I immediately looked away and closed my eyes. I knew if I kept on staring at her, she wouldn't be able to sleep as well and I didn't want that because she needed to sleep. The nightmare has taken a toll on her and she needed proper rest.

I closed my eyes tightly but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't sleep and then, after struggling for fifteen to twenty minutes, I finally looked at her again.

The moment my eyes fell on her, it felt like time had paused. I smiled.

She slept like a baby, scooping closer to me. She had clutched the collar of my t-shirt tightly while sleeping and her head was comfortably placed on my shoulders. Initially, her body was tensed, expressing the discomfort she was in but slowly, she relaxed and I could feel that she went on a deep sleep.

I couldn't move my eyes away from her, her plum lips, soft skin and messy hairs. She looked so beautiful and so innocent. The innocence I wanted in her.
