Xavier's pov

My mind was still boiling in anger like hot acid about Sophia leaving me hanging and she wants to fucking add more salt to injury.

I looked at her in rage and felt like snapping her neck. If I wanted, I'll just do that in a jiffy and get away with it. My jaws clenched in anger and I gnashed my teeth together. My fingers dug into my fist and I felt my heart pounding inside my chest, pushing me; kill her! Kill her!

Looking at her only brings me grief and sorrow. I wish she never existed, maybe it would have been better fir the both of us. What kind of a woman is she. Does she think she'll stand me? How dare her follow me? Oh moon goddess, help me control my rage, I'll surely kill this annoying thing standing right here in front of me.

My whole body was electric. I felt a burning fire fueling my rage and urge to kill. The speed of adrenaline coursing through my nerves pushing me forward to hit her.

"Cindy! How dare you?" I screamed, my voice echoing into the distance. "Why

Lady Cecilia's POV:After we got back home, they left the house with flimsy excuses and I knew they really wanted to go and talk about what transpired at the temple. That girl was really shaken and she needed some explanations of some sort. I knew this was my only chance to get what I wanted so I followed secretly from behind, tiptoeing along the paths, never allowing my presence to be noticed. The constant rustling of leaves beneath my feet was annoying and I hid myself anytime they turned back to check if they were followed. This was something a child would do but what else could I do, I'll do whatever it takes to get the information I need. The journey was endless and I wondered where they were even going, whether they knew I was following them and it was a trap or something, I was confused. But I did not relent. Whatever happens, I'll take it in good fate. They continued deeper into the woods and I continued to shadow them too until we left the pack. Fear came in because I knew we

Sophia's POV:Heading back home, I cried my eyes out bitterly. I felt the soft vibration of the forest as my heart pounded. My mind was restless and pained. My soul sank in my drowning sea of endless pain. My bones trembling and my nerves fluttering inside my skin. I felt devastated and my eyes narrowed in the distance. My legs heavy like several logs of wood. The endless turmoil I experienced was something I always prayed for it's end, but day by day, it always increasing. When it seemed as if there was some sort of peace, sorrow would strike again. The arrow of agony always trailed me wherever I found myself. It was my fate and I could not run from it. A destiny of unending pain and sorrow. Why was it all mine to bear. I really hated myself as I walked alone on the lonely paths in the woods. The annoying owls continued with their mockery. The sounds of their hoots tailed me as I advanced deeper into the distance, a constant reminder that I can't run from my pain."I hate the way I

Sophia's POVThe wolf leaped at me, and in that endless second it was as though time itself stopped. My heart boomed louder than the wind that howled through the trees. His yellow eyes, glowing like hot coals, burned into mine-and I was paralyzed-unable to move, to run, to even scream. This was it. This was the end.And then the sharp crack of a shot. My ringing ears, the wolf fell to the earth mere feet from where I had been standing.I fell back against the floor of the forest, my chest heaving forward as I watched life slip away from that supine body before me. Its thick, dark fur glistened in the pale moonlight. Blood oozed."Sophia!"The voice was Well-known, Crispy and Distinctive.I turn my head, and a hundred feet away my mother stands-rifle slung over one shoulder-marching uphill toward me with anger and relief smeared on her face."Mom?" My voice quivered since it was tiring to try to fit in the bits and pieces of what just happened. In a few long strides, she was on me, yan

Sophia's POV The ride back to our cottage was oppressively silent. A cloak, was wrapped around me from my mom's anger and the impending storm was above my head, startling me. I stole quick glances at her when she kept her knuckles pale on reins and pressed lips in a thin line.I had just reached and jumped down from the wagon, following her inside. The door banged shut with a loud thud behind us, releasing into space the sound that had pent up. My heart was racing knowing full well that this time I could not go scot-free."Mom." I started rather hesitantly-my voice barely above a whisper. She whirled on me then, her eyes ablaze. My words dried in my throat, as fire replaced whatever message might have sat there, frozen in time; forced, I croaked out my apology. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have gone out without your permission. I.I was stupid. It won't happen again, I swear."She said nothing for a moment. She stared at me with a lance for eyes, like she pierced deeper, searching for so

