What's the problem with the idea to take off her mask?

She immediately shook her head many times as if she was saying that it should never be removed.

"Woah... It's okay, it's okay. I understand," I answered quickly while raising my two hands as if I was being hold-up.

She looked so serious when she shook her head earlier. I thought there was a big reason why she did not want her bare face to be seen by others.

"You know what?" I looked intently at her face.

I saw her gulp.

"You're weird," I commented and laughed slightly after pointing at the mask she was wearing.

I did understand why she didn't want to remove it but I couldn't help but feel upset.

"Yet mysterious," I added.

It's true. I felt intrigued by what her bare face looked like and I was also kind of confused about this strange feeling that I am currently feeling right now. I couldn't name it. But, there was a sure thing, I felt this kind of feeling when Angela was near me or talking with me.

That's the reason why

Angela's POV When I made sure Clark's car was already gone, I walked quickly heading to our house. Our home was pretty close to where I landed. When I got in front of the door, I immediately took the key and hurriedly went inside. I went to the kitchen to drink water. To this day, the nervousness in my chest still lingered in my entire body. I was shaking while drinking the glass of water and gently laid it on the top of the table right after. I weakly sat down in the chair and combed my hair out of extreme tension. I thought he would know my secret. He was staring at me while we were eating and he even noticed my mask. I was so thankful he didn't insist on removing it on my face because if he does, my secret will be revealed. I finally removed the mask that was covering my face and sighed. "How long, Angela? How long will you be as Magda?" I asked myself while looking at the mask. I could no longer hold back the tears from my eyes. I immediately wiped it on the back of my right

"W-wait..." I interrupted the topic and let go of our hug. "What's wrong with you, Bel? Why are you acting like that all of the sudden?" I asked curiously and laughed. "You look like a mother on how you worried about me," I added and giggled. I was trying to divert the conversation. Hoping she would forget about Clark. "Of course! I'm worried!" she whimpered and scratched her neck. "Besides..." She stopped for a moment and looked straight into my eyes. I suddenly felt nervous because of the way she looked at me. "You're important to me," she added in a serious tone. I was stunned by what I heard and stared into her eyes. "Uhmm..." I whispered. Not knowing what to reply to what she had said. Wait. Do I need to say something? I lowered my gaze and thought deeply then turned my gaze back to her. Later, she suddenly smiled. "Because you're my best friend!!" she shouted exaggeratedly and hugged me tight once again. She even lifted me from the ground and spun me around. I couldn'

"I am in love with someone else,” I answered back. I looked at her, pleading. She didn't utter any word about what she heard. She was silent for a moment. She sipped her black coffee and looked at me again. I knew coffee could calm her nerves. She put down the cup on the table then she spoke. "Who's the lucky rat?" she asked and stared at me intently. I didn't answer. "Ah! I think it's better if I'm going to rephrase it..." she said and sipped again on her cup. "Who's the lucky woman?" "I found her, mom," I answered and smiled like an idiot. "Oh!" she exclaimed. "Can I meet her?" she asked, then continued eating. "We will go there, mom," I said, then drink a glass of water. "On the right time," I added. She just smiled at me and didn't bother to comment. I didn't know if what she heard was okay with her or what. It was also a bit surprising because she didn't force Natasha anymore but I hope she continues like that. "What about dad? How is he?" I diverted the topic by asking

"Bel?" I uttered in shock. I froze. It was Bel... Don't tell me she's Magda— No! Impossible! I shook my head many times because of the thought. No! It can't be her. "Clark?" she whispered. She went out of the gate. "Why are you here?" she asked in surprise and looked left and right; as if scanning the place. Just because my mind was still debating on what I saw, I didn't respond quickly. I was dumbfounded staring at her. "Are you okay?" she asked worriedly and didn't know if she would go to approach me or not but in the end, she didn't. "Are you looking for Angela?" she added and waved her hand in front of me, just to wake me up and get back to my senses. Her eyebrows were raised, a sign that she was impatient waiting for my answer. "Ah... No!" I answered a bit loudly and gulped. It seemed she was confused at my reaction while looking at me. "Okay... Come inside first," she invited and opened the gate widely. I didn't hesitate to go inside her house. "Sit there. I'll just

