Kylie's POV
5 Years Later I set my Barrett M82 sniper on the top floor of my hotel room and adjusted it through the window blind. It was aimed at the prime minister, who was having his oath-taking ceremony approximately six blocks across from me. My name is Kylie Candace Kazimir, and I’m an assassin now. No judgment. You would do the same if you were penniless and had a sick daughter to care for. When I accepted the invitation, I had no idea just how much my life would change. Now, three years later, I was the most sought after assassin in the Guild; I was richer than several politicians; and my daughter had finished her last round of treatment with an expensive, rare drug I was able to afford. The only downside was, well, the dead bodies I left in my wake and being too busy with work to spend as much time with my daughter as I would like. "So, Mom, when can I return home? I am done with my treatment, you know. Besides, I miss you," Charmaine whined through my AirPods. "Soon, baby, mummy misses you more. Just give Mummy some time, okay?" I said as I crouched slightly to focus on my target. When Charmaine was diagnosed with leukemia, I sent her away for treatment. Mom and Mika were there to take care of her, but she still missed me like crazy. Now that her treatment is complete, I have no more excuses for why she cannot come back. I want to see my baby. I really do, but I prefer traveling to meet her. I can't allow my family to discover my profession. I mean, what would mom even do if she found out her daughter was a killer? Or Mika? And my baby girl? No, Charmaine can never find out her loving mother is nothing more than a heartless killer who ends lives for money. "Mummy!" Charmaine yelled, bringing my attention back to her. "Baby, mummy is busy with work; let Aunty Mika take care of you." With a tap on my AirPods, I ended the call before Charmaine could say anything. "You know you shouldn’t talk while working, right?" Andre, my annoying partner, asked with a smirk as he rested his back on the wall with a cigarette in his hand. Why Antonio paired me with this idiot, I would never know. "Andre, shut up?" I spat, still concentrating on my target. Andre has been my partner since my induction into the guild, but I got a reputation so fast that I ended up superior to him. Not that it stops Antonio from sending us on missions together. I focused on the direction of the wind, calculating the distance and movement of my target. Once I got my perfect angle, I shot silently at the prime minister and watched as the wind swiftly directed my bullet at my target. I never miss. A smug smile graced my lips as I watched as the prime minister fell to the ground in the middle of his meeting. His blood splashed on his wife's face, as the crowd around him erupted in panicked screams. The only evidence of what I had just done A clean bullet hole in his brain. "I wonder what he did to deserve that," André whistled as he looked through the window and shook his head at the sight. I walked past him and hissed in his ear "You were not trained to be curious about the client." I paused at the room door with my equipment bag slung over my shoulder. “If you’re that concerned, you should get his wife a therapist,” I smirked as I strode out the door straight towards the lift with Andre scurrying after me. Andre and I got to the underground parking lot in record time. We had to be as far away from the scene as possible. I spotted my black car parked exactly where I had left it and a relieved sigh left my lips as we hurried towards it. Then suddenly, a man also walking as fast in the opposite direction brushed my shoulder. I hissed in irritation as my equipment bag slipped from my shoulder to the floor and I bent down to pick it up. Was he blind or what? The urge to turn around and bite off his head welled up in me but I had to maintain a low cover so I just grunted in anger as Andre stopped to see what the commotion was. "Sorry," the man apologized. Surprise racked through me as I raised my head to see who it was. His voice sounded eerily similar to Ryan’s. The man had already entered his car. And as I looked carefully at the windshield before he drove away, anger and rage flooded my whole body until I dug my nails into my palm. It was him. The bastard! He had been with a woman in the car. "Are you okay?" A concerned André asked, I forced a smile on my face and nodded my head. I brushed everything off and took the wheels while Andre took the passenger seat. When we entered my car, we both took our face masks and face caps off. I was so heated, I could scream. How could he convenien tly live his life when Charmaine had almost died? I left more than 50 voicemails that night. He blocked me. “You sure you’re alright?” Andre asked again as he glanced at me nervously. In response, I reached for my car stereo and played "Murder on my mind" on repeat. Andre shuddered but didn’t make a move to question me again. The car slowed as I parked in the front of the headquarters, the parking valet was already waiting and I handed him I my car keys. I stalked into the building, with everyone I passed bowing in respect. I was used to it, yet the treatment was enough to dampen my anger and by the time I was going in the the VIP lift, a small