but you woke up earlier than I expected," he kissed my forehead. He was wearing an apron and holding a ladle."What are you cooking?" I asked as I sat at the small table in front of him. That cabin villa was just right for a couple. It had a small kitchen and bathroom, and there was also a veranda that faced the sea. The brightness of the sun was perfectly visible through its large windows."I am cooking egg drop soup with mushrooms, and then fried fish that you can dip in spicy sauce," he said eagerly. I didn't re