Sophia's POV The shrill, sharp laughter of Mother still echoed in my ears. But why was she laughing? I wanted to ask, but the words hung heavy in my throat. There was a storm in me, brewing inside, and most definitely that wasn't an eye I would wish to get into. Finally, she had stopped laughing, and the hard-steel expression sent chills down my spine."That wasn't just any wolf, Sophia," she said in a low, slicing tone. "That was no rogue. That was a werewolf."I stuttered out with my racing heart, "A-a werewolf?""Yes," she snapped short, her tone an edge at her narrowed eyes. "And it wasn't here by accident. It was sent. Sent to kill you."Her words stung like a slap. Sent to kill me? I couldn't seem to settle my whirling mind on her words. Before I could, she was bounding me with an accusing glare."You've been mucking around with that werewolf again, haven't you?" she accused.I straightened at the words, which hit a little too close to home. "I-I never did. "I knew it!" she sp

Julian's POVThe air was thick, the type that was hard to breathe. The thick foliage above kept moonlight to minimum size as we walked shrouded beneath it. On my right and walking beside me was her. I spared a sideways look at Sophia as her head hung in heavy indecision; each step appeared heavy. My hand clutched at Sophia's arm, not for affection but with fear that my daughter would again try to take flight. Contorted with furor, she had her lips pursed in a thin line, eyes which were sharp accusatory slivers, saying nothing since we had left the clearing, but the silence louder than any scolding she had heard before.I walked a few steps behind them, not knowing if my company was wanted not. There was friction, silently between the females, an unfinished storm over the horizon, and at anytime it may break at any moment. At last, he came to the house and, with a force pushed the door. The bang it gave against the wall resounded in the room, and Sophia jumped. I let her arm go and tur

Sophia's POV The silence was thick; with every word my mother spoke, each degrading comment about Xavier, the fire in my belly grew more prolific, as if fed dry wood. I clenched my fists deep at my sides and tried to steady my breathing, but the words kept coming, caustic and relentless."I should have killed that no-good werewolf the moment I had the chance," she spat, venom all but dripping from her words. "He's trouble. Look what's happened in relation to him! If you weren't involved with him, none of this would-""Enough!" I shouted, my voice slicing through the room like a knife. My mother stood frozen mid-sentence, eyes wide with shock. I had never yelled at her before. She stared at me as though she did not know who stood in front of her. But I wasn't through. Not yet."You don't get to talk about Xavier like that," I said, my voice shaking with rage. Sophia's POV My words seemed just to lie there in some low-lying storm which promised at any instant to break their banks. And to face her was the last thing I wanted; not at this particular stage, because something inside finally reached breaking point."You don't have to lie anymore," I said, and my voice was firm with a finality. "I know, I went to the pack. The Oracle of the Moon told me the truth of my father. My mom just stood there, frozen, in mid-step, her back to me, unnaturally tense. She didn't even turn around. A second ticked by, and then I really started thinking that she hadn't heard me after all, when her head came around very, very slowly, her face as white as it would have all the color sucked from it."What was that?" she whispered low enough that I almost didn't catch her words. My courage was by no means growing, so under her glare, I swallowed hard. "I know about him," I said again, elaborating, "About my father. The Oracle of the Moon told me the truth. In an i

Mom, I know I'm not good enough for it, that's why I turned it down."I watched her weary disappear and change to a warm smile. She let out a deep sigh of relief, as if the heavy burdens of hers were lifted up from her shoulder. Was she happy that I did not want to involve myself in the Pack's politics or what? She smiled at me and patted me cheerfully on my back."My love, I'm glad you came to me with this. I promise now that I'll be open to you. Whatever you need." She chuckled. "But I want you to promise me something." She said, her voice low.I felt my stomach rumbling as I pondered on her next words. This promise should better be something I'll be able to keep. She knows too well that I'm not good at keeping promises."Okay, I'm listening.""Listen carefully, it's for your safety and that o