smile had settled on my lips. Yes, I deserve the respect. For the last five years, I had risen the ranks and becomed the highest paid, most sought after and the most skilled assassin in the industry. I also recieved preferential treatment because I was the manager of the hotel, the Assassin’s Guild used as it’s headquaters. As soon as the lift stopped, a permanent smirk graced my lips as I adopted my second persona and barged into Antonio's office without knocking. I swaggered in, dropped into the chair opposite him and crossed my legs in a fluid movement. "Where are your manners?" Antonio hissed angrily as he rised his head up from his desk. I picked at my perfectly manicured finger nails leisurely. Antonio might have been my boss and ensured my family's safety, but I still hated him too much for turning me into this monster. "I lost mine the very day I accepted to work here," I snickered. Antonio ignored my remark and stood up from his chair to put on the TV. "Your work.” He said as he pointed at the news on TV about the prime minister’s death. You did a neat job, the client was impressed, and she sent a bonus." Antonio clapped his hands greedily. I looked at the TV for a brief second before turning my head away. "I have always done a neat job," I said smugly. "The client is a she." I nodded my head and scoffed. The assassin's industry is a tricky place; the clients think they are completely anonymous, but just one phone call shows everything about them, and only the higher ups such as Alexis, have such information. Alexis is our boss; she is our superior, the co-founder of this organization, and the one who gives us the task. She built this hotel, along with a luxurious shopping mall, to disguise our secret organization of assassins. "Do you remember what you asked from me the day you decided to work for me?" Antonio sat back on his chair. "I remember vividly well; what about it?" I responded, and he nodded his head. After I accepted to work for Antonio, I asked for two favors. One, that I would like to kill Ryan with my own hands. Because if he had picked up my call on that day, I wouldn't be here. The second favor was something I had never asked for. A blank. Kind of like a blank check but a favor, that could be anything and could be cashed at any time. "Your family wants to return." Antonio opened his desk drawer and handed me some pictures. I took the pictures and stared at them carefully. Tears threatened to fall from my eyes as I used my fingers to trace the pictures. Every week, Antonio gave me pictures of my family's weekly report. "No, keep them there; I don't want them back yet." I put the pictures inside my bag. "Ok, I will try my best to do that. By the way, the boss wants to see you." Antonio stood up from his chair and put on his suit blazer. Not everyone can meet the boss directly; you have to be at a certain stage to meet her, and right now my success has brought me to that stage. "I just finished one task; do I have another or do I get to rest?" I whined. Antonio decided to ignore me and walk out of the door. With an exaggerated sigh, I followed behind quietly. We went to the boss's office. Antonio knocked before we both entered. We bowed our heads slightly and awaited Alexis' gesture for us to sit down without raising her head from her phone. "I sent you two bonuses for a job well done again," Alexis said, raising her head from her phone. "Thank you, boss," both Antonio and I said in unison. "Kylie, you have a very important job to do." Alexis handed me a file. I dropped my phone on the table and took the file from her. "Okay, let's see who this is," The smile on my face began to fade the moment my eyes saw the person's profile picture at the front of the file. "You are to eliminate the person on the file." Alexis relaxed her back on her massage chair with her eyes watching my reaction while Antonio took the file from my hand to see who the target was. No. No! She can’t be serious. This must be some kind of cruel joke. A tortured laugh of disbelief escaped my lips as I flung the cursed file back on the table. Damn Alexis, there's no fucking way! "HELL NO, IT'S A BLOODY NO!" I yelled in shock and rising anger. Thanks for getting to the third chapter ❤️ Don't forget to drop a review
Kylie's POV "No, No, it's a big No," there was no way I was going to touch a single hair on his body. The one name I never wanted to come across in this Industry was right in front of me and was written boldly. "Do you Know who's name is on the file?" I questioned as a nervous smile graced the corner of my lips. I bit my lips as I heaved a sigh, "The name on the file is Jaylen Noire Adryan, I am sure you are aware of that." "Yes, I am very well aware," Alexis put off her massage chair. How would anybody decide to just wake up and kill Jaylen, it's like signing a death contract and I didn't sign one. "And you want me to kill him? That man Is well protected, I am also sure you are well aware of that," I tried my best to be calm because I'm around Alexis. The person they wanted me to eliminate is one of the youngest, most successful and notorious mafia lords, Jaylen Noire Adryan. He is the king of the underground world and he is the kind of person someone like me would never want
