A Gathering of Dead Men II

~Delmundo

"Mr. Frank, I was not expecting you to join us," Silver said and I could almost detect an angry tinge in his voice. Maybe there was some form of animosities brewing between them.

"Expect the unexpected, sleaze bag," Frank replied in a low gruff voice.

Silver smirked at him. Yep. There was no love lost between them. I tried to figure out what really happened between the two of them but there was no time. I was going to have a one on one chat with Frank.

I noticed that he did not bring his car.

"Wait, did you walk here?" Silver mockingly asked.

"Where are we going, Boss," Frank ignored the question as he inquired from me.

"We, are going to Master Stephan's company to see the board of directors,". Silver proudly answered. "And you are not invited."

I almost laughed out loud. What was this? High school?

"He is coming with us, you are going to lead us with your car to the company," I told Silver who stuttered in a hurt speechless way.

"Very we

    80. A Gathering of Deadmen III. ~Delmundo I and Frank were assailed by curious glares and I could feel Viktor's frustration as he led us to my father's office. I did not doubt that there was something that he did not want me to see or that they were not yet done with going through his office. "Has the office been in any way tampered with?" I asked coldly. "Not at Baron, a search had been conducted but it had not been executed out of respect for you," Victor said. I called bullshit to what he said as I, Frank, and Silver followed him. The only reason that they had not gone through my father's possession was because I was not obedient like the new kid on the block, Dwayne Cage. "We're here," Grumbled, an impatient Viktor. I could even see the urgency in his demeanor. I was happy he was uncomfortable because he had tried to dog-walk me in my father's company. He had made a big mistake when he stupidly assumed me to be weak. He did not know me and I did not blame him. He was abou

    81. A Little Bit Of Freedom. ~Pamela I woke up late in the morning with a slight headache and a rumbling stomach. It was time to admit they I was not a big fan of alcohol. I slowly got up from the bed as I fought against the queasiness that was forming in my insides. I sat still for a while before I stood up. My body craved cold water and Stehphan. I had no idea how I got upstairs but I remembered the dream I had vividly and it involved the man who had captured my body. I slowly stripped before I walked nude into the bathroom. I grabbed my toothbrush and paste and squirted a large amount of toothpaste on my brush. I wanted to get the taste of alcohol from my taste buds. I brushed my teeth, tongue, and gum thoroughly. I rinsed my mouth and the brush before I got into the shower. I eagerly switched on the cold waters and stood still as the natural liquid hit my scalp. The relief was instant and I sighed in contentment. I wanted to spend all day here but I was hungry also. I took

It is just Business~Pamela "What should I expect when we get there?" I asked Stephan who was driving us to his father's company. "They will size you up to see if you are tough or easy," He answered me as he stopped by a red light. "So, if I am tough, everything is fine?" I hopefully asked. Honestly, I had no desire to make enemies if this new job with Stephan was legit. "Not really, you will still be targeted by those who deem you useful, until you are not," He replied. "So if I am weak, I will be picked on and if not I will be used, well I do not see much advantage in what you are telling me Stephan, why bother to go?" I asked already feeling anxiety. "You have to try and navigate through, so you can recognize who is genuine and who is not but remember, do not trust anyone because everyone wants something," He told me. "You sound like you have experienced the office drama," I told him. "I have, and I can say that I find it difficult to sit and listen to bullshit all day, esp

The Delmundo House Incorporated ~Pamela "Let me guess, your Ex works here," I said to him. "Not really, but I am sure she could pop up since her parents work here," He told me. I sighed in frustration. "Can I at least have a picture of her so I can identify her in case she comes for me?" I asked him. He raised his eyebrow in amusement. "You are being dramatic, Pamela, where is the fun in trying to get to know her unprepared?" He asked with a playful wink. I smirked at him. "Stephan, if one of your fantasies is to see me get in a catfight with your Ex, dream on is all I can say to you," I teased him. He chuckled slightly as he sat on the edge of the big wooden table. I was seated on the sectional sofa by the side of the huge office that was close to a shelf full of books. "I am sure that you can take care of yourself when it comes down to that," He said assuredly. I beamed at his weird belief in me. "Would you like a tour of the place?" He asked me as she stood up from the

~ Pamela 84. The Scorned Woman. There was nothing more hurtful than ignoring the feelings of a woman or better yet, dismissing it. Stephan had managed to do both in my presence to his former girlfriend. The silence that followed was long and awkward but Stephan whom I suspected was not bothered by all this spoke out. "Lead the way, Viktor, we have not got all day," Viktor nodded and made for the door. Stephan waited for me to get up and I followed him out of the office. I passed by Lydia and refused to look her in her eyes. I had nothing to say to her but she looked like she had a lot to say to me and I knew that none of them were nice words. I heard her follow us quietly while Viktor rambled on about the foundation of the company and how many billions of tax payers money were illegally used to build it. We entered the elevator and we the ladies entered first before the men followed suit. Lydia who had recovered from her shock and resumed her proud demeanor. "I never thought

