☩═✦═☩

The front door slammed behind him, the sound echoing in the silence of the room. My whole body flinched, and I gripped the sheets tighter, holding onto them like they were the only thing that was real around me.

My chest felt hollow, like he’d ripped something out of me on his way out. And no, it wasn’t the physical part...I could live with that. It was the words he’d left behind, cutting me open and leaving me bleeding in ways I couldn’t see.

I still smelled like him—whiskey and his cologne. I let out a shaky breath, but it felt like it wasn’t enough, like I couldn’t get enough air.

He was gone.

My throat burned. I thought I was done crying, but the tears were there again, stinging my eyes.

I looked around the room—his room. The bed was a mess, the black sheets wrapped around me. His glass was still on the nightstand, empty now, just like the bottle beside it. The faint morning light from the window stretched across the floor.

I ran a hand through my hair, m

V will never know, understand or feel what those 27 victims went through. Her mom was married and got pregnant from her rapist. Her having A as a bf and playing rape with ghost is just creepy kink. That alone makes all the difference. Also she is an agent, that surely will affect her take on things.

Viviane ☩═✦═☩ We stood outside the courthouse, my FBI badge clipped to my belt. I forced myself to appear calm. The world was watching, even if I couldn’t see the cameras. Logan stood beside me. The faint smell of coffee clinging to him like always. “Viv,” Logan said softly, leaning closer so only I could hear. “We’re going to find her. You know that, right?” “I know,” I replied. “You’re not alone in this. We’ve got everyone on it, Viv. We’ll get her back.” I nodded stiffly, though I avoided looking at him. He meant well, but his words scraped against the rawness inside me. If only he knew. I didn’t need them to find Felicity, I’d made sure she was out of their reach. I needed them to believe me. And if I cracked, even for a second, it would all come crashing down. The faint rumble of engines pulled my attention, and Logan turned his head, squinting down the street. A line of sleek black SUVs rolled up, gleaming under the harsh midday sun. “Costello,” Logan muttered, his

Viviane ☩═✦═☩ I leaned against the edge of the cot, hands gripping the fraying blanket as if holding on to something real could keep me from losing it completely. The old clock on the wall ticked louder with every second. My window...always locked, always barred reflected back the worst version of myself. Midnight was close. Two more minutes, tops. I knew all the guards, their routines: the same steps, same timing, the same coffee break that would leave my hall unguarded for exactly seven minutes. Seven minutes to slip out. Slipping out during the evening, when agents moved freely, was manageable but once night fell, the security tightened considerably. I grabbed my hoodie from the chair, tugging it on and flipping the hood up. I glanced at myself in the mirror and only saw tired eyes, tight jaw, mouth pressed into a line. I carefully arranged the blankets on my bed, pillows propped just right to mimic a sleeping body. My phone stayed on the bedside table, screen dark but pr

Viviane ☩═✦═☩ Viviane stood in the corner of the FBI breakroom, clutching a folder close to her chest. The news still buzzed in her veins. The Costello case. She’d been handpicked to assist. It was the kind of opportunity rookies could only dream of. Her cheeks ached from holding back a smile, but this wasn’t just personal excitement; it was validation. The kind of validation she’d never been given before. Logan was across the room, leaning back in his chair, his arm draped lazily over the backrest, laughing too loud at a joke one of his buddies had told. He was the golden boy of the bureau, always surrounded by a pack of equally smug agents and he’d set his sights on Viviane the moment she walked through the door. At first, it seemed harmless, his charming smiles, the way he stayed near her desk. Viviane had brushed it off as standard office flirtation, nothing she couldn’t handle. But Logan Barlowe had a way of making himself unavoidable. He’d always be there, offering

