01: The Usual Routine

Verosha’s Mansion

5:30 am

As another day woke up a single lady from her comfortable bed due to her alarm, she took some time rolling around her bed before checking her phone. She looked over her morning schedule which she was about to deal with later then went out of her bedroom. She went to her indoor gym inside her mansion to do her morning routine; workout.

‘Lady Verosha, your breakfast is prepared.’

“Oh, thank you, Ms. Choi for preparing it. I’m heading there after my bath.” The lady named Verosha answered the intercom that was echoing around her gym.

‘Sure, milady.’

“Also, tell my driver to prepare my midnight blue Maserati.” She added before the intercom ended after her head maid responded to her request.

Just a few more minutes of workout, she looks over her digital clock on the gym wall. She sighed before she finished her cooldowns. When she was fully done with her morning routine in the gym, she upstairs to take a cool shower. 

Verosha Mondre was a beautiful and well-fit lady in her 35 with long dark wavy hair that reach above her chest but sometimes she tied them up in a high ponytail. It was showcasing her strong jawline making her more dominating whenever she was in her business suit. Her fair skin was also well taken care of that making it soft and smooth like babies but nobody could ever feel them. She doesn’t let anyone get close to her aside from shaking hands or doing high-fives with her friends. Other than that, she was cold to the rest. She has to because she was the CEO of her own two well-known companies which made her a tycoon billionaire.

“Hm…I think this is enough. They already feared me anyway. No need to add more fuel over it.” Verosha said to herself as soon as she looked at herself over her full-sized mirror inside her walk-in closet within her master bathroom suite.

Verosha’s business suit for the day looks smart enough to make everyone just follow a look when she passes by. She was just wearing her midnight blue blazer that has her unique lily flower lapel pinned on its collar and skirt with a unique vine design. For her inner were a pastel blue long-sleeve blouse and her footwear was a pair of black one-in-a-half-inch heels.  She even leave her hair down since it was still not fully dry and it was making her more intimidating when she does that.

“Now, I’m all set. Let’s eat.” Verosha flashed her smirk against the mirror before she left the room with her pouch.

Nothing happened much around the kitchen since she was always eating alone because her maids only appeared around the house when they were summoned or just doing their assigned jobs. But whenever she was around, they were rarely seen around.

Car Ride

“Andy, when is your wedding?” Verosha might be busy with her phone when she asked her driver while they were on their way to her company.

“This coming Sunday, Milady.” Andy, her driver replied while he glance from the rear mirror.

“Then why you’re still driving for me? Shouldn’t you be preparing for it?” she asked but still focused on her phone before reading a file from her pouch.

“It's already prepared, milady and I don’t want to be kicked from my job. I love this job, milady.” Andy chuckled which made Verosha slightly do the same thing but immediately went cold again.

“I know you do and don’t worry I’m kicking you out. I just want you to be there for your wife since it's your big day.” Verosha cleared what she was trying to say to her driver.

“Thanks for the sincere concern, milady but my wife insisted to earn more and just rest on Saturday and on our honeymoon vacation.” Andy thanked her but still explained the real reason why he was not on the leave.

“That’ll be tiring.” She just said while reading the file and what was on her phone.

“Nothing is tiring when you love truly something or someone.” Andy smiled and Verosha understood what he was telling her.

“I know. So, you’ll be on a week of vacation right?” Verosha wondered.

“Yes, milady. Anything you need before then, milady?” he asked since there was something that Verosha was thinking about as soon as she put down her file back in her bag and the phone back into her blazer’s pocket.

“Nothing, I’ll just look for someone to drive me while you’re on your honeymoon.” She informed her driver about what was bothering her.

“I’ll contact someone I’m friends with at the local bar not far from your hotel, milady. He’s still young though, but he’s a hardworking fellow.” He nodded and suggested somebody to his lady boss.

