Chapter 71

The next day, my body was absolutely in pain. I was drained. I thought I might not be able to get up from the bed. Cara forced me anyway for an early morning jog. She reminded me that from now on, I have to train or at least work out if I’m unable to. I needed to keep my body in shape so the next time they kick my ass, I’m able to stand my ground.

I sighed. I’ve been slacking recently. Before this, I had my own routine. Now, I’m just her beck and call.

I stole a glance at her while we jog side by side. She had a scowl on her face, glaring at people we passed by.

“What's with the face?” I asked.

“You should've worn your glasses.”

I was surprised with her answer since it didn’t seem to relate to my question. “I only need it in front of the computer."

She stops running before heaving a sigh. “This won't do.” She muttered. I barely heard it. I wondered if she's just talking to herself.

I stopped. “What?” I eyed her questioningly.