~ Pamela 85.The Weight of the Crown. We were back in his huge office and I was not going to to lie that it had not been eye opening. I had seen how power worked in this cooperate world and I was not a fan. Although, it had been entertaining to see Stephan fire some one, it had also been terrifying to think about how the fired men where going to survive given my own sordid background. "Why did you fire the men?" I asked him. "They were not loyal to me or my father's company, and I need to surround myself with people that I can trust," He answered me. It was interesting how he had quickly adapted from a ruthless Mafia lord to a decisive business man who headed a multi-billion dollar company. However, it was true that he was indeed surrounded by enemies but that did not mean that he had no allies. "You know that Lydia is not going to stop coming for you," I told him as he looked around his inherited office. He looked like he was in deep thought. "I should have let her go a long

~Pamela 86. Father Figure "Why are you here, Silver?" Stephan asked, interrupting the shrewd lawyer's thoughts. "There are some business officials that want to meet with you and few contracts to sign, I am here to interpret the clauses so there are no foul plays," Silver said. He adjusted his shirt so that it sat right. For some reason, I still could not get myself to relax around this Lawyer because my instinct kept telling me that he was bad news. Whatever I had seen him do, I was sure that I would remember just in time. "Congratulations on your new position, boss, I have the utmost confidence in you to do a good job," Silver complimented. Again, I detected no genuine vibe that he was happy for Stephan. If anything then my suspicions of him only kept escalating."Drop the contracts with Pamela and give her the names of the officials I am going to meet," Stephan, to my relief firmly ordered Silver, who glared at me with disdain. "Boss, I have reviewed the contracts and all it

    87. Love or Acceptance. ~DelmundoI had no desire to leave this aquarium but whether I wanted to or not, duty called. It was so tranquil just sitting down to watch animals swim about without a care for what was going on with the surface world. In a way, I envied those fishes because all they had to do was eat or be eaten. Here I was trying to take the helm of power father had left behind. I was going to have to meet people I had no interest in meeting and kiss ass. At least I had Pamela by my side. She made everything bearable when she was with me. I was going to bring her to the public unveiling of my swearing-in as the new chief executive officer of The Sisyphus House. Anton Shane, whom I was reluctant to come to see had forgiven me for my past transgressions. I had ghosted him a long time ago due to how close he was with my father. They had been best of friends since they were kids. While my father had gone on to marry my mom and had me in return, Anton had neither married no

~PamelaI joined Georgia and the ravens in the house as the last line of defense in case the men outside fail to repel Dwayne's men. I endured many minutes of gun shots and death cries. The door was being hit with bullets but it did not penetrate through the door.I realized in terror they Stephan was out there among those flying bullet. It took all the will in my body not to run outside to Stephan. More gun shots and shouting took place outside while I stayed inside almost losing my mind at the thought of Stephan dying."We should be out there, helping," Minerva grumbled "Yet we are in here shaking in our boots, while the men have all the fun," She complained.I did not want to agree with her but she was right. However, Georgia shut her down."This is not battle of the sexes, Minerva, we all have a roll to play here and we will," She said in a stern voice.Minerva did not have any time to reply before a deafening and earth shattering explosion rocked everyone to the ground. ~DelmundoThis was the first time I would spill blood for someone whom I loved. The was the first time that I fought for someone instead of something. This was the first time I was fighting for a cause. For legacy, for brotherhood, for family, and as hard as it was to believe, love.I, Frank, Georgia and Pamela sat in the dining room hatching our own plan of action. Minerva had bad new."They outnumber us three to two," She said in a serious tone."What does that mean?" Pamela asked with an innocent demeanor.I stifled a laugh. "Means they outnumber us a hundred times our two hundred men in the area," Frank said."But we still have the advantage though, we know he is coming," I said."There is a way to give us a fair advantage but it will mean that one person is not joining the fight," I said."And who is that going to be?" Minerva asked, looking ready to protest if it was her."Frank, it's going to have to be you," I said."And what will I be doing, Boss, if I am not out there rippin

~DelmundoI could not bear to watch her go.I could not witness anyone leaving me again. I had sat on the sofa watching the bed that Pamela used to sleep in. A concerned Georgia, every chance she got, would come and check up on me.I could not blame her for doing so, after the whole thing with the pistol. She was checking to see if I did not have any suicidal urge which I assured her that I didn't. However, she had insisted on checking and I agreed to keep her mind at rest.It was going to be hell trying to live my life without Pamela, but I had been through one before. It was going to be a long road to healing from this pain I was feeling. I had begged frank to help me see her home safely. I was afraid that I would develop difficulties when it was actually time to free her.The next best thing that gave me some modicum of sanity was this room. Her scent was everywhere in the room and it felt like she marked her territory before she left. I took in her odors and aura as I sat. Even th