Angela's POV "Yey! Let's go swimming!" Maymay shouted excitedly here inside the car. I just smiled at the thought that my siblings are happy right now. I turned my gaze to the backseat just to see my sister who was now cuddling with his older brother Kokoy and her Auntie Bel. Maymay took a glance in my direction after she felt I was watching them. She gave me a sweet smile. You could see her innocence and the joy she felt through her eyes. I just nodded at her and smiled back as a response then I shifted my gaze to the man next to me who was just silently driving. I was happy today because he did it to us. I thought he had forgotten what he promised to the children because he hadn't visited us for a few days in our house. But here he is. He picked us up at home together with Bel to fulfill what he promised to my siblings. 'When he promises something, it will come true.' The trip also took more than half an hour before reaching Clark's house which was really big and indeed beauti

Angela’s POV"Do you have anything left?" I asked my siblings who were now fixing their things."Yes, sister!" Maymay responded enthusiastically while clutching her bag on her shoulder. Kokoy, on the other hand, was already done fixing his things."Angela, water?" Bel offered to me which surprised me by her sudden appearance behind me. Looked like she had fixed her things.I nodded to her in response and accepted the glass of water she was offering."Thank you.""Where's Clark?" she asked out of curiosity.I gulped the water inside of my mouth first and handed the glass back to her afterward."He's in his room. Changing his clothes," I answered and sat down on the nearby sofa. Bel quickly followed me and gently put down the glass on the glass table."The kids are having fun here," she suddenly spoke into the air. I looked in her direction and I saw she was smiling as she looked at my siblings who still haven't stopped running here inside Clark's house. Clark's house is spacious so Kok

"Clark, it's okay. I'll take care of it.""Nah! I'm okay, don't mind me. I just want to help you," he protested and smiled tiredly.I took a deep breath at this awkwardness. I had been telling him lately to just sit there on the chair but he didn't want to follow me. Instead, he continued to help me do the laundry; the neighbor's laundry that I accepted to be precise. For more than half an hour he was still fetching water in the well. He was fetching while I was rinsing the clothes. His sweat was dripping from his forehead down to his neck. We were under the heat of the afternoon sun."Clark, sit down under the tree. The sunlight might burn your skin. It's okay to not help—" He cut me off from what I was going to say."Angela..." he uttered weakly. He stopped pumping the well and looked straight into my eyes."I want to help you so please, just let me. All you can do is do your business then, I will do mine. Okay? To make it easier as well. "Are you happy with our date today?" the man who was walking beside me asked. We walked towards my house."Yes. I'm so happy," I whispered, enough for him to hear it. I tightened my hug to the teddy bear that he gave to me earlier. This was the prize he won at the amusement park."I'm happy to hear that."We both stopped walking when we were in front of the door. We looked and stared into each other's eyes.I could see in his eyes that he enjoyed the day with me. I smiled."I'll go inside," I bid goodbye and pointed to the door. He nodded as he stared at me."Be careful when driving," I reminded him. I approached the doorknob and turned it. I was about to open the door when Clark suddenly grabbed my arm. I was startled and I looked at his face."Angela, wait,” he stopped me. I released my grip on the doorknob."Do you forget something—" I was cut off on what I was supposed to say when he grabbed my both shoulders and pulled me closer to him. "A ring?" I uttered in astonishment and disbelief as I examined the ring on the tissue. I took another tissue to wipe it again. I took another tissue and something was written again."You..."I picked up another one but this time, I placed and laid it on the table so I could read it properly."Will you marry me, Angela?"I was stunned and shocked after I read those words. I stared at the ring that I was holding and looked at my siblings and Bel who was now smiling at me so dearly.I sighed and lazily stared at Bel."What is this, Bel? Is this a prank?" I asked in assumption and looked at them boringly."You are fooling me," I concluded. Bel and my siblings just laughed in their seats. "Big sister, come on! Hurry up! We are going to be late if we stay here for more minutes!" Kokoy shouted in a hurry outside my room. I saw Kokoy fully dressed with his basketball jersey while Maymay was sitting on a wooden chair in the living room."Come on, kids. Let’s go," I said. They approached my direction and we left the house together. As I locked the door, I saw Bel waiting for a vehicle that we could take a ride. Moments later, a bus stopped in front of us and we immediately stepped inside. Kokoy and Maymay were very excited to go to school. They both went to the same school.Bel and Maymay ended up sitting on the right side of the bus while Kokoy and I were on the left. After I paid the fare fee, I caught a glimpse of Kokoy who now had a smile on his face but you could see he is undeniably nervous as well.I just tapped his shoulder twice to give him courage. "You're staring blankly in the air again. Back to earth, Angela."I got back to my senses when Bel suddenly appeared right behind me. I laughed and smiled at her."You are missing hi—Ouch! What is that for, Angela?!" she stopped from what she was going to say when I slapped her on her right arm. She immediately touched her arm that I hit and glared at me."I'm staring blankly then you showed up just to piss me off? You're a very supportive friend, Bel," I uttered sarcastically then chuckled. She sat down next to me on the wooden chair here in the backyard of the house."Well, it's true. Truth hurts, right?" she countered while gently caressing her arm.I smiled sadly and looked up at the sky. Every time a plane passes by on the horizon, I always get out of the house just to look at it. Not because I just want to see a plane, but because I think that maybe, on a plane I looked up in the sky, Clark is one of the passengers.Bel seemed to notice the changes in my mood. She sighed heavily.