“Hmm, intriguing about the hardworking part.” She said while she glance out of the window while they were still on the road toward her company. There’s no traffic jam at least.

“He’s a barista and musician at the same bar, milady. I also heard from him that he was still looking for another part-time job because he was helping his father to pay a very huge debt.” Andy informed his lady boss what he knew about his friend at the local bar.

“Poor him. How old he is?” she commented but wondered about the age of the man that Andy was talking about.

“29, I think.” Andy answered unsurely.

“Okay, offer him your job. I’ll help him with his debt.” Verosha nodded and let her drive offered his position till he comes back from his honeymoon.

“Thank you, milady.” Andy thanked her.

“Don’t worry about it. You sounded like a father to him when you speak about him.” Verosha smiled genuinely at her driver.

“Well, he reminded me of my dead brother. They were the same hardworking and pain in the ass.” Andy honestly informed his first impression of his friend for his lady boss’ knowledge.

“Oh, that’ll be interesting.” She said when she heard her phone notification.

“Indeed, now I am thinking if he could manage to make you laugh.” Andy was smirking when he said.

“I can laugh, Andy.” Verosha rolled her eyes at that comment while reading the notification that she just received.

“I know but only a few saw them. I bet somebody will melt that coldness around you, milady.” Andy shrugged his shoulder as he slowed down the car to be parked at the front entrance of the VM Jewelry Company that Verosha owns.

“Let’s see about that.” Verosha said as if she was being challenged.

“We’re here, Milady. Good luck on your irritating day.” Andy get off from the car and opened the door for her lady boss.

“Don’t start, Andy.” Verosha sighed when she heard that as soon as she stepped out of the car.

“On your three, milady.” Andy whispered because there was someone who always irritates her working day whenever that person opens their mouth.

VM Jewelry Company

Andy holds his smile and just keeps it since she doesn’t want his lady boss to face her annoyance. As Verosha stepped further toward the entrance of her company, the man that was annoying her day went on calling her but she pretend on doing something on her phone.

“Oh please, not on my morning.” Verosha rolled her eyes as she prayed and went on her way inside the company as she was being guided by ten bodyguards toward her private elevator.

Got into her company's top floor, her office was located. Verosha entered after being greeted by her secretary and entered the room. She immediately pulled out the file from her bag before handing it to the rack where she also put her blazer on. Then she went to her table tossing the file on the desk before pressing her intercom that connected to her secretary’s table.

“Morning, Althea.” Verosha began operating her computer while she check the files that were arranged on her desk.

‘Morning, boss, what can I do for you?’

“I just wanted to check if you got the notification from our sister company the Lycross Jewelry?” Verosha asked since it notified her about a meeting regarding the designs and materials needed for their next jewelry holiday project.

‘Yes, boss. I already emailed them and made some calls to clarify their notification.’

“Okay, just informed me as soon as you get their feedback from their sudden notification.” She nodded and make a note to be answered later.

‘Yes, boss.’

“Oh, before I forgot don’t let anyone brag inside my room especially when it was him.” Verosha recalled the man who she doesn’t want to meet early in the morning even though he was one of the board of directors of her company.

‘Noted, boss, anything else?’

“My morning black coffee, please, prepare it.” she recalled the coffee breaks that she always takes in the morning.

‘Should I deliver it at the same morning coffee break, boss?’

“Yes, please.” Verosha answered.

‘Okay, milady.’

“Thank you and congrats on your wedding this coming Sunday.” She almost greets Althea at her wedding with Andy.

‘Thank you, boss. I appreciate it as well the honeymoon tickets you accommodate for us.’

“It's my wedding gift since I could come because I don’t want to be the center of attraction on your wedding day. It better to keep the paparazzi out of it.” She slightly chuckled while reading the emails that she received from her overseas transaction.

‘I understand, boss. Still thank you.’

“Okay, let’s go back to work.” Verosha said and with a simple response from Althea, they both went back to their usual busy morning routine around the company.
