Scarlett stops the car in front of the office complex. She heads into the premises and goes straight to the fifth floor. Stopping in front of one of the private offices, she knocks on the door.

“Come in,” a waspy voice comes from within. She enters the office to find a man in his sixties, poring over a bunch of documents. His gray eyes looked up and he smiled at her.

“Miss D’arcy!” He greets. “Or rather, I should address you as Mrs. Rochester.”

“Hello Jeffrey,” Scarlett greets him back and sits on a chair opposite to him. “I'm sorry for the short notice.”

“That’s okay. I’m free right now.”

Jeffrey was James Swanson’s lawyer and friend. As a freelance lawyer, Jeffrey handles many high profile clients and is one of the best in his fields.