Viviane ☩═✦═☩ I dragged my gaze across the room, meeting each of their stares one by one. Every single one of them looked like they were debating the best way to get rid of me. Prolonged torture? A quick bullet to the head? The way Lorenzo’s fingers twitched against his thigh, I’d bet he was leaning toward something messier. Nikolai broke the silence, "Talk." It was an order that got on my nerves and for a split second, the idea of walking out crossed my mind. Turning my back on these people and never looking over my shoulder again but I wasn’t that naive. So I straightened up, “You know,” I started, “I half expected a thank you for saving all of your asses.” I tilted my head, “But then again, I know gratitude isn’t exactly your strong suit.” Scott’s lips twitched like he wanted to say something, but even that felt dangerous. Lorenzo’s glare darkened, his jaw ticking like he was ready to lunge at me. Nikolai just kept watching. "Speak fast," Marco snapped, "

Viviane ☩═✦═☩ No one spoke, but I could feel their anger, their doubt, their fear, all of it swirling together. They weren’t just suspicious of me anymore. They were starting to understand. I didn’t have time to waste. I pulled out my phone, unlocking it with a few swipes, and slid it across the table toward Nikolai. “Here. See for yourself.” He hesitated, his piercing blue eyes narrowing as if the device was something that would ruin him of he touched it. Slowly, he picked it up, scrolling through the photos and documents I’d taken from the FBI records room. Screenshots of classified files, pictures of handwritten notes, meeting logs, operational blueprints, it was all there. The others shifted uncomfortably, their eyes flickering between him and the screen, trying to gauge his reaction. Scott finally snapped, pushing back his chair and striding over to Nikolai. He leaned in, his jaw tight as he scanned the evidence, his eyes flicking between the screen and Nikolai like he w

Alessandro ☩══♛══☩ Nikolai was calm today, like a man who already knew the end of the story and was just here to watch it play out. My attention snapped to the front of the courtroom the second she walked in and approached the stand. She raised her hand to take the oath, and I felt everything catch in my chest. The words were routine, the same for every witness, but hearing them from her, seeing her there... it hit differently. Nikolai glanced at me, like he knew something I didn't but I ignored him, my focus locked on her as the questioning began. Viviane Kane was on the stand, and I was in hell. She sat there, like none of this was a big deal, like she wasn’t sitting at the center of the storm she created. That fiery red hair of hers was slicked back into one of those tight buns. That grey pantsuit was just another lie. It made her look like she had her shit together, like she wasn’t the same woman who’d been crying in my bed a few nights ago, clutching me like I was her

Viviane ☩═✦═☩ “What the fuck is she doing here?” Alessandro barked, his finger stabbing the air in my direction, though his eyes stayed locked on Nikolai. Nikolai shot me a brief look before turning back to him. “This is what I wanted to talk to you about.” I stayed by the door, forcing myself to stay calm as every memory of him came rushing back, hot and biting, like a wound torn open too soon. Ghost. “Talk about what?” Alessandro’s voice dropped an octave. Nikolai hesitated, and that was a first. He glanced between us before sighing. “She works for me now.” Alessandro laughed incredulously. “You’ve got to be kidding me. What the fuck does that mean, Niko?” I’d had enough. My patience had already been stretched thin, and I wasn’t about to let him bulldoze me again. Stepping forward, I slapped a file onto the table in front of Nikolai, the sound echoing through the room. “It means exactly what he said,” I cut in, turning to face Alessandro, “I work for Nikolai Costell

Alessandro ☩══♛══☩ I ignored Viviane like my goddamn life depended on it, like she didn’t exist, and she returned the favor like a pro. Every other day, she showed up with something new to hand over, evidence, a strategy, or another clever way to make the FBI and the Cartel bleed. And every single time, Nikolai gave her just one name of a cartel member, leading her back to the bastards responsible for her sister’s death. It was a deal between them, a trade of trust. She didn’t hang around my family like someone looking for forgiveness. No, Viviane Kane walked in like she’d already claimed it. She was making herself indispensable, carving her space back into our world. Sometimes, I’d catch her on the couch with the girls, sharing a drink, laughing at one of their jokes, her guard down just enough to make her seem human again. Other times, she’d be in the corner with Nikolai and the other men, throwing back sarcastic words like they’d been friends for years. It fucked with