Sophia's povI listened keenly, I had my eyes fixed on her as she continued the story, her eyes heavy with tears. Her heart heavy with sorrow and her mouth heavy with with words. Her voice quivered as she struggled to let out her words. However, she did not stop, she continued."Sophia, the tension in the pack had been escalating long before you were born. I really don't know who in particular but someone formed a click against your father. They used his initial weakness to lead as yard stick to measure his success." She paused, wiping the tears building up in her eyes. "I'm sorry." She begged.I cuddled her in my arms, something I never thought would happen today. The way events suddenly took a turn was a surprise, one that I was loving. For the first time in a long while, we've shared the bond of family once again, although tearfully. Sophia's povAs her words sank into my mind, I felt like a heavy stone was dropped into a well, creating ripples of conflicting thoughts in my mind. The Alpha of the bloodline pack is my father? So it's true? The whole thing does not feel real. It feels like my world is being shifted beneath my feet to be crushed by the weight it has put on me.I quickly remembered when the moon oracle had first told me this. That I'm the daughter of the old Alpha and the destined Luna of the pack. Despite all.the signs she showed me then, I dismissed it that time, thinking she was just making up stories that seemed too good to be true. I never believed my life was such a fantasy.I shoved off such thoughts, believing it was some prophecy meant for someone else. But now hearing my mother saying it to my face with all seriousness, now I remembered the words of the moon oracle.'It's your fate and you can't run from it...'Truly, I'm the daughter of the old Alpha. However, I still have those doubts in m

Sophia's povI stood right in front of her frozen like a statue in ice. I was about to pick up the last plate when her voice cut through the air and stopped me. "Sophia, wait a moment."The tone of those was calm but it sent a chill down my spine. My heart raced in unease as I shivered uncontrollably before her. It felt as if time was paused and my mind was given some seconds to reel with thoughts of how to apologise to her. After this brief moment, I was about to go down on my knees and apologize when she spoke again."I'm sorry." She begged. Those words hit me like shockwaves from a high-tension cable. Like what the fuck! She is supposed to be apologizing to me for anything. I should have been the one to apologise to her since last night but here we are, and she's apologizing, her face pale and full of remorse. What was remorseful of?My mind was clouded with the confusion that she had thrown at me. Cindy's POV The silver bullet lay in my palm, its weight deceptively light, heavy with implications. I turned it over, watching the faint glow of the intricate runes etched into its surface catch the light. My wolf stirred forward in my mind, her energy tense and uncertain."You've been quiet," she finally said, breaking the silence. "What are you thinking, Cindy?"I smiled, a knowing expression curving my lips. "I'm thinking about how finally things are starting to make sense," I replied. "This bullet-it's not just a clue, but it is a key to unraveling the mystery surrounding Sophia.""Explain," my wolf demanded, though I could feel her growing excitement.I leaned back against the chair in my room, holding up the bullet like evidence in the court. "If I am not mistaken, this is the bullet from the old Alpha's mate, one of the pieces he had created for protection, but that is not the whole story.I paused with dramatic flourish. The walk back to the clan felt like it took a bit longer than it did, but I didn't mind. I couldn't stop smiling-my mind raced with the discovery I had just made. The cold night air brushed against my skin, but the warmth of my revelation kept me comfortable."You're really happy," my wolf said, 'Why are you smiling like that? Does it have something to do with the bullet you took from the assassin's corpse?" she sounded curious and perplexed, and I couldn't help a soft chuckle."Why do you think?" I answered."Do not play games with me, Cindy." she snarled angrily."What did you find?"I froze in my tracks, throwing my head back so that I could see the sky, a brilliant moonlit. The forest was quiet and silent only broken by the quiet crunch of the rustling leaves as the wind played through the branches. Instead of answering her, I asked one myself."Tell me," I said slowly, "do you know who the former Alpha is?My wolf paused for a second. "The one before Xavier's father?""Yes," I