Kylie's POV When I arrived at the headquarters I kept checking my watch to make sure I hadn't exceeded 30 minutes as I went straight to Alexis's office. I knocked before I entered, both Alexis and Antonio were seated having a conversation. "That was quick," Alexis smiled a proud smile, "told you she would return before the weekend," Alexis flashed Antonio a I told you so smile. "Who wants me to kill Jaylen?" I asked the question that brought me to her office. "I do not know what you are saying Kylie," Alexis stood up from her chair and walked up to me. "You can check the identity of the person who wants me to kill Jaylen on the system," I knew the system was completely anonymous, only Alexis could access the system. "I understand what you are saying but I can't do it, it's against our code," Alexis tried to make me see reasons why she can't do it. I know Alexis is the boss and she has people higher than her in this industry so I couldn't pressure her but my frustration and anger
Kylie's POVI stood behind the stage, peeking through the curtains to see hungry-looking men and women ready to buy themselves people, I felt utterly disgusted. These men looked like they were in the 60s and above, it was obvious they were the godfathers, wealthy businessmen, politicians, and mafia in this town but thanks to men like this I have become wealthy. My eyes searched around and there was no sign of any young man, I sighed but then I noticed Andre and some group of men in suits walked in, that was when I knew Jaylen was there."Our special guest is here, this is the first time Mr. Jaylen Noire Adryan has graced us with his presence," the auctioneer hype Jaylen, and people turned to see Jaylen. The caller must really have power for this to be Jaylen's first time to show up here, I scoffed. Some girls looked at him hungrily while some men looked at him with anger, anyway, I don't blame him, he did look fine as hell. Jaylen took the back seat while his bodyguards stood by his si
Kylie's POVAndre and one of the bodyguards' names I just learned was Sam directed the girls into a van."It's full," Andre told Sam when I was about to enter the van."What do we do? You know she can't ride with us, she belongs to the Don," Sam looked terrified while mentioning Jaylen in their conversation."Don won't let her ride with him looking like this," Andre brought his nose close to me then moved it back, "She smells too."Just let me finish this up, I will definitely kill Andre for saying I smell. I sniffed myself and I wasn't smelling that bad."If Don doesn't allow her to ride in the same car with him, she will have to trek all the way to the mansion just like Latisha," Another bodyguard said and entered the driver's seat."Who is Latisha?" I asked politely, I didn't want to be in the same shoes as her."You don't want to know either but you will meet her soon," Sam smiled, he walked away and I followed behind. Both Sam and I got to where Jaylen was and he was on a phone ca
Kylie's POVMy life is a fucking joke, from living in a big house and letting people do all my house chores to me working in House service."She was added to home service today," Sam said to the elderly woman with gray hair and holding a working stick."Oh.." the old lady coughed, "Jaylen did well, we have been short of staff in the Villas."The old Lady must have worked here for a long time or must be close to Jaylen because she called his name as if she were calling her child's name."I should get going so I can show the others where they will be staying," Sam smiled at the old Lady.So we are all staying in different places, meaning I won't see the girls I met today."Hey, the name is Kylie," I smiled at the old lady after Sam left."Weren't you taught any manners? And why is your face like this?" The smile instantly faded to a frown."I'm sorry ma'am," I think it's time to bring back the manners I had when I was still in the trenches."Kylie, just call me Madam," Madam sat on the c
Kylie's POVIt was a fucking cum on my hands, I threw the used condom out of irritation. I wasn't the one who used the condoms but I was to trash them, I cleaned my hands on his bed. I hurriedly cleaned Jaylen's room and purposely used a broom to push the used condom under his bed. What kind of idiot leaves such a thing lying around, I know it's his room but doesn't he know people clean them? Son of a bitch. After cleaning Jaylen's room, I sat with everyone as we ate in our own dining room, just the home service."So…Jaylen and Vegas are they friends? or not?" I asked the question that had been on my mind."You can't call them by their names and Don Vegas' name is forbidden to be mentioned in this house," Aimee hit me on the leg with her hands. Why was his name forbidden in this house? But isn't he coming over for dinner, my curiosity got the better of me, "So is anyone spilling the tea?""Nobody knows what really happened, Don Vegas, Don Jaylen, and Mr Rex all grew up together as chi