While I was inside the car, tears continued to fall from my eyes. Every sob was painful. Mrs. Clarkson who was now sitting next to me inside the car glanced in my direction. I heard her sigh because of my behavior."Do not worry. You can forget him soon...""You made the right decision, Angela. Don't cry too much. The sacrifice you made for Clark is for his sake and good condition. You just made the right decision. Maybe Clark will be angry with you first but you know my son. In the long run, he will understand why you chose to free him instead of keeping him with you," she comforted me which made me cry even more.Thinking that Clark would be separated from me, my heart was crushed by the extreme pain.Hopefully, what Clark's mother said will come true. I hope it crossed Clark's mind that my decision is for his best.I glanced outside the window. Buildings and spacious roads turned into narrow streets and close-knit wooden houses after a half-hour of a long ride. I could say we are no

I hurriedly got off the bus when it stopped near where Clark lived.I walked quickly under the sun. When I was in front of Clark's mansion, I took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell.Just a few seconds later, the huge white gate opened in front of me. There, it appeared an old woman who I assumed was their housemaid."What do you need, ma'am?" she asked politely while looking at my face.I blinked a couple of times and cleared my throat before answering her."I-Is Mrs. Clarkson there?" I asked the maid anxiously and swallowed hard. The person I was looking for is not an ordinary woman in this society. She was well known for being rich and having businesses across the globe. That woman was Clark's mother who was extremely wealthy. My knees were shaking out of fear and nervousness. Nervous due to the idea that Clark and his mother got into trouble because of me. Getting nervous because I know Clark's mom already knew that I was a prostitute. What kind of face am I going to show to

"Clark..." I whispered as the tupperware fell to the ground. I walked a little bit closer just to make sure that the man who was mixing the cement was Clark."Clark! Hurry up!" the man who I think is the foreman shouted to him.My tears rolled onto my cheeks after I heard what the foreman said. I slowly took a step backward and then ran away. I looked for a bus and went inside. After paying the fair fee, I looked outside the window. My tears started to flow. I wiped it away but it seems it was like a river that never stops falling. Why did he lie to me? In one month? And what is he doing there? Did his mom know already about me? Did his mom know that I am a prostitute? Don't tell me he suffered like that because of me?I broke into tears as I stared outside the window. When I was finally in our village, I got out of the bus and walked straight inside our house. I went to my room and sat on the bed. I slowly hugged my knees as I was thinking about what happened during my one month of me

I slowly opened my eyes when I felt someone caressing my cheek gently. The first thing I saw was the warm smile of the beautiful woman living here on earth. My heart was melting every time Angela showed me this kind of gesture. Even if I only got two hours of sleep, my day got fully energized when I got a glimpse of her in the morning.Come on, Clark. So cliché.I teased at the back of my mind."Get up, my love. You are going to the office," she reminded me and got out of bed.She held my both hands and pulled me just to make me sit on the bed. I laughed when she couldn't pull me. She was using her full force and it was visible on her face she was having a hard time.I laughed again as I pulled her in my direction. She fell on top of me. She got frozen when our faces were just a few inches away

"It is so refreshing to see you here in my office. The day I became a shareholder in your company, you never visited me, Sir Clark," he uttered then chuckled again.I felt embarrassed and angry at the same time. I was now applying to this old man's coffee shop."Actually, I received an email from your mom saying don't bother to accept you if you ever seek a job at our business firm."I gulped and clenched my fist. No wonder how he got that email. My mother knows him well too.Mr. Montenegro stared at me deeply then after, he sighed. He put his both hands on the top of his office table and intertwined them."Are you aware that finding a job in this country is tough for you?" he asked.I cleared my throat and sat up straight."Yes. I'm aware," I answered and it earned a smirk from him."Your mom is so powerful. It's a wrong move to disobey her.