Viviane☩═✦═☩I stood in front of the mirror, staring at the stranger looking back at me. Dark circles clung under my eyes. My lips were cracked. There was dried blood at my temple, a bruise blooming beneath it. I barely recognized myself. I didn’t know how long I walked or how many miles passed beneath my feet before I ended up here—some tiny bed-and-breakfast in the middle of nowhere. The owner didn’t ask questions, didn’t pry, just handed me a key and a warm plate of food like she knew I needed both more than air. She even gave me clothes. They were too big, hanging loose on my frame, but I didn’t care. It didn’t matter. Nothing mattered. I dropped onto the bed, my limbs aching, my body screaming for rest. But the second I closed my eyes, they were there. Their faces. Their eyes. Their blood. I sucked in a breath and forced them away. I did what I had to do. I avenged my sister. My brother-in-law. I ended the men who took everything from me. From Felicity. And yet, I

Alessandro ☩══♛══☩Scott leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. “So, they never left?” Nikolai shook his head once. “No. They just ‘forgot’ to check their phones.” Lorenzo exhaled sharply, rubbing a hand over his jaw. “They did it on purpose. Because of what was said at the table.” I stayed quiet, fingers drumming against my knee. That wasn’t surprising. If anything, it was expected. The women weren’t the type to sit still when something unsettled them. Nikolai turned his gaze to me. “Speaking of dinner conversation... how’s she doing?” My spine straightened. I already knew who he meant. I pushed up from my chair. “I’ll check.” The office door shut behind me as I stepped into the hallway. There was a weight pressing against my ribs, a feeling I didn’t like acknowledging. The metallic stench of blood hit me first. I stepped into the room, and stepped onto the blood spread across the ground. The carnage was absolutely beautiful. Eight men, all of them dead. Their thro

Francesca sat in the chair, trembling, her hands clutching the fabric of her skirt. Her tear-streaked face darted between the women surrounding her, searching for sympathy.but she found none. Evangeline adjusted the tripod, the camera framed Francesca perfectly. Allegra crossed her arms, “You know, Francesca, the thing about the truth is, it always comes out. Whether you say it yourself or someone else drags it out of you, that’s up to you.” Francesca sniffled, dabbing her face with a trembling hand. “I don’t know what you think I’ve done,” she stammered, her voice uneven. “Oh, we’re way past thinking,” Delilah snapped, stepping closer. Her heels clicked sharply against the floor, “We know exactly what you did. To Alessandro.” Camilla stood at the back of the room. Her eyes bore into Francesca, filled with years of pent-up rage and sorrow. She didn’t say a word, she just looked at that woman with a new kind of hatred. Francesca’s eyes darted nervously from one face to the nex

Viviane☩═✦═☩The moment I stepped outside, I stopped dead in my tracks. They were all there, standing in a tight circle. Each one of them towered over six-foot-three, dressed in black suits that barely hid the tattoos snaking up their necks and wrists. And knowing them, each probably had at least five knives or guns hidden somewhere under all that tailored fabric. Hell, probably even brass knuckles tucked away for good measure. While I was unarmed...I had nothing. Just the clothes on my back and whatever shred of confidence I could scrape together. My stomach twisted, the instinct to turn and run hammering in my chest. I pulled my shoulders back, forcing my spine straight, and took one step after another down the stairs. The sound of a black SUV pulling up caught their attention. They moved as one, parting without a word, clearing a path for me straight to the car. My throat felt dry as sandpaper as I swallowed hard and walked forward. Nikolai stepped to the side and opened t