Kylie's POVIt wasn't easy serving the Blondie, at first she wanted fruit salad then later she wanted whisky then red wine, and so on and at the end of it all she didn't take anyone, she just wanted to see her honey bunny. I was very angry that after wasting my precious time, Jaylen didn't have a sip from the coffee but rather returned it to the kitchen saying it was late to have a coffee, late my fucking ass.I set the table alone for Don Jaylen and his guest. I had to prepare the same dishes in three different ways, just because one likes Garlic and the other likes onion and only God knows what the last one likes."Hey pretty," Vegas greeted when he sat at the dining table. I smiled and used my finger to push a strand of my hair backward."Hello," I lowered my gaze blushing, Vegas was too fine not to blush.Kylie! You are a mother to a nine-year-old and you are blushing at the sound of hello, I wanted to smack my head badly."So what's the name? I never really got a chance to ask," V
Kylie's POVAfter cleaning the dining room and again throwing away the food I suffered to prepare, now I see why houses help kill their employer.I sat in the passenger seat of Vegas's car. I thought we would both sit in the car but I was surprised when Vegas drove out of the compound."I don't think I'm allowed to leave the premises," I tried to stop Vegas."Trust me, he won't do anything," Vegas reassured me."Okay, but I will definitely kill you if he does something," I threatened playfully, making Vegas chuckle."I'm sorry about what you had to witness inside, that's how us brothers fight it out," Vegas lowered the volume of the car music."It's no problem but do you mind sharing?" I placed my hands on him, giving him im a light squeeze."There is nothing much to share, it's just Jaylen and I have the same mother but different fathers, our mom was an escort, she had Jaylen with an already married man and she had me with I don't know who," Vegas forced out a laughter."I'm sorry, I
Do you, Selena Lee take Jaylen Noire Adryan as your lawfully wedded husband?” The priest asked with a smile on his face. It's been a year since the court hearing, Kylie had gotten custody of her children, and Jaylen went for therapy.“Yes, I do,” Kylie said with a smile on her face.“You may kiss your Bride,” The priest said and Jaylen wasted no time in claiming Kylie's lips. Everyone clapped with a smile on their faces. After losing custody, Raya decided to go on a long vacation so she could feel Vegas' presence around her.“Everybody to the reception hall!!!” Sam yelled over the microphone.“First, let's go pay a visit to Kylie and Vegas,” Jaylen suggested. While the guests were moving to the reception hall, Jaylen, family, and friends moved to pay their respects to the memorial Jaylen had built for Kylie and Vegas.Everyone began to drop flowers at the door and say one or two things, some began to cry.“Thank you for being alive,” Jaylen whispered into Kylie's ears with a smile on
Selena / Kylie's POVFather had chosen Jaylen as his business partner and I understood. Jaylen's company was an actual investment but I was practically working for his company.“There is a business plan back in New York I want you to handle,” Father said in the living room as he drank out of his morning coffee.“Father, I just returned,” I whined, “I just can't go back.”“Aurora,” Father called my birth name, “It's okay to let go sometimes; just go to the branch in New York by tomorrow morning.”“But…”Father waved me off, “Just do it; I don't want to see you hurt; he told you he won't divorce her; the world already knows you are dead, so please don't bring yourself out.”Here I was again, obeying Father's request, “Book the flight for tomorrow afternoon.” I understood Father; he did so much to make sure my name and face were off the criminal record, all social media platforms, newspapers, magazines, and so many more, and that's the only reason I'm agreeing to leave everything behind
Jaylen's POV “What's this?” I asked as Raya dropped a document on my desk. “Divorce paper and 50% custody of our kids,” Raya said and I laughed out in amusement. “Are you sober now?” I opened the paper and read through it, “A divorce and a custody of my kids? Hell no, that's never going to work.” “I will inform the press of my extra marital affair,” Raya threatened. “I'm lost here, I'm supposed to be the one using it to threaten you and not the other way around,” I laughed. “Why?” Raya sat on the chair opposite me and crossed her legs, “I would tell the press I had an affair three years out of our ten years of marriage because you neglected me and were still in love with your ex-girlfriend. I will also show them the documents you made me sign; trust me, the headline would be crazy: Don Jaylen Noire Adryan maltreated his wife because of his late girlfriend; what do you think about it?” “What?” What was the mad woman up to? “I will also tell them how you pushed me down the stai
Selena/ Kylie's POVI had purposely arrived late to the dinner I had asked Mika to set; I arrived after they had eaten and had enough to drink; I had expected Raya and Jaylen to come but not Charmaine.“What is she doing here?” I mouthed to Mika and Mika shrugged her shoulders.“Mrs Selena, fancy seeing you here,” Raya greeted with a smile on her slightly red face. I could tell she was already tipsy.“Same here,” I hugged and kissed her on the cheek, “I don't see your husband anywhere,” I asked after looking around the living room.“He is in his ex-girlfriend's room,” She smiled sheepishly.Jaylen was in my room? What was he doing there?“Oh, that must hurt a lot?” I felt bad for her; I wouldn't want the man I was in love with to be in love with someone else.“Oh please, it doesn't hurt at all,” she giggled; she drew closer to me and whispered into my ears, “I don't actually give a fuck; he is just my husband on paper; we don't love each other.”I looked at her with amusement and led