PamelaI left Delmundo mansion that day. I did not know how he did it but a loading truck had pulled up in front of the house. Men in moving uniform were taking my belongings into the truck and I was downstairs in the living room with Georgia. She looked sad to see me go but believed that the right thing was happening. It was better for everyone this way. Stephan was nowhere to be found but I knew that her could not bear to see me leave him again for the second time. The moving men were already done so I gave Georgia a long overdue hug."I do not know how to thank you enough, please do no miss me too much," I said to her as tears threatened to fall from my eyes."Take good care of yourself, Pamela and do not forget me too quickly," She said. I nodded and let her go. I turned to the entrance and found Minerva waiting and looking a little bit downcast."Hey, I do not like you much but still, it sucks to see you go," She said and gave me a hard pat on the back."Thank you?" I said. Miner

PamelaHe got me a new phone and told me that I could call whoever I wanted. There were no restrictions. That gesture was the most tempting of his offers but I was not going to give in. He knew that I was itching to talk to people and by people, I meant my friend Tiana. It would be an opening for him to dominate me and it will start that rollercoaster of a toxic love. A hot, sensual, debauched and addictive toxic love. I hated him so much and I loved him as deeply as well.It had been a painful revelation to me when Stephan told me what Dwayne did. I knew that I was a chess piece in his bloody game of war but to go to that extent. I tried to imagine the emotional pain Stephan had gone through just seeing that dress. When he told me, I ran upstairs and cried into my pillow. Stephan had said it to get a reaction but he would not see me break. He said it to hurt me. That had always been that problem. PamelaAs the days under his tyranny grew longer, I grew colder toward him.I had lived with two different types of men and I could tell the stark difference. Dwayne had been patient even though I was not into him that way.Stephan was suffocating and always hovering around. He had taught me something unknowingly and that was to always observe people. Now the more I looked at him, in silent observation and dull eyes, the more I saw him. These past few days had been very difficult to be around him. All those times when he had been forcing me to speak to me, caressing, cajoling, coaxing, begging. I had wanted to give in. For a Mafia lord, he was very good with words. The way he begged me was alluring and tempting."Let me into your high tower, Pamela, it's cold outside," He had once rumbled in my ear. I was not prepared for it. It had taken place in the bathroom. He said while our bodies touched. Then, I had almost succumbed to his hypnotic words but I managed to snap out of it.I wante

~DelmundoIt became an unhealthy habit to orbit around Pamela. The things that I bought her were ignored and abandoned in the corner of the room. Georgia helped me rouse her from bed today again because she just laid still and stared at nothing. It became an unwanted routine. I will try to break the ice and she would in return give me the cold shoulder. Truth be told, I was running out of options and I could not think of a new way to get through to her. Eat, sleep, and bathe. That was all she did.She talked to Georgia but she would not speak to me and as ridiculous as it sounded, it made me so jealous to see Pamela open up to her and not me. Today like yesterday, she was still on the bed and silently so. I sought out Georgia again for a new set of advice. This time I found her in the kitchen making hot soup that had a chicken-flavored aroma. It was midday and I had just given Frank the usual order to be on the lookout for anything suspicious. I had no doubt Cage was on the move. I co

DelmundoI left her room confused and concerned.QIt was going to be tough not to hear her voice again but it was more than not talking. She showed no interest about leaving the room or getting off the bed. Since I was not getting through to her, I decided that a couple of gifts could change her mood. There was just one problem, I had no idea what could cheer her up so I did the next best thing, something I never thought that I would ever do in a long time. I sought out Georgia at the garden in the back yard. She was tending to the koi fishes in the pond. She had a forlorn expression on her face as she went about her work. Something was up with Georgia too. I could never understand how emotions applied to women, they were always a big mystery to me."What seems to be the problem, master Stephan? You have been standing there for a while," Georgia said as she threw crumbs of feed into the pond. I saw the colorful fishes flutter about to eat the crumbs."I need your help, Georgia," I tol

DelmundoGetting her back into my life did not feel as good as I thought it would be. The victory felt more like a loss to me. Although I had her back, I felt like I had lost something in return. I did not want to admit but it scared me when I saw the light dim in her usually bright eyes.It terrified me because, I was responsible for what she was going through. When I had taken her back from Dwayne's territory, she had passed out from the shock, pain and stress. She was out unconscious until night fall. I might have struck her too hard but not enough to leave a mark or bruise.I knew that she was going through some form of headache but was just proving tough. I hovered by her room listening for any sounds to see if whether she was sleeping or awake but I heard nothing. Her behavior had me worried. I was too pumped up to sleep so I stayed awake all through the night.I paced back and forth the hall till I could not take it anymore. I was curious about what she was up to so I gently pu