Viviane☩═✦═☩“Alessandro,” Evangeline began casually, twirling her wine glass by the stem, “I’ve been thinking about what you said in Nikolai’s office the other day.”I didn’t even realize my hand had tightened around my fork until I heard the faint scrape against the plate. My eyes flicked to her briefly, then instinctively to Alessandro, who sat across the table. He frowned at her, “What about it?” Evangeline tilted her head slightly. She lazily moved her fork through the air, like she was painting an invisible picture. “Oh, nothing really. It’s just something you said stuck with me,” she sipped her wine slowly, “That little comment you made about how ‘boys don’t get abused,’” she said, mimicking his words, her voice lilting mockingly. “And then you added, what was it?” she snapped her fingers, “Ah, right, ‘boys enjoy it.’”I froze in place, unable to bring the fork to my mouth. Did she really just say that? Here? Like this? My eyes went to Francesca sitting at the far end and she

Viviane☩═✦═☩In the mirror’s reflection, I saw him. I spun around immediately, my heartbeat went haywire. Without thinking, I moved to push past him, my shoulder brushing against his arm as I headed for the door. His hand shot out, gripping my waist that stopped me in my tracks. Before I could react, he pulled me back, positioning himself in front of me. I shoved his hand off with more force than necessary and tried again to move past him. But he was faster. Both of his hands found my waist this time, locking me in place. And then he lifted me off the ground like I weighed nothing and set me on the sink counter. My hands shot out to push him away, I opened my mouth, ready to tell him exactly where he could go, but his finger pressed against my lips. “Shhh, just shhh...” his gaze said, though his lips didn’t move. My chest heaved as anger burned through me. My lips pressed into a tight line as I glared at his face, but his focus wasn’t on my face. His eyes had already dro

Viviane ☩═✦═☩ Stella’s favorite pink gown. I stared at my reflection in the mirror. The silk clung to me in all the ways it used to cling to her like it was made for her and no one else. My hands trembled as they smoothed over the fabric, my fingertips skimming the delicate spaghetti straps, the soft sheen of the silk, the open back that dipped low. It felt wrong and right all at once, wearing this. Like I was trespassing into a memory that didn’t belong to me but still clung to me like a second skin. My vision blurred, and I had to blink hard to clear the moisture pooling in my eyes. She lent it to me. I remember the way she smiled as she handed it over, the way she laughed and said, “You’ll look better in it than I ever could.” She was lying, of course. Stella lit up every room she walked into, and in this dress, she looked like a star. She lent it to me but I never got the chance to wear it. And I never got the chance to give it back. My chest tightened as I wrapped

Viviane ☩═✦═☩ Numbness. It wasn’t just a feeling, it was the absence of it, a void where something should have been. Like standing in the middle of a fire and not feeling the heat. It was the cruelest kind of punishment because it wasn’t pain—it was the loss of even that. I looked at him, the man I would’ve given everything for, the man I still would and felt the kind of emptiness that comes from feeling too much for too long. I loved him. I loved him so much it hurt. But that love had hollowed me out, until all that was left was this ache I couldn’t get rid of. It wasn’t that I stopped caring, I couldn’t even if I tried. He was still the one I’d die for, still the one I’d burn my entire world down for. But when I looked at him now, there was this cold, cruel distance between us, and I didn’t know if it was his fault or mine. I wanted to scream at him, shake him, make him see what he was doing to me. But instead, I just sat there, silent, staring at the man who still owned ev

Alessandro ☩══♛══☩ “Why are you doing this?” I asked, my voice was barely audible. She leaned in, her forehead pressed against mine, “Why?” she repeated, “Well... because you did it to me. You took everything I hated about myself and made me live in it, drown in it. And now?” her hands slid up to cup my face, her lips just brushing my ear as she hissed, “It’s your turn.” I clenched my teeth, fighting the instinct to lash out at her, to tell her to stop, to end this insanity. But I knew if I said a word, if I gave her even an inch, this madness would spiral out of control. I needed to get it over with once and for all. “You don’t like this, do you?” she murmured, her voice honey-sweet, she took another drag, the ember glowing bright, and then tilted her head, exhaling the smoke directly at my neck. It clung to my skin, suffocating, and I fought the urge to jerk away. I kept my eyes fixed on the wall, refusing to give her the satisfaction of a reaction. Her breath was warm agai
