Liam let out a heavy sigh and palmed his face in worry.

“How could she be pregnant?” Liam asked and almost ran his fingers through his arranged hair. “Why is this happening now?”

“Liam, Liam!” Emma's voice interrupted his thoughts as she entered the place. “What are you doing here?”

“Are they gone?” Liam asked.

A smile brimmed on Emma's lips and she nodded. “Yeah, I saw her leaving with my father. I made a huge mistake giving him that invitation card. You warned me,” She sighed.

Emma moved closer to him and concern etched on her face as she noticed his troubled expression.

“Is there a problem? Are you bothered about something?” Emma asked. “Did they say something threatening to you?”

Liam hesitated, uncertain whether to disclose the truth.

“You know that you can tell me anything,” Emma reassured him.

“It's nothing, I'm just nervous about the speech I'm going to give. I think I've forgotten some of my lines…” Liam lied and forced a nervous laugh.