Selena/Kylie's POV“Your drugs,” Mother Scarlett passed me my drugs and a glass of water. I took it from her hand and drank it.“All done,” Mother Rachael removed the IV from my hand, “Are you okay?” I nodded my head with a smile on my face, “Kylie, Charmaine is waiting for you in the living room.”When I was at Jaylen's house, I couldn't breathe, so I passed out, and I was brought to Mr Zephyr's house.“I will go meet her downstairs,” I stood up and went down to the living room.Charmaine was sitting down and was doing something on her phone. I smiled emotionally; I have always wanted to hug my daughter, and I have always wanted to meet my daughter in these ten years.“Charmaine,” I called, she turned to me and dropped her phone on the chair.“Mom,” Charmaine stood up and hugged me tight, “Mom, I miss you, why didn't you call,” I felt her tears touch my skin.“Baby don't cry, mummy is here,” I pulled away from the hug and wiped her face.“I was scared, I was very scared when I didn'
Selena's POV“Did you really have to wear that dress?” Mika hissed as she took a glass of champagne from a waiter.“Why? It's a beautiful piece,” I smiled and took a glass from the waiter, “I didn't think you would come.”“Today is my niece and nephew's birthday, so I wouldn't miss it for the world,” Mika winked, “Your dress reveals your butterfly tattoo and the writing on your hand is obvious.”“Aunty Mika,” A young girl ran and hugged her.“My Charmaine,” Mika hugged her back, “You are a young woman, your mom would be so proud.”“Mother wouldn't be proud of some of her decisions, even dad and mom aren't proud of them,” A small girl hugged Mika.“What decisions did she make?” Mika asked while giggling.“Her boyfriend, oh I hate that man,” a young boy said dramatically.“Aurora and Zayn, slow down; we will talk about it later after your birthday,” Mika hugged the two of them tightly.“Sadly, we won't have enough time; Mom planned a respect party for mother Kylie,” The little girl, Aur
Selena's POV“Ma’am, what do you plan on doing for your husband's death anniversary?” My secretary, Nina, asked while looking at the tablet in her hand, and I sat up on the bed.“Mr and Mrs Noire Adryan has invited you to the birthday celebration of their children,” Andre, my bodyguard said, he passed me a glass of water and my medicine.Ever since my accident, I have been on depression and anxiety drugs and injections. My accident affected my life; It left me unable to walk for two years, and my life was halted for two years. Those are the two years of my life I wanted to forget badly but as long as I'm back in this country and especially this town, those memories will stay with me.“We will be hosting my husband's anniversary tomorrow, but for now, let's attend the birthday of Mr. and Mrs. Noire Adryan's children,” I drank the medicine, gave him the cup, and stood up from my bed to get ready.“Ma’am, the apartment you wanted, Mrs Raya Adryan has put it up for sale,” Nina handed me
Jaylen's POVTen years later“Dad, my boyfriend will be dropping by later,” Charmaine gave me a kiss on the cheek, “Do you want me to get anything when coming back?”Charmaine is all grown up, she wasn't the eight years old child I met ten years ago, she was now eighteen.“No, I'm fine, you don't have to wait up late, I would be back late from work,” I kissed Charmaine's head, “Are you dropping your siblings off at school or I should tell the driver to.”“I will drop them off at school,” Raya offered with a smile on her face.“You don't have to, I'm free and I will do it,” Charmaine forced a smile on her face.“I want to go with Mummy, I don't like your boyfriend's car,” My son Zayn said while eating from his bowl of cereal.“I want to go with Mummy, I don't like your boyfriend's shirt,” My daughter Aurora pretended to gag.Zayn and Aurora were twins, but they were opposite, they didn't like stress, and they loved Raya so much. But Raya on the other hand tells them a lot of stories ab
Kylie's POVI opened my eyes when I felt cold water being poured on me. I tried to move, but I couldn't, I was tied to a chair, and my mouth was tapped.“Finally, you are awake; I thought you died or something,” Rex dragged a chair from the far end of the empty building to my front, and he sat on the chair. It was an uncompleted building, it looked like it had been abandoned for years and we were on the last floor of a sixteen story building.“You are always yapping, why aren't you yapping today?” Rex furrowed his eyebrows then burst into laughter, “Oh, I forgot your mouth is gagged.”“I will remove the tape from your mouth when I'm done talking with your husband,” Rex put my phone near my face and it opened, “What did you save his number with?”He waited for me to answer, this lunatic, how could I answer when my mouth was tied and when I didn't answer he said, “Nevermind, I will just dial it,” he dialed the number and burst into laughter, “You saved it as your husband? You both aren'
