The Fight

Over the next few days, their plans move in quick motion. Scarlett starts to put on heavier makeup in an attempt to hide her ‘scars’ and deliberately crosses paths with Hector on her way to work. Hector notices her behavior and tries to talk to her at every opportunity. Scarlett is still hesitant of him and plays her cards to pretend as a weak woman.

One day, Hector corners her in a meeting room after he caught her crying.

“He’s hurting you!” Hector exclaims when he sees the finger prints on Scarlett’s arm. “That’s insane! You’ve got to leave him. This one year-”

“He won’t let me go!” Scarlett cries. “He’s too persistent. Ryder won’t leave me and I’m powerless!”

She only cries harder which makes Hector uneasy. Seeing her like this is making him angry. His phone buzzes at that moment. It’s Elle.

Hector ignores the call and focuses on Scarlett. He hugs her, not noticing that she’s squirming.

“Honey, I’m gonna get you out of this mess,” he says. “Just give me a few more days.”
